* The place is very clean and looks nice. * All staff was very kind at all times. * They have a restaurant on the ground floor, which can be convenient. * The room is spacious, and has all you need: comfy bed, comfy pillows, kettle, cups, coffee, tea, enough drawers, a hair dryer, two small sofas (more like chairs), spacious bathroom, clean towels. * The stairs are normal stairs, in which you can place your whole feet on the steps! And it's not super steep. Just regular stairs. We were surprised of the high quality of everything given. We loved it there, we would stay there again, and we recommend it!

We were on room 13, and it's on the topmost floor. Is not that we don't like that, I'm just trying to convey that if you have knee problems, for example, or other mobility issues, it would be convenient if you contacted them and ask them to give you one of the rooms on the first floor instead. One recommendation for the hotel would be to put a sign on the door that's on the hallway on the topmost floor that leads to rooms 12 and 13. We were very confused for several minutes because we couldn't find our room, and that door only has a sign that says emergency fire exit, so it doesn't look like there are more rooms on the other side, it looks like an exit. Maybe if you put a sign there that indicates you have to go through it to get to your room, that would be very helpful I think!

Check was brilliant. The lady had gone out of her way to get a z bed for our grandson. He loved it and was very comfortable. Thank you so much for that. Our room was spacious and very comfortable too.

We felt quite disappointed by service at breakfast on the Sunday morning. We had our dogs and were more than happy to sit at the bar area. However on the Sunday morning we had no table settings, cutlery or plates. I had to ask for them so we could eat the toast. We just felt we were a bit of an inconvenience. I understand it was busy but we had booked for bed and breakfast and it would have been nice to at least have some plates and cups and cutlery. Saturday morning was great. The chap went out of his way to make it nice for us. Breakfast was lovely though.

The staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you, they really made the stay extra special. Location is great as it is just off the main high street in Keswick however you step out the door and you are on the road so be careful you don't get squished. As a dog lover I loved that this place was dog friendly and I could bring my own doggo with me for a little break.

I would like to comment on the food on offer but I can't because when we tried to get food on the first night at around 7pm we were told that the kitchen was overwhelmed with all the orders coming in and had closed. 7pm on a Tuesday....also shouldn't guests staying at the hotel get priority when it comes to food? This put us off trying to get food the second night as well so we went elsewhere. The rooms are functional and clean however the shower, while hot lacked pressure so it was as effective as standing under a drain pipe. The rooms are a little outdated and could do with a spruce but that could just be my taste.

Location awesome. Had to park in a car park a few blocks from the hotel but the hotel was right in the town with narrow roads. The pub in the hotel was great. Dinner was outstanding the service wonderful. It was a full restaurant and the staff was wonderful. Short walk to the lake, shops close early but restaurants stay open later.

The room was good size, tons of space but the bathroom shower was one of the smallest I have ever tried to shower in. Smaller than a cruise ship shower. There was no shampoo. Windows would open but not much of a breeze but they did provide a fan to get the air circulating.

Very dog friendly. Room was perfect for what we hoped for. As we had our dogs with us, I would be frantic if everything was brand new, especially after a hike that we got caught in the rain well and truly. Shower was perfect, bed comfy, food was lovely, and everyone was so accommodating to our dogs. A very nice lad even brought up some extra black pudding for them after breakfast. It's little things like that, which really mean a lot. Location was also perfect for us, and we will definitely return again later in the year😁

There was nothing that I didn't like

Ideal location in the centre of Keswick with easy access to all local amenities and a short walk to the bus services. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and approachable, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, including our enormous dog. The bar and restaurant are popular with a good vibe and good food.

There was no parking available at the hotel when we were there, although it was possible to stop for a short time to unload. At busy times it wasn't always possible to get a seat in the bar. Our room was over the bar area and it was a bit noisy on Saturday night. However it all went quiet at around 11pm, so didn't disturb us and didn't spoil our enjoyment of our stay at all

The location was fab, right in the centre. The staff were welcoming & friendly. A very pleasant stay! We had dinner at The George Hotel & it was very good. Reasonably priced with good portions.

We researched this accommodation on Google prior to booking. It said 'Breakfast Included' and didn't mention a fee for a dog. Upon arrival, we paid for the room & then had to pay £15 for our small, well-behaved dog! ( we were given a dog bed, treats & a bowl....but we'd brought all those things with us!) A damage waiver fee would be better though we realise lots of places charge for dogs now! We were then asked for £20 if we wanted breakfast! We pointed out that we'd read that breakfast was included? The lady said that is an old advert which they are trying to get removed! Therefore, we didn't have breakfast at The George Hotel & ate elsewhere. If we hadn't been charged for the dog, we probably would have had breakfast!

The George is an attractive historic inn in the centre of Keswick. It has a very good restaurant, where we had both a breakfast and two dinners. The food and service were excellent. The rooms were very comfortable. There were good drying facilities for wet clothes caused by being out walking in wet conditions.

I stayed at The George Hotel last week with my parents and my children. The location I'd fantastic, everything Is in walking distance. Food in the restaurant was also fantastic and both rooms were very large with plenty of room for us all. The best part of the hotel though was the staff? Everyone was so friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and they were all great towards the kids. Will definitely stay again, thank you!

No faults at all.

Wasn't expecting too much as price is really good in best location on the square room was large with window looking on to the street, excellent modern bathroom looked like just been done, room furniture bit dated but clean we paid for breakfast which was good standard staff were friendly and made a fuss of basil our dog. All in all great value for £100 on a bank hol weekend would def stay again

Nothing to complain about you get what you pay for and is good value for money
