The location is great, right by a bus stop, garage just round the corner, and the town centre just a few minutes walk. I stayed in a female-only dorm and it was great. Beds were fairly comfy, plenty of storage areas in cupboards and boxes under the beds. Doors to the buildings and specific dorms had keycode locks, which was handy for coming and going as you please during unstaffed hours - I happened to be doing various walks in the area so was late coming in but early to leave. Kitchen facilities were great, all you could need to prepare meals, blank labels left by the fridges so you can mark your own stuff. Drying rooms for gear too. Good value for money, was pleasantly surprised. Would stay here again if coming back to Keswick.
The only thing really was some mess in the communal dining areas / kitchens but people are supposed to clean up after themselves so not much can be done. Still fairly well kept all things considered.

Great staff. Really helpful, especially when i needed to find a way to plug in my mobility scooter (i have chronic fatigue) and the scooter i hired was too big to bring inside. They came up with a solution and it made enjoying my stay that much more practically possible cause I was able to pace my energy with the scooter.
It is a hostle so you just need to remember its a dorm room situation. I recommend a sleeping mask and ear plugs if thats troublesome. But all the people in my dorm (and there was a high turn over of guests) were lovely and respectful of eachother so this helped.

The location was nice, it wasn't a super far walk from the bus stations/town, and it was a quiet area. The room was a nice size for the number of beds, although it might feel pretty crowded when full (room for 12, but only 2 full for the night I was there). There were also sinks in the room, hangers on the ends of the beds, and storage lockers for your stuff (need your own lock. There were also a lot of common spaces and kitchen areas
I wish there were outlets in the room for each bed--there were only a couple near the door which would not be ideal with a full room. There also weren't lockers that could actually lock for every bed. The bottom bunks just had drawers that slid under the bed.

Very nice welcome and check in with Christina who went out of her way to help me. Secure storage for my bicycle was excellent and helped put any security concerns out of my mind. My room was lovely and clean, bed comfortable and shared shower was also very clean with a super hot shower with good water pressure. There is also a shared drying room which got my wet cycling gear dried overnight The whole hostel was very quiet and relaxing and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. For people who are expecting hotel type luxuries you will be disappointed, this is a dormitory with shared rooms, for the price you cannot complain, even the Youth Hostel in Keswick was nearly twice the price of this place.
This was the first time I have used a shared dormitory, I was in a 4 bed room with 1 other guest which was a little strange but soon got used to it. I felt sorry for Ashleigh, the other guest, as I was leaving early in the morning and hoped I didn't disturb her too much when packing my stuff up, if only I had thought to do so the night before.

I wrote in your Visitors' book: "Clean Convenient and Convivial" Since I chose to drive overnight (to avoid M6/M5 traffic ajms) on Thursday August 1st I did not stay the sixth night. I could not find anyone to ask whether that might be refunded. I checked out before 10 a.m. on Thursday August 1st and stripped my bed accordingly. Is a refund for that unused night possible?
Some noisy room occupants on first night. Owing to the warm weather, the fuller room then was somewhat stifling.

Staff friendly and allowed for my early evening arrival. Room and beds were clean. Kitchen was clean and had all the necessary utensils and it was nice eating in the communal dining room. Location was excellent - close to the centre of Keswick for food/restaurants and good for cycle rides to the surrounding area, including one along the old Keswick railway line.
Could have had a more secure metal fitting or rail to lock bikes to in the cycle storage (I used the wooden post as the bike stands were quite old.)

Location was great, I had the whole hostel to myself (which was a bit strange at first), but they made the check in seamless when I booked last minute. The hostel was very tidy, the beds comfortable and the staff very accommodating and friendly. There was great parking and just a quick walk into the downtown. Make sure you bring your own towel and warm clothes- gets a bit chilly in the evenings.
Wifi wasn't great in my room and in many of the rooms. I do work remotely so this is important to me. I don't think people should have to pay extra for wifi.

Felt safe, good communication from staff. This was my first time staying in a hostel for a walking weekend but I'd come back again.
Hard to find a warm shower before bed, most were cold but found one on the morning which was lovely The water from the kitchen was brown which put me off making a cuppa but then I was told by another resident who stayed there that there was another kitchen and I'd used the wrong one.

This was the first time I have stayed at Denton House and was impressed with the communication and facilities. The beds were clean and comfortable. The dining room and lounge were comfortable and well equipped..
For convenience, it would have been good to have had individual bunk lights so that I could sort things out and read without disturbing others in the dorm. The only other thing was noise from other guests from 11:15 until 1:15 but I guess this is beyond your control.

Christina the host was amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great drying room, comfy beds. Good self catering facilities.
The only suggestion I'd make is there is a small kitchen with one cooker then a massive dining room with Fridge toaster and microwave but a cooker in there would be fantastic, one cooker wasn't enough. It's not a complaint just a suggestion as I ended up sharing the smaller kitchen with a guest batch cooking who took up all the space.
