We have stayed here at least 3 times before. We love the location and the friendly staff. We also enjoyed the food in the lounge and the restaurant. Our room was just what I ordered (love the waterfall shower) : plenty of coat hangers, and facilities, plus the option to use a floor standing fan if needed. If I had any queries, the staff are on hand to help. We were also fortunate to obtain a parking place in the garage - very handy in view of the rain!

No complaints, but a couple of things I need to address for our next visit. I need to investigate either a bigger bed or a twin room (are there any Herdwick twin rooms) as we are used to our own space!. We also found the room a bit noisy at night (I need to have the window open), but this did not last beyond 12.00, so no complaints.

Location. staff and facilities in hotel very good. Breakfast lovely too. Overall Keswick is a lovely place which we have stayed in often but we really noticed the rise in prices this time - not talking pence here but much more that that - food and drinks in all bars/shops was MUCH more that before! Would think carefully before booking again as we would need to consider the amount of spending money needed for a stay in Keswick.

My room on the top floor was quiet and comfortable and helped in recovering from a long train and bus journey from Exeter. The full Cumbrian breakfast sets me up for the days to explore Keswick and participate during the second week of the Keswick Convention.

Booking at at short notice to book the last remaining single room which happened to be on the top floor was a pain but no surprise. I was lucky to book a room in a central location in Keswick for a week for the second week of the Keswick Convention. My telephone in my room didn't work however I was able to ring my older brother who lives in Carlisle and he and I arranged to spend Wednesday lunchtime and afternoon at Keswick and spend the weekend at Carlisle using the phone at Reception.

The hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and they were all really friendly. Even my dog was treated really well and got a sausage at breakfast 😄 I was very impressed with how welcoming the hotel is for dogs. A blanket and a bowl for water was in the room and they had towels available if needed to dry your pooches when it has rained (which it obviously often does in the Lake District). I really couldn't fault this hotel at all. A huge thumbs up from myself, my son, his fiancee and my dog! We will definitely be booking to stay again xx

Breakfast and evening meal was superb 5* London quality. Evening meal service was fantastic the whole experience was to a very high standard. The staff exceeded in making us feel welcome and we're extremely polite.

Better dining chairs for guests to eat their breakfast and evening meal when accompanied via a dog. Room was lovely however, extractor fan was not in use and slight mould in the shower Although minute. Also, to train waiter's/ waitresses on small details such as, not to remove plates when another guest is still eating whether it is breakfast, lunch or evening meal. However apart from the plate removal all of the above is constructive feedback. We had a fabulous stay. Well done!

The room was very clean and has everything you need. The breakfast is very good and they cater for everyone's needs. the location is spot on as you step out of the door and into the central square. All of the staff are very polite and helpful.

I'm being very picky but when we were having breakfast the staff are so efficient they clean your plate away if you have finished even though the other person is still eating, feel like you being rushed a little. The doors to the room slam very loud and when people come in late and most people are in bed they bang to.

Breakfast was nice, although continental could have had more options. Was eventually moved to a quiet room, although staff member seemed reluctant to allow us to move.

We asked for quiet room and weren’t provided with it straight away. Lady on reception didn’t want to move us but we requested again and we were moved. Don’t think the price matches what you get when you pay.

A Gorgeous hotel, we had a room overlooking the Square , it was spacious, well equipped & spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. The staff were so friendly & helpful. I highly recommend a stay here.

The size and cleanliness of the room was excellent. Breakfasts were super! The car parking facility beneath the hotel is so helpful. Very modern and well equipped. Our third visit in 5 years and we will be back!

The Herdwick room we stayed in had no view and was very noisy - staff outside late night early morning. The boilers were located outside our window and were very noisy very early each morning. We will certainly choose a Town side room next time.

Dog friendly. Staff were lovely, we even got a welfare check as we didn’t arrive at our estimated time and due to the weather we received a phone call double checking that we were ok. Beautiful rooms and extremely clean. Plenty to choose at breakfast also

The room was a little too warm for us and there was no way of turning the heating down. We opened a window but the room still remained quite warm.
