A real treasure to find. A beautiful location at the marina by the canal. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The double room with en suite was large, comfortable, clean and homely, very quiet with a lovely view over the marina. Loved the nautical theme right down to the wallpaper! :) Dinner and breakfast were excellent.. we had the steak frites for dinner, which was the smaller steak portion on the menu and just enough for us after a long day travelling, and the breakfast was the best that we’ve had in a hotel for a long time. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant was relaxing with views of the marina. Plenty of parking space. We would definitely stay again!

Great location with interesting views and fantastic access to walking trails. The rooms are nice and provide everything needed. The restaurant and bar are well stocked and comfortable. I will recommend to both my friends and family in the USA as well as my local family in Scotland.
I really cannot find much to say. I suppose the rooms are beginning to show a bit of wear, but that is to be expected. One night the dinner was a bit overcooked, but I attribute this to it being a low traffic evening (a Monday) and perhaps some staffing issues. Service was good, though.

Really nice setting by the Marina, lovely restaurant where the food was really good. Staff were excellent, my wife has some mobility issues due an ongoing illness and had a fall on the way into the restaurant. They took care of her really well. Couldn't ask for any more. First class.
Just be aware the entrance to the restaurant and rooms are separate. Not really an issue, but weather was awful while we were there - nothing a good coat can't take care of though.

Loved the location and the boat house restaurant, staff were all very helpful and friendly. The view from our room were just beautiful and peaceful, very relaxing holiday location. Great walks from the boat house along the canal. The quality of the food and choice was really good.
We felt the room we had was great as it looked out in to the marina but it needed a bit of updating and and refurbishment but it was clean and the bed was comfy.

Staff lovely, a very warm welcome and very dog friendly. Even treats on bar and bowl of water brought out without us even asking. Nice relaxed atmosphere and food was very good, tasty and hot. The breakfast next morning was huge, even extra sausages for Merlin 🐾❤️ swans and cygnets on the bank side. A couple of small businesses close by. All staff attentive and seem happy to be there and ensure you have a good experience. We'll Done & thanks

A great location right on the canal. Ideal if cycling the canal route and very accommodating about storing bikes overnight. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food for both dinner and breakfast was very good. The weather was fine so it was great to enjoy a cold drink sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the marina.
Nothing apart from some minor problems making contact with the hotel immediately prior to our stay as we had a couple of questions.

The reception and departure were simple. The receptionist went out of her way to explain all aspects of my stay and also showed me to my room. The room was exactly as described with a lovely view of the canal outside. It was a busy hotel but really quiet, which made for a perfect night's sleep. I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was top quality. The highlight of my time there was the absolute courtesy and politeness of every member of staff. They should be commended just for this.

The breakfast was nice. The dinner was OK. They ran out of beef, so we had to take an alternative. It was OK. The staff and manager were excellent. Very friendly and helpful and accommodating.
The bed was very firm and the room very warm, but not to the point that we would not want to come back. A less firm mattress would be preferable.

Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, they were accommodating for our dog. The location is close enough to big cities while having an authentic village feel.
There isn't much to do within walking distance of the hotel but you can drive to nearby towns in 10-15 minutes.

Lovely location, and close to the John Muir Way. Friendly, helpful staff. There was some confusion about payment for breakfast but it was quickly sorted without any issues. Good shower.
It was hard to find a sensible socket for the kettle. The breakfast options were unusual - no porridge/juice/cereal/toast. However, the full Scottish was delicious.
