We stayed here as we wished to visit Sandringham. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay here. Dinner was excellent and service was good especially as they had a coach party in. Room was a decent size on 4th floor which wasn't a problem as the hotel has a lift. Convenient for the centre of town Would definitely stay here again if in Kings Lynn

Could not find a parking space but parked in a local council one which worked out cheaper that using the hotel one . If you load the car park app you can pay for overnight (18:00 - 08:00) and also prepay for morning so you don't have to get up before that to top up the parking. All in all good stay

Room, breakfast and location; and friendly helpful staff

The confusing brief on car parking which cost me a Parking Fine. When asking the guest to enter car registration in the reception computer please make it very clear that this is for the Hotel carpark only; not, definitely NOT for the Tuesday Market Square in front of hotel. The briefing to me was very ambiguous. Some hotels/guest houses have special arrangements with council carparks to park FREE. The Duty Receptionist (Ashley) asked me to place my Registration Number in the reception computer and then was told in same breathe "if the Hotel Carpark is Full, park in front of hotel" led me to assume that arrangement applied to The Dukes. I know to my cost (£25) that is not so!!

Nice quiet and comfortable room, great view across towards the fields on the outskirts of town. Very clean and they have an ironing board and iron in the room. Very good value and I'd definitely stay again if I went back to Kings Lynn.

The worst breakfast I've eaten in a very long time, tastless, over cooked and utterly unforgetable for all the wrong reasons... add to that what tasted like stale luke warm instant coffee, overall so bad it makes McDonald's breakfast seem like gourmet cuisine... I find it hard to believe that the same hotel served me a wonderful breakfast back in October 21. If the Dukes Heads management team read these reviews (I really hope they do!!), I'd say 'Come on guys you can do MUCH better than this.', I'm not the only person to have fed back on the poor quality breakfast. I would love to stay again but I think I'll be skipping breakfast next time.

Large and very comfortable bed. We stayed in The Sandringham room overlooking Tuesday Market Place, lived this location. The room was spacious but does need a little tlc which hopefully it will receive following our recommendations. Staff were superb without exception. We’d definitely stay here again. Note, car park is at the rear and cannot be accessed by car from the front of the hotel (the Market Place). It is fairly small but overnight parking (and any other time) is also available in the Market Place itself.

We registered for 2 night’s parking but could only get in one night. No big deal as we parked for less overnight in the Market Place and the hotel only charged us for one night.

Front of house staff… Superb in very way. Efficient reception staff, very friendly and more than helpful and that was all of the six that I dealt with. Bar staff… Superb, motivated and efficient. These people sometimes helped at reception when busy. I asked for three different cocktails before we went out for the evening and each one was perfection. The same on the second night when another member of staff made up the cocktails. Didn't have to wait at bar and was asked if I'd like to sit back with our friends that they would bring the drinks yo the table and settle the account there. Period building… Lovely! Gorgeous old wide staircase up to the 2nd floor. A couple of sitting rooms with sofas and comfy chairs, they are the bar area were all very clean. Bedroom… Value for money, compact but roomy in it's own way (think large Tardis!). Bathroom a decent size. We overlooked the side road (Market Lane)and this only had a bit of noise late on Saturday evening for a very short moment as people walked down the alley. N.b. We did upgrade from a room overlooking what was an inner courtyard that hosts the vent from the kitchen. This switches off at 10pm but is on again at 6am, fine if you are a deep sleeper (not us!) or don't mind an early morning wake up with the whooshing noise. Location…! Google maps confuses you with its incorrect location mark placement. The front of the hotel looks over the large square (Tuesday Market Place) and towards the "Corn Exchange" which is beautifully lit up at night. The Google marker shows you where the Dukes Head car park is (which is accessible from Chapel Street). A short walk of fifty yards takes you into the town's shopping streets and a hundred yards takes you to Prezzo's or Wetherspoons that are across the other corner of the square.

Breakfast… Oh Lordy, what is going on here!! CHEF: The chef was coming out on a regular basis with well-cooked and tasty hot food (black pudding a little dry) and he can't be faulted. FOOD WARMER / BAIN MARIE: These were not working or not turned on, suffice to say the chef's hot food became tepid within a very short time. We mentioned this on the Friday but there was still no change on the next morning. SERVING STAFF: There was something going on here, not only grumpiness in dealing with clients but some sort of background row going on. They all need a sort by senior management to get the the bottom of the issue and to put clients back to the top of their minds. SEATING AND TABLES: Large tables and comfortable chairs, both clean.

Room was really big. Breakfast was great with several different options . Really nice bar which served food and drinks at a reasonable price. Location was brilliant. very central to everything in Kings Lynn and only approx. 20 minute drive to Sandringham House Church and Gardens. Well worth a visit. Also within a 30 minute drive up to the coast. Can recommend a really good Restaurant Marriot Warehouse on the Quayside no more than a 10 minute walk. Also if you like shopping a great selection within a 5 minute walk. Also on site Car Parking very convenient.

Nothing, wished we had stayed a few more days..

Central location with old world charm in lounges and entrance area of the old coaching inn. Beautifully decorated restaurant and considerate serving staff. Handy for hotel to have it's own bar as convenient place to meet with friends. Bedroom was well appointed and bed very comfortable including surprisingly the very hard pillows. Breakfast had a great range of cold buffet and cooked meals, a good flavoured decaffeinated coffee was available on request. Lunch was very good. The hotel has its own small carpark.

The guest WiFi did not work. The 'newer' back extension to the hotel is bland and rather disappointing but the room absolutely fine. Check -in takes an unnecessarily long time. Disappointing that the bar did not serve bar food but only the same menu as the restaurant. As I had eaten lunch in the hotel earlier in the day I didn't want anything more from the same menu. A sense that the hotel is understaffed although all staff were courteous and helpful .

Huge, beautiful and smart hotel on one of (King’s) Lynn’s market squares. Very central for shops, pubs and restaurants. Reception was easy enough. There are beautiful lounges, a restaurant and a very nice bar. My room was warm and clean with desk and chair, one bedside cabinet and tea and coffee making facilities. No wardrobe, but, coat hangers and ironing board and iron. The en suite shower room was bright and clean with good sized walk in shower cubicle. Good toiletries and big fluffy white towels. A good price on the night and I would stay again.

The room wasn’t big enough to have a double bed and two bedside cabinets with the bed up against the wall to the left. The carpet was ripped and threadbare in places and needs replacing. The shower didn’t drain fast enough and there was a danger of flooding. My biggest ‘bugbear’ was the big bright round light in the entrance ‘ lobby’ which couldn’t be turned off without turning off the ‘sexy’ subtle small spotlights over the bed and the tea/coffee station; a design fault. Parking for the night is £10. Breakfast is discounted to £12+; there’s a Wetherspoons 50yrds away! The lights are keycard operated; when you pull out the card the lights go off; instantly. The corridor lights are motion sensored; when you come out of your dark room it’s dark; until you move and set them off!

Staff are welcoming, attentive and seem happy. I have a disability and they were very accommodating in offering help with my cases etc. The hotel has been done up in recent times. Throughout good quality and bedroom and bathroom were really nice. Decent quality mattress to sleep on. A special mention to Nathan on the front desk who clearly works long hours. He’s smiley and pleasant. As the face of the hotel - he definitely was an exceptionally pleasing factor in our stay. Location is on market square so great location. Parking is £10 a night on site (if spaces available).

All is good

The reception was warm and friendly. After check in we enjoyed a nice drink from the bar in the outside area overlooking Tuesday Market Square. We had a small but well equipped room with Lotus biscuits alongside the tea and coffee and an ironing board and iron as well which, on this rare occasion , I used to iron a linen dress I had brought. The bed was clean and comfortable. There was a very good choice of toast, pastries ,cereal fruit and yogurt on the buffet breakfast. In addition to that we gave our orders for a delicious freshly cooked full English breakfast which really was very good and all served with a smile. The location couldn't have been more convenient either.

The room was hot and there's no air conditioning. I imagine that it's perfectly fine in the winter though.
