Lovely hotel and excellent restaurant

Annoying to find that Booking.com charge £12 for parking when the hotel provides it for free- lesson learned is to book directly with hotel as much better overall rate

having to pay for parking just because we booked through booking.com. free if you book direct ? booked a taxi into town with reception for later in the day came and waited for taxi to ask at reception and they hadn’t ordered it.

We stayed at the Lancaster House Hotel to attend the open day at the University of Lancaster. We liked more or less everything about this hotel, especially the proximity to the university's campus. It is also conveniently located near a bus stop and has plenty of parking available. We loved the room we were staying in with plenty of space and comfortable beds. Live piano music contributed to a nice ambiance at dinner time. We would be happy to return to this hotel again.

We enjoyed the food but we though it was a bit overpriced. Also, we would prefer self-service breakfast (a buffet breakfast).

The hotel was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had evening meal there which was absolutely gorgeous and again the staff were very helpful and polite. . Breakfast was served promptly and was everything you would want from a full English. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfy. We used the outdoor jacuzzi which was so relaxing and just what we needed after a long drive.

I can't really fault it and if I had to choose something it would just be that the indoor jacuzzi was too warm!!

Had very good facilities and easy to check in/check out. Food in the restaurant was very high quality and the bar was nice. The room had plenty of space and was cleaned to a high standard. Over all, was a pleasant stay. Good location.

At the hotel restaurant I was asked to show ID for drinks before our meal which is fine, as it's their job. However, I had to have my drivers license checked twice (Once by a waitress then again by a supervisor/manager) and felt the way they asked me was a bit unprofessional as they looked at me quite suspiciously. Personally, I think they could have handled it a bit better. The staff were apologetic afterwards but it did feel like me and my partner were being avoided during our meal, as we were not asked if the meal was okay throughout dining.

The swimming pool was lovely. Tea/coffee in the room was useful, but the long-life milk in the small bottles tasted weird. The soft toy on the beds was a quaint idea.

Our room had a connecting door to the room next door, where the guests were rather loud and talked till late at night. General lack of signs - we arrived after dark and parked in the first car park, then had to shift the car when we realised that the reception must be further round the corner somewhere, invisible from the gates. Same for the swimming pool inside the building. We had to ask someone, as there were no signs.

The bed in our room was really comfortable BUT we had ordered a twin room and were given a double instead, however the hotel was booked up at the time so it was understandable that the room may have not been available. There was a very nice amount of teas, coffees and there was hot chocolate which was a nice touch and these were topped up each night. The leisure club facilities were excellent and it was nice that you did not have to pay extra to use them- the leisure club was very clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful despite the fact that it as super busy.

Our room was clean but one of my pillows was stained, on the second day we found a rag that had been used to clean left on the bed by accident. Also the saucers and one teaspoon on the refreshment tray was not clean on the second day. Again, I think these small things were just missed because the hotel was at full capacity. The breakfast was nice but I think quite expensive for what it was- due to how busy it was we had to wait an hour for breakfast and the continental part of the breakfast was missing many items due to how many people had booked for breakfast that day. The wifi did not work- though possibly because of the amount of people again.

The hotel is in easy access to the M6! Our room was very comfortable. it was very hot but we were given a fan. The pool facilities were great - the sauna is massive! we chose to eat in the Sandeman bar which was lovely. very friendly staff!

The EV charger was very slow. Annoyingly one was out of order and the other one was in use. the owner of the Tesla did not return to disconnect his car when it had reached fully charged status. We kept checking politely to see if they had disconnected and eventually my husband gave up and pulled out their plug and connected us up. thank goodness he did since their car was still there the next morning taking up the space. i feel the hotel should put a time limit on these spaces and penalise selfish drivers.

Generally a really good two night visit as we attended a wedding. Good facilities and almost al the staff very pleasant. Breakfast and the service was brilliant and fast. Gym and spa area clean and access was easy. Staff made sure we know where to go.

The check in Receptionist over charged us for breakfast and then didn’t resolve the matter straight away. She seemed ‘not interested’ (which is not how every other member of staff are) It only got resolved after we left and a phone call from them.

We came with our dog and was nervous about staying in a hotel with a dog.. We were blown away by the reception we received and the service not only for us but for our dog too. A welcome pack for the dog in our room including a towel and bed and a bowl of water brought to our table for breakfast and dinner without us even having to ask. The hotel was really attractive and cosy.

The hotel sits in the campus og Lancaster University with lots of green land but when we tried to exercise our fog there were signs everywhere saying that dogs must not be exercised. This was a bit difficult but if you have a smallish fog there is plenty of green areas immediately around the hotel
