I found this establishment excellent,. The full breakfast was hearty, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the regulars in the bar made my stay there a very memorable one The owner Lea and her partner went out of there way to help me. I have already recommended The OldPound Inn to some friend who maybe coming down later in the year.

I was very happy with my stay here, Perhaps free beer but then one can't have everything. There was nothing to dislike.

The main reason to go to the Old Pound Inn is Lea… she was our host and a good cook. We were served breakfast every morning as part of our booking and we never missed having Lea cook for us in the evening. Every bite was delicious. Her meat pie was homemade and the best I have ever eaten, her sticky toffee pudding was the best my wife and I have ever had. The cost of eating our evening meal was less expensive than most of the places we found to eat elsewhere on our holiday and the food was the absolute best. With many bed and breakfasts we have had a hard time to find an acceptable place to eat in the evening, we did not have that problem here. They were open until 9:00pm and the food was the best. Lea’s staff were very attentive and very friendly. The room was excellent, the location was very central to the Cornwall Peninsula and southern Wales. We saw the Cheddar Gorge and a very large number of castles and locations in southern Wales. The Old Pound Inn was the very best part of our stay in the area. Wales and western England were easily accessible from this location. The inn was located in a very small quiet town, just short of rural. This is a must stay location… there could be no better than this best.

If I could eat supper twice it would be better.

The friendly staff as soon as you walked in . Spotless clean room and air condition !!!!!!!!! . Amazing restaurant serving a variety to meet all tastes . My son cleared his plate so generous portions !!! . Lovely atmosphere and very quiet as the accommodations were away from the road. It's in a quiet location so we didn't hear a thing . Def a home away from home !. Lovely garden and breakfast was lovely . Beware taxis can be an issue but we were so well looked after and The very lovely Martin and his wife helped us and dropped us where we needed to go. As my son is autistic I can tell you it was so much appreciated.

That we weren't staying longer !!!

Lovely old pub. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was spotless, with a fridge, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and bath/shower gel and hand cream. So generous!! The bathroom was ultra clean and gorgeous huge towels. The room description said double bed but actually it was 6 ft. Huge!! and so comfortable. Great heating and also air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. We also had our evening meal in the pub and it was great food. No complaints whatsoever.

Just be aware this is an old property with creaky floorboards. Not a problem for us though, it all adds to the charm.

I liked the Breakfast, the Ale, the jukebox, the people I met here, the STAFF. Some of the guests were colourful: We really didn't need the fire alarm to be set off at 11pm by an inebriated guest - TWICE. There were some truly awesome moments and some meh ones. That's a rare beast when life's rich pageantry surrounds us - and we notice - and we wander amongst it and we are better for it.

My shower room was compromised by its diminutive size, its awkward layout - and utility was found wanting. The bed was just about OK for me but my sleep quality was compromised by it. The stool in my room was replaced by a borrowed chair I commandered.

A cosy country in with great facilities for a stop over. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable. Complimentary toiletries and a lovely shower were great and a wide selection of hot drinks and biscuits. The breakfast menu was fantastic, all cooked to order and plenty of variety and local produce. The staff were very welcoming and the lady that cooked and served the breakfast was fantastic! Would have liked to use the pub and had some dinner there. Maybe next time!

Could have done with a narrow chest of drawers at the end of the bed, to put things on. Lots of linen stored in the hallway could have been a fire hazard.

Well furnished room with good ensuite shower. Bed was fine. Air con / heater worked well. Quiet as it is away from the pub. Good evening meal and well kept ale in pub. Great breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy parking. Good value for money - will be happy to stay here again.

Some early morning noise but understandable because this seems a popular place for people needing to get out to work. No disturbance in the evenings or at night. Unfortunately, all rooms are upstairs I think - the staircase is quite steep which might be a problem for some guests.

The atmosphere of the pub was great and everyone was so welcoming. The first night off our stay they informed us a wedding evening reception was booked in there. But me and the hubby had dinner and drinks and everyone was super chatty and saying hello. Breakfast was so filling and delicious. Set us up foe the day. Night 2, we got from the wedding we attended and played pool and relaxed for a little while. The owner, she was lovely and intensive. And the bar staff, again friendly and chatty. Highly recommend this pub to stay. Bed!! Was super comfy better than mine at home!!

Perfectly situated for me as I was going to a wedding. The room and en suite were exceptionally clean. The breakfast and other food was lovely. The staff were so lovely, everyone I met were really friendly and helpful. In particular Lea was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, she looked after me as I was on my own and really made me feel at home. I’d recommend the Old Pound Inn.

There was nothing terrible not to like!

We stayed here as we were attending a friends wedding that was 10 minutes away. Every member of staff were welcoming, polite and nothing was too much trouble, the bar staff when we arrived actually walked us to show us were our room was. Room was spotless, very comfortable with bathroom toiletries, bottled water, tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was lovely, the waitress that served us was very pleasant and again any request we might have had would not of been any trouble for her to sort out. The staff here our an absolute credit to the company. Would highly recommend if needing to stay in this area.
