The food in the restaurant for an evening meal was good and drinks weren't extortionate. The room was massive and perfect for disabled person with a really big full wet room with a chair in shower. It's location is perfect for a stopover on way to and from Scotland if you are travelling far north as it's just off the motorway. Bar, waiting and reception staff were all very friendly and cheerful. Lovely building inside and out and free parking and electric charge point.

We asked for a double room and got a twin where the beds had just been pushed together and made up with king-size duvet (not zip n locked) so wasn't nice for a couple. We didn't even book a breakfast at that price (11.95). One door in the building slams too hard and was very annoying when it started banging from 7.30am on a day we had planned a lie in after travelling also emptying their bottles in to bottle bin early in the morning

I had requested a slightly bigger room when booking and was pleasantly surprised. I travel every week and usually end up in rooms in which you could not swing a hamster (Pls note I won't physically be swinging any animals!). This room in Somerton could easily accommodate a cat in each hand. The shower room was equally accommodating and the bed firm but comfortable. The amenities in the room were adequate although I did not use the coffee/tea on offer and only satisfied my midnight snack urges with the tasty biscuits on offer. The breakfast was hearty and filling, the coffee pot was nice and hot and smiles all around.

I have a preference for yoghurt in the morning and did not see any on offer at breakfast. There might have been available but did not see any at the table.

Very convenient as close to the motorway. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the (accessible) room was very spacious, with good amenities. The breakfast was good, I didn't try the evening menu.

Proximity to the motorway means a certain amount of background noise in the rear rooms when the windows are open - not a problem for me but some might notice it. No grab bars for getting on/off the toilet in the accessible room, otherwise very accessible.

I loved the fact I was able to get a ground floor room as I am disabled. i heaven had a walk-in shower and a touch that not many do is I had a shower chair. those little things makes life much easier for someone with a disability! it was a beautiful room and so quiet!

To be honest there wasn’t really anything, the one thing that was difficult was Getting from the front to my room as access was difficult but it’s an old building not designed for that and it wasn’t the end of the world.

A warm welcome here, all the staff were chatty and nothing was too much trouble. Room was spacious with a 4 poster bed, and kind of quirky, but had everything we needed. Great vanity area and bathroom was fine. Food in the evening was good and breakfast was excellent. The bar was nice and cosy.

Couple of small things, the evening meal was served in the lovely conservatory, but the cutlery was like something from a transport cafe, dont know why as cutlery at breakfast was lovely. Just thought it a bit odd. Also in our room the water heater came on at 6am and it made such a racket it woke us up and was impossible to get back to sleep, it kept going for over an hour.

The twin room on the ground floor was perfect for my elderly mum with its easy access and wetroom style bathroom. The bar area is stunning with beautiful New Zealand oak and very tasteful furnishings. The dining area in the conservatory is also lovely - bright and airy and very comfortable. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout.

Having to leave the next day, as this was only a one night stopover on our way up to the Highlands. We'll be back!

Have stayed here many times and that says it all as we keep going back. The staff offer an exceptional and friendly service. The food is delicious and the location brilliant. Our last visit was unfortunately for a family funeral but again the staff were great, kind understanding and thoroughly lovely.

The rooms are all spacious and very clean but the mattresses are a little hard and the upstairs rooms need a little attention and love.

As I'm vegan a special meal was prepared for me. Nothing vegan on the menu but I was very grateful that trouble was taken to accommodate me.

I said I'd like to dine at 7pm but had a long wait despite my food being ordered when I checked in at about 5.30pm. I appreciate they were very busy. Would have liked decaffeinated coffee sachets in my room. Also sachets of plant milk such as oat milk which I've had at other hotels.

Somerton provide an excellent breakfast with a wide selection of options. Also, breakfast is freshly cooked to order and more than ample. When we arrived we had a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. We are both vegetarian for which there was a lot of options. This can be limited in many restaurants. This was our second stay at the Somerton and we have enjoyed both of our visits. The staff are lovely and the hotel is situated in a quite area.

Our room was excellent, very large on suite with a four poster bed. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options available served in a Scottish style restaurant . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I had a cooked breakfast but gave the haggis a miss! The prices in the the restaurant the evening we arrived were very reasonable for the quality of the food which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely stay again when on our way to Skye or Mull next time as it's only a hop skip and a jump off the motorway.

The bathroom had passed it best. The soap holder fell off when we tried to put something on it. Could do with a little attention. But it was a small thing when taking in consideration the value for money of our stay.
