Location is perfect, everything was new or recently refurbished and very clean Would be happy to stay here again

Very small room and quite an awkward on suite access but perfect for our nights stay.

Located within a 5 minute walk to Victoria Train Station, this quaint hotel is quite sufficient for a single traveller. Checking in was relatively easy and painless; the counter person was polite yet aloof, and the room was cleaner than expected, with everything I needed to enjoy my stay, nearly (see cons). The tea/coffee set was ample and cute, and there were two complimentary (I assume) bottles of water for those who like their tap water bottled and sealed in plastic. On the first floor, I enjoyed a window which opened onto a mini balcony with a view to the street, and was delighted to see the room came with a tower/rotating fan - an essential for helping me sleep. Check out was easy and the time of 10am left me the opportunity to sleep in.

The bathroom, while sufficient, was tiny and the step up into it was a bit awkward. To sit on the toilet one had to sit at an angle, as the sink was that close to it. I was astounded to realise that there were no (zero) towels, rags, or floor rugs/shower rugs whatsoever. I feel certain that had I asked they would have been provided, but by the time I noticed I was naked and not in the mood to dress, go downstairs to ask/get, and then undress again to shower. There *was* ample toilet paper, but I wasn't feeling brave enough to use it as a towel, especially since it as so very thin. In all, pretty minor cons.

The room was ok, we had 2 beds so there was enough space. Location was excellent, just a few steps from Victoria station and a lot of pubs and restaurants are close by. The room had an electric heater which made our life easier, we appreciate that. All in one it was ok, we would come back.

The noise by night is horrible, it was close to a railway station so there was noise all night long. Wifi signal was not great in our room, often getting disconnected.

It was a pleasant experience to stay in the Ivy House hotel! The quality of the place was much better than I hade expected. Having travelled around I came to London really tired. It was raining and cold. I had booked a single room with shared bathroom/toilet in Ivy House for two nights because it is close to Victoria Station. Some of the negative feedback I had read on the place made me doubtful, and I did not expect much. But the reception by the owner was welcoming, and sympathetic towards the wet and tired elderly. As the available single rooms were upstairs, he was ready to provide me a room downstairs instead. As I expressed my surprise of the newness, cleanness and freshness of the facility, and the good condition of my room especially, I found out that the whole place had been repaired thoroughly a couple of months earlier. And even the noise level by the train station and passing trains had gone down. My room on the street side was quiet. It was clean and warm. Naturally, when I am not ready to pay much, the facilities of a more expensive hotel room were not there, but for anyone needing a basic accommodation for a night or two, the place meets the expectations. And it is a really short walking distance away of Victoria train and tube stations. The hotel does not offer a breakfast, but the short walk to Victoria provides a variety of places to eat whatever you want. When staying around Victoria station I always take a breakfast there instead of the hotel, on my way to flights or the centre of the city. I had been informed that the hotel does not have an internet connection, but it was there now. And a TV in the room as well. I was very satisfied with my stay, and will definitely stay there in the future as well, when I come to London, either on my own or with the husband.

The suggestions for improvements are about details which the hotel might be doing soon anyway. In my room, a shower curtain and something the dry the floor with would be useful. And more table space would be welcome.

The location is great its Centrum. Next to Victoria Train, Big Ben, London eye Westminster Abbey. Neighbourhood nice and good place to start visiting the city. We had a private shower and toulet in the room, the bed was comfortable. If you are not looking for luxury and you are coming to London and want to only sleep somewehere then IT Will meet your expectation.

Better don't forget ear plugs, windows from my room was outside the trailes and noise was very annoing whole night.

Standard victorian style large house converted into accommodation. Great for short stay where you only spend sleeping hours. Great location, close transport connections and safe area. Close convenience shops for late shopping and a few larger shops nearby Great value for London money

Nothing they can do about it: rooms not facing the street face Victoria platforms. Depending on day of the week, there might be late services which are very loud

Very good location (5 minutes walk to Victoria station, shops, pub and places to eat nearby) and although basic, was nice and clean. We had a room with own bathroom (there are rooms here with shared too) but wasn't expensive. We needed to be in the area unexpectedly for an unplanned event and was very convenient for us.

The window wouldn't shut properly so quite a bit of draft and the sink in the bathroom was leaking underneath so the floor was constantly wet. Luckily I always keep my own slippers in my travel bag.

I love it, location, room, neighborhood. Behind Victoria Station and very close to the palace, parks and Big Ben... walking distance. I stayed in the room with a bathroom and everything was new and clean. The city was very hot, air conditioning would be ideal, but there was a big fan to help.

I just don't recommend it for those who have problems climbing stairs, as there are many depending on the floor you are staying on.

Ivy House Hotel is perfectly located within a short walk of both Victoria Train/tube & coach stations. Polite staff on check in. I had the single room which had tea & coffee facilities plus towel & toiletries. The bed was reasonably comfortable & had good clean white sheets.

Decor tired & could do with an update but absolutely not an issue at this price for such a good central location within easy reach of transport links.
