The location and the price for London was great. Friendly and polite staff especially the cleaners and room preparers. The cleaners have a big job and are working fast and as best as they can. Guests need to be more self aware of not leaving a mess.

The guests had been stealing kitchen items and so to use the kitchen was very challenging. Only one stove top was working. There is an overall issue with using hostels for both travellers, and homeless people. Cleaners need to reach into the corners for a thorough cleaning. Upgrades can be made to the common areas.

The staff on duty on my arrival ( Joshua & Victoria) were exceptionally excellent; very accommodating, cordial and respectful. They were happy to help everyone that approached them with smiles on their faces. The room was really clean. There was someone going round to ensure the rooms were cleaned and ready for use. This is brilliant. Very clean bathroom and shower. I’m impressed.

Bad attitude from a female staff at the reception when I was checking out at about 09.45 on Wednesday 2 August 2023. She was very abrupt, abrasive and obnoxious. She was disrespectful, dismissive and rude towards customers. Thanks to Joshua who spoke up for me. This female staff should not be positioned at the front desk as has no good manners and attitude befitting portrayal of your business. Very off-putting character .

Good place to meet other travellers. Clean rooms with comfy beds. Great Brazilian restaurant in the building. Recommend for anyone who wants a cheap and convenient place to stay, just 1 minute walk from the train/tube.

By reading the previous reviews, I've had a different, a very positive experience. I was checked in by a pretty, friendly female who later even lend me her charger which I still need to give back. Sorry for losing it tho, I will make it up for you :) The place was clean with clean, freshly washed bedding. Easy going, relaxed place to crash a few nights.

Nothing to mention here

situated next to the tube station which is a big plus, check in ok, note that there is a deposit for the key (10 pounds /euros/dollars), The staff took note of my requests and made them possible,. bed was ok , shower in the room, cleanliness ok. There is a lounge downstairs where one can play ping pong or snooker and also a bar on site which was open on a saturday evening. Also the restaurant with different meals at decent prices and waiting times. The price was good, also.

it s not something I didn t like , only a mention: there is only one electric socket in the room and, if you come back late at night you might not find where to plug your phone in. use the ones in the downstairs lounge instead if you need to have your phone charged by the next morning. Other than that, nothing to add.

Room and facilities all were comfortable and above expectations. The girls clean this hostel everyday and I have enjoyed staying in clean room and using microwave and kettle in kitchen area.

Not applicable. I enjoyed only staying in this hostel It has excellent location, best staff as good as other hostels in London. Everything was excellent. Breakfast is served daily I will have it next time. There is no fixed menu and fixed price. I have noticed they serve excellent breakfast in dinning hall every morning only if we order then.

Room was clean and comfortable, basic cooking facilities are available (hob and kettle, no fridges or microwaves). Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's exactly what you'd expect for the price in London.

The shared toilets were constantly blocked and the wifi didn't work.

The location is very good, near to a underground station, the staff is friendly and helpful and reception is opened long hours, l believe 24 hours, what is a good think in case you arrive there late at night, 11pm or12pm after a very long journey. I foung the room quite warm and the bed very comfy

Well lt would be great if they put curtains in the beds like some hostels, you feel more privacy and in your own space. But l was happy with the rest of facilities offered by the hostel and the service of the staff. I would come back

Fee of just £16 in London must be one of the cheapest options currently available. People can always complain but this is an absolute bargain for anyone who just wants a bed for the night and is not fussy about the rest.

The hostel is in a very convenient location for the tube and there are five parks nearby as well as some shops, bars and restaurants: an independent cinema too. It’s also not all that far from Portobello Road Market and is actually very quiet as an area. The Grand Union Canal which finishes far away in the Nation’s second City runs through Kensal Green near to the hostel. Check in was easy until we got to the £10 key deposit that is refunded on check out…I had no notes and although there was a (fee paying) ATM there I wouldn’t have been inclined to pay a fee for an ATM, however I was able to pay with Euros’ luckily… The shower and basin in the room were handy and it was a warm room. The Kensal Green Cemetery was founded in 1832 by the General Cemetery Company which still owns it today. The oldest and largest of London’s “Magnificent Seven” burial grounds came about as a result of a visit by Barrister George Frederick Carden to Paris’ Pere Lachaise Cemetery which he thought could be used for a similar venture in London. Apart from the ordinary folk, the cemetery is also the site of the graves of many noted characters as well as including Maria Graham, Wilkie Collins, Charles Babbage, William Makepeace Thackery, Charles Shirley Brooks, Anthony Trollope, Sir Marc Isambard Brunel and son Isambard Kingdom Brunel as well as most others in their family, Harold Pinter and Charles Blondin. Another notable grave belongs to the fifth Duke of Portland who was the basis for Mr Badger in Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows but he is not the only member of the aristocracy to be buried here. Some of the burials here were attended in his time by Charles Dickens who ended up being buried at Poets Corner rather than the simple funeral he had requested in the cemetery of Rochester Cathedral in Kent. He had recently reconciled with William Makepeace Thackery after a long dispute when the latter died in 1863 rather unexpectedly at the age of 52 and attended his burial here.

The hostel is alright but run down and a lot of the bed linen needs replacing (many of the pillows too) this may be connected in some way to the general economic situation as well. The blue pool table baize clearly needs recovering… I didn’t use the table tennis table but the fact that they are there at all is impressive as a great addition that other hostels don’t usually have. The breakfast room was there but I didn’t use it - the first night I got here I did have a meal that was not expensive for London but was certainly worthy of being less costly in price and there was plenty of it. The nights someone in the room remembered to leave the window open until it got cold were cooler but none of us were entirely unhappy with being so warm in the winter.
