We arrived a little early so waited in the pub itself for the room to be ready. The pub is decorated very tastefully and the atmosphere was nice and chilled. We didn't get the chance to eat here but, going off first impressions, I imagine the food to be nice. The room was spacious with a modern bathroom & had handy amenities such as an iron/ironing board, tea/coffee facilities etc and, most importantly, it was clean. The bedroom was a little dated (in comparison to the pub itself) - but this isn't an 'issue', and we knew from the pictures what the room would be like so this isn't a complaint! I wonder whether there are plans to renovate the rooms to a similar style as the pub. We paid a very reasonable price for this hotel, we were going to Lytham for the evening so the lady at the bar recommended us a taxi company who were quick and reasonably priced. The hotel also has ample car parking and is in a quiet area. We were a little worried as some of the recent reviews on TA hadn't been too good, but we didn't feel there were any safety/hygiene issues like those that had been mentioned in some reviews - the room was clean and felt secure (chain on door etc).

Only a couple of little niggles with the room, with the biggest one being that our twin room (room 1) could definitely do with the mattresses being replaced as they were really noisy, quite thin & just not very comfortable. A couple of the 'big' lights in our room didn't work either - the main bathroom light and the main light in the bedroom.

The location was nice and peaceful. Lovely country pub. Nice friendly staff. Lovely brummie restaurant manager and attentive waiting staff. Sunday evening dinner was lovely and the crumble was amazing! Food not cheap but nice. Fab price for 1 night stay. Shower was powerful and hot. Fluffy towels.

We stayed in room 2 which was nice and clean except the toilet was stained and needs a good scrub in the pan with some bleach. The shower cubicle has mould which can be easily sorted but I note other reviews have mentioned this and it hasn't been resolved. The sink was weirdly high but fine. 1 light over a bed wasn't working. The cleaning of shower and toilet needs addressing as this is a nice clean place everywhere else.

Very comfortable rooms and lovely food and drink. There was a change of management in our second day which didn’t really make a difference. The relief manager Valentino was amazing and gave us clean towels and cups as we were unaware that the rooms are not serviced. Please bare this in mind as the refreshments are not replenished or rooms cleaned. Valentino made our stay much more enjoyable and was very attentive and great with customers. Thank you

The room was not fully cleaned when we arrived but Valentino apologised. There is no fitness centre but that didn’t bother us.

The breakfast was excellent, but unfortunately only served at weekends, which we didn't know. All the staff were lovely and friendly.

The only problem we had was with the mattress. I'd definitely say it's passed it's sell-by-date. We were in room 14. The mattress was very lumpy and noisy when you turned over, hence not a comfortable sleep at all. We did, however, enjoy our stay, but we wouldn't class the room as a Deluxe double. We also would have preferred breakfast to be served daily.

The Pub appeared to have been recently refurbished to a very high standard, the restaurant area looks great, with extensive outside sitting area too, some under cover. The food in the restaurant was amazing, good value and reasonable pricing. Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The Hotel rooms are spacious with nice bathrooms and furniture. Some of the corridor carpets have seen better days, however, I quickly add it was immaculately clean through out. Over all 10 out of 10, we'll recommend.

My mattress in room 6 was very noisy from springs. Certainly no big issue and could be easily sorted.

The room we had was a dog friendly one but was beautifully clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was newly refurbished and again spotlessly clean. The food was excellent. Freshly cooked and excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The location was perfect for us - just outside Blackpool and away from the crowds. but near enough to commute in easily. There was ample car parking on the site. The whole pub and gardens were very dog friendly and we felt the whole stay was good value for money. We will definately stay there again.

I couldn't fault anything about this pub/hotel.

The breakfast was excellent, first class ingredients, piping hot and could have fed 2 people easily. I didn't need to eat anything for the rest of of the day.

There was nothing I did not like. I have been to The Birley Arms previously for a meal with friends who have relocated to Warton from Manchester. I was so impressed that I decided to stay here on my next visit, and I will definitely stay here again, my next visit will be Christmas Day for lunch with my friends.

Lovely staff. Very tasty generous breakfast. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Would love to come in summer to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor spaces at the back.

Nothing negative. I would have preferred more flexibility with the breakfast prices. Maybe just toast and egg for a cheaper price or a bacon buttie. The full english was really good value for money though. Very tasty.

Lovely pub, food and drinks excellent , we had 12oz gammon chips and peas it was lovely, our dog was welcome and fussed over. The room was great value for the money we paid and the staff were lovely, nothing was too much for them. Location was perfect for our day out at Lytham beach and blackpool was only a short drive. It was nice and quiet
