We booked this hotel for one night the day before arrival for nine people on a half board basis for a 70th Birthday celebration after the hotel we had previously booked appeared to be experiencing a high level of negative reviews. We booked a table in the restaurant and asked if we could all be seated on the same table. Georgia told us that she would do what she could but the restaurant was busy and we may need to be split into two groups. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by Wilfred and arrangements were made for us to be seated in the lounge for drinks which were served by Grae who is a delightful girl who made us all feel extremely welcome. One of our party had brought a Birthday cake which Grae brought to the table and she arranged for us to have plates and forks. We were then told by Wilfred that we would be served dinner in the Grenfell Lounge which had been allocated to us as private party. The Grenfell Lounge is a fabulous room full of character with informal seating as well as a formal dining area. We were allowed to decorate it with bunting and banners and when we arrived for dinner we were allocated Adam as our waiter for the evening. Adam arranged the drinks, table service and made sure that the evening was a total success which it was. The food itself was exceptional and of the highest quality which the whole party thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms were comfortable and clean with all the usual bits and bobs that you would expect in a hotel of this standard. Breakfast was served for us as a private party in the Grenfell Lounge and we were able to take a walk in the grounds afterwards before heading off having had a wonderful time at this hotel where we were made to feel very special by all of the staff previously mentioned. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough

Absolutely nothing

we had previously been to Taplow house a couple of times over the years and we loved the location again for our wedding Anniversary t😁However I must say our visit in May this year was fabulous in every way, friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant ( we booked) surroundings and the hotel refurbishment was so much improved! we actually loved the ethos of no wedding venue whilst we were there during our stay, it just made it so much more relaxing!! The only issue we had was checking out, where we paid on a different card than we checked in with (even when we were told it was just to hold a card and it would be ok , this was rectified very easily by the manger when I rang to investigate, the lady was more than helpful!! ) we will definitely be back to Taplow House

absolute nothing it was beautiful !

We stayed here for Christmas day, party of 8 all different ages, from pre-teen to elders. The rooms are exactly like the photos, very nice, clean. Hotel lounge and drawing room are elegant, sylish and comfortable. Heated outdoor pool was brilliant Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. They didn't specifically do a vegetarian breakfast but they were very accommodating to adapt the regular breakfast to a vegetarian version. The staff are absolutely exceptional, so attentive and can not do enough for you. Hannah the Manager is amaizing, every little detail was catered for. Congratulations to Hannah and all of our team! We had an wonderful stay.

A beautiful building with a huge lawn. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable and had air con for the humid night.

The room was quite small, but big enough for a one night stay. The shower in the room was overhead only and lacked an attachment... Everything else was really good for the price that included dinner and breakfast!

The staff that I came into contact with were very professional, nothing was too much trouble extremely helpful made my stay special. Breakfast was wonderfull, fresh ingredients and very tasty. Bed was very comfortable, outdoor areas and scenery beautiful. Well done.

There are no real negatives that affected my stay.

The staff was awesome even though the staff was newly hired. Knowing this, we were impressed with their service and graciousness.

We were in room 20. The bathroom faucet was in need of repair; unable to fully "turn off" the water at the vanity. It pained us knowing there was water being wasted. It is also expensive ( for the hotel ). For the value/price, we felt the room to be very quaint and pleasurable.

The staff here were amazing. As a female staying on my own they were the perfect balance of attentive without being intimidating or intrusive and unlike some hotels didn't seat me away in a corner! Thank you

Whilst the communal areas now look lovely and fresh after the refurbishment it just makes the bedrooms look tired. I hope they are to be updated next. My room could do with the carpet at least spot cleaning, the valance on the bed needs replacing (torn and marks on it), scuffs on the walls touching up and the extractor fan in the bathroom dusting.

Staff were lovely, always polite and attentive. Breakfast was so good, everything cooked well. Lounge areas well kept and clean, entryway was nice. Bed was comfortable and the grounds were quiet at night.

Our room was on the upper floors (attic space if you will) so my husband had to sleep on one side or he'd hit his head on the low roof getting in and out of bed. No central light in our room, so main lighting came from bedside/floor lamps which took some getting used to, especially when arriving back at night.

I liked the original features such as the cornicing, stucco work and the huge gilded mirrors in the dining room. We had an excellent dinner in the evening; my chicken dish came with a really tasty mushroom and onion sauce, which was delicious. The breakfasts were very good too. There are some very old trees in the grounds, one of which was planted by Elizabeth 1.

We had a problem with our room key (and so did several other people). This was resolved by a very helpful man who reissued our keys.
