Proprietor Joe was very friendly and kindly accommodated me with an early check-in due to my travel plans, and was still up when I came back late that evening to show me where my room was having placed my luggage there himself. Looked like there was a nice pool but sadly didn't have time to use it.

Bed was quite hard. To be clear, this is not a modern "boutique" hotel, but rather a classic English style small traditional hotel. and as such it did exactly what you'd expect. Fine for a few nights.

I went for a workshop. It was a wonderful homey atmosphere, Joseph met me on arrival and was so welcoming and that feeling of calm and welcome was everywhere in their place.

I was gone early and returned late. The room was perfect, warm, sparkling clean and loads of hot water. My room looked out on the pool and the yard. I could walk around and sit outside in the peaceful back yard. I was walking distance from the river walk and shops but it was quiet and peaceful. I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment but the dining room looked out on the back and looked very inviting.

Spotless property, lovely bright bedroom & huge bathroom. Was a treat to have our own iron & ironing board in the room too - it's the little things! Large pretty garden - sadly not really the weather - would have been nice to sit out in the evenings and chill. Super tasty scrambled eggs (other breakfast options are available) Lovely Hosts - would definately recommend & would stay again. We had a lovely stay - was sad to check-out !

Nothing really - might perhaps have had a dip if the pool was open, but currently closed - not obvious when you book, and wasn't really the weather, but then we have used a freezing outdoor pool in Jersey in autumn and survived, so maybe...

Friendly owner, recommended good places to eat and kindly let me leave my car parked there the following day, once I had checked out. A good size room, comfortable. Great price!

The TV was faulty, (Room 9). Something wrong with the signal/audio, it occasionally made a lot of noise when you stay on one channel for so long. Also, when you use the bathroom lot, that also makes a lot of noise, not sure what it is. No breakfast due to short staff. The swimming pool was out of use too but this was made clear on the website when booking. Overall, a few mild inconveniences but I really liked it. It was a nice stay.

Friendly and informative gentleman to greet us on check-in and check-out. Full of excellent recommendations to eat locally. We hadn't booked a breakfast, which was entirely our fault but good suggestions offered as an alternative within a short drive. Room spotless, beautifully furnished and decorated, excellent value; bathroom sparkling, shower excellent; we will certainly stay here again if in the area in the future.

Nothing to dislike

Was very accomidating when trying too add an extra night to my stay. Also help me with a taxi service. This was all even before getting too the norfolk. When arrived, I arrived a lot earlier than i thought i would. They were very accomodating and gave me a room very fast, the room is lovley and cosy for myself and the shower is very powerful its lovley. My first breakfast there was lovley i had tea and informed them i cant have dairy and they were accomidating. I got asked what i would prefer tomorrow for breakfast and as i dont like some of the items they amended my breakfast for me. Very polite and friendly. And brilliant for recomendations around for places to eat for lunch and tea. When coming back late after a wedding Joe was there and checks I was okay as I ha been drinking. Very caring gentleman and can not wait too stay there again. Joe gave me a very good recommendation for my Sunday lunch in the area and the best way to get there for a beautiful walk.

The only downfall I have is the bathroom was very tiny and the shower was very small that as a bigger person I struggled with using the shower a bit but that is not the hosted fault that is just the way the building / room is laid out..

This is a great location close to Heathrow airport and a few pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of off street parking. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Though you can hear other guests coming and going. But it is basically and older house/hotel.

The pool area needs a good tidy up and pool is empty. Did notice that mentioned in previous reviews and that’s going back a while. It was summer and warm while we were there. Really think they need to change photos and update this detail on the site.

Hotel is a one off. Very high standard of decoration and cleanliness. Staff (and owner) are very friendly and helpful. Free on-site parking and fast Wi-Fi. Lovely friendly three-legged cat makes it :) I am now retired but I spent a LOT of my working life traveling and working away from home. This is the third best hotel I have EVER stayed in.

No restaurant or bar in the evening.

I stayed for one night at Norfolk House and will definitely go back when I'm in the area. I met Joe and Moira who are lovely, welcoming people and very easy to get on with - I ended up having a drink with them at the bar and staying up late we were having such a good chat. I felt very comfortable there. I'm house hunting in the area and Joe said he could do a special deal for a longer stay, which will be really handy. He's a really nice, easy-going person. I had a lovely stay. Nice, personable people.

We had not booked a breakfast but staff sorted that out for us without fuss. Nothing seemed too much bother. A very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Convenient for an early flight from Heathrow. Hotel grounds and surrounding area are beautiful.

No negatives. Our stay was only one night. Perhaps something might have shown up if we had had a longer stay.
