We've stayed at this hotel several times in the past, but this stay (17th Aug) was the best. Two things made it different from previous visits; the young lady on the reception desk, and sometimes doubling as bar staff, was very helpful and made us very welcome. Also, the twin room allocated to us was much roomier and more comfortable than our previous visits. We had a couple of drinks in the bar while we were there, and it was as good as always, with the outside seating overlooking the river.

We used to enjoy the facility of a cooked breakfast, but it seemed to be 'continental' only now. Apparently there was a brief period when no breakfast was available, so at least we could have toast and coffee !

I was staying here for 4 weeks due to work, so you get a good feel for a place. Couple of mins walk there is a fully stocked Asda supermarket at the fuel station. The location is lovely right in front of the river, I have to say room 203 is a great room front views and on the corner with lots of light to the bathroom which is on the right side of building. Great parking always room, security cameras that are monitored at reception. 24hr staff on hand. The Staff here are amazing, they are professional, friendly and attentive. Big thanks to the staff Lilly,Trish,Debbie,Wendy,Nadia,Lydia,Olya,FrancisGarshin,Rayu,Conor. Thankyou very much, You are all a credit to the Hotel. Oh and if you like a drink there is a lovely bar with seating outside with views of the river.

Nothing really, the rooms could do with a makeover but I hear that is on the plan. But for the area and price it’s great value. But the bed is comfortable with lovely linen and pillows. That for me is inportant

For the price and somewhere to stay for the night, the room was adequate. Considering our room was on the front and it was warm night so we had the window open, I expected to hear the ducks alot more, but I barely heard them. Nice and relaxing to have a few drinks outside and watch the boats go by on the River Thames. 5 minute walk to the left of the pub, there's a childrens play area and also breakfast hut which opens early, even on a Sunday morning. Parking was free behind the hotel, just put your reg in at the reception desk. Petrol station literally 2min drive incase you need to top up. 10min drive from Windsor castle or Legoland.

Cleanliness of the rooms could be better. Being a cleaner myself, finding little hairs on the bedside draws, on the sides of the bath and toiler floor. But for the price, the rooms are reasonable but just abit more attention to detail on cleaning.

The parking was great, free and easy, view from my room overlooking the Thames superb, comfy spacious room with Juliette balcony,, great riverside walks, Connor my host was very pleasant and helpful, and the price competitive. Almost a great find.....and I would stay again.

There is no food at all, morning or evening, till the new owners sort it out, and mixed messages about it in searches. No soap in my bathroom, and I didn't notice till I was undressed, so couldn't pop down to reception. I washed with shampoo / conditioner. I also had trouble getting terrestrial channels other than streaming channels on the TV.

The location of the hotel not only right on the river but near family too. The price of our stay was exceptional and for that I would definitely go again. Although we didn’t eat at the Italian restaurant on site, we did have a drink at the bar and found a very good selection of bottles and draught lager and cider, wines etc and the staff were very polite and helpful.

The hotel is in need of some TLC although some things could stay to keep character of the hotel as I know it has history. However, new pillows, better shower system, but of a decoration but in keeping with the history.

Booked a couple of months in advance and got a very good price - £45 for the night - I noticed that it was more like £100 for the night when I looked (out of curiosity) the day before I arrived. Hotel is nice and the staff friendly. Had dinner in the bar (burger and chips), which was very good. Bed comfy (a little bit soft for me, but OK).

The hotel is showing it's age and is a little bit "frayed around the edges". Although very clean throughout, some of the paintwork could do with freshening up a bit and the carpets are a bit worn in places so the place looks a little bit "tired".

Although this is an older property, the staff are what made my visit amazing. The location was perfect for my trip. It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the rooms and some new facilities like the kettle (Room TS1). I will be back next year and hope to see the same staff.

The dining room was closed due to new management and I was unable to purchase any meals. I would have liked to have had a fridge in my room.

Good value for the location, close to Windsor but more economical than the venues in and around Windsor, and the free parking lot in back is a bonus. You can go for a riverside walk along the Thames right from the front door (to check out the historic Maidenhead Railway Bridge and the "Sounding Arch"), and Thai Orchid (just up the street) was an excellent choice for a delicious Thai dinner experience.

The continental breakfast (not included) in the on-site restaurant was overpriced and bland (but there's a good breakfast cafe a block away).

The whole stay was really good and in fairness to the staff, I arrived on a Saturday evening when things were busy, rugby on TV etc so raising someone to assist me when I arrived was tricky. The bar, room (including the level of heating), bar food room (terrific view of the river) and atmosphere were excellent and this is a really good hotel in my view.

I would have preferred the ability to warm croissants and a bit more variety (eg vegetarian friendly yoghurt) in the breakfast offering but there was nothing wrong with what I had. Good coffee too.

Very pleasant old-style ambience to the hotel. Lovely terrace overlooking the Thames. Friendly and helpful staff - and they found secure storage for our two bikes inside the hotel (previous stops on our tour we had to chain to a fence or drainpipe etc). Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked.

No food available on Sunday evening! However, we found the nearby Boathouse pub had a good menu and served until 9pm. The staff had advised us to try the new Hall and Woodhouse pub in Taplow, but that also stopped serving food at 6pm... So that worked well for three of us, bu the rest of our party arrived later and their only food option was a delivery from Dominos.
