Well located on the edge of the town,just a 10 minute stroll to the High Street. Good size, comfortable rooms,comfortable bed and excellent cotton bed linen,pillows, and duvet. Very good breakfast spread, attentive polite and courteous staff. Lovely grounds and outdoor seating area for food and beverages. Has a separate spa with Hydro jet pool,separately charged

The hotel has a lovely pool ,sauna, and steam rooms,but it's spoilt by the stampede of non hotel guests who take over early evening after work and spoil the atmosphere and are very loud.The hotel should have guests only as the facilities can only take so much,it foes not need outsiders to spoil the atmosphere. The bar menu and room service menu is overpriced and slow service,so pace your drinks while you wait ,vetter to hit the town. The showers in the bedrooms are not invigorating at all ,with very little pressure.

On arrival with my 10 month old daughter, I was informed I had been upgraded to a Junior Suite. This was a wonderful surprise after a day of travel and also worked out well as I could put her to bed in the bedroom, whilst spending the evening in the living area, so sleep was undisturbed. The hotel is beautiful and the staff well turned out, with nothing being too much trouble. The food offerings were also delicious, the crushed avocado at breakfast time and the crab linguine at supper time being particular favourites. The hotel is ideally located by the Severals and not far from the Bury Road entrance to the Gallops (I was here on horse business). On checkout, I had a meeting prior to my departure, and my luggage was carefully stored at reception and I received it back in perfect condition.

It would have been courteous for some help to be offered with my luggage (as I had two bags plus a baby in a carrier), and had to navigate a few doors, however I do appreciate there was only one person manning reception at that time.

We returned to Bedford Lodge to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary where we held our wedding reception. I was really pleased as we were able to stay in the same "Honeymoon Suite" we had all those years ago. The room was wonderful, very comfortable & spacious with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. We enjoyed some pre-dinner drinks & snacks in the bar & eat in the restaurant later in the evening. The service was excellent and food delicious. Breakfast in the morning comes with a large variety of options which can be ordered, is made fresh with table service. The portions sizes were very good and it all tasted great. My wife then went on to enjoy the spa with a friend and had the most relaxing & enjoyable day there.

We had some issues with the plumbing in the bathroom & due to the stay only being one night we reported it on check out. The staff were very apologetic and explained later the issue was fixed quickly after we had left. The issue was addressed with the hotel to my satisfaction. Worth to note that the room itself is above the bar and the music/noise from the bar can be heard until it closes so early & light sleepers be aware as this might not be the room for you.

Loved this hotel. Clean, comfortable, good amenities. I liked the little touches. They have a turn down service, so someone comes round in the evening to see if you need any fresh towels, more tea or coffee etc, which I really appreciated. Fridge in room, always great, complete with fresh milk and bottled mineral water. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Good breakfast. Decent pool with sauna, steam and jacuzzi. We didn't use the spa, but it looked lovely. Peaceful, relaxing and restful stay. Will definitely return.

Last minute booking and was very happy with choice. Lovely, clean hotel with a big, well equiped gym. Pool, steam room and sauna were great too - just what was needed. Breakfast was lovely and well presented. Didn't have dinner in the hotel as fully booked but heard food was good. Spa in a separate building from hotel but unfortunately was fully booked too, so will book ahead in future. A number of restaurants and food shops in close proximity. Good quality tea, water and toiletries provided in the room. Staff were brilliant - very polite and helpful. They couldn't do enough for you! Will definately be back.

The only negative was the lack of plug sockets in the room, with none located near the bed

The room exceeded my expectations. Booking the executive suite I expected space, but didn't expect a terrace, which was lovely to relax on when we got back from dinner. The added touches to the room for my partners birthday were fantastic and very elegantly done. The two boys on reception & the swimming pool staff couldn't have been more helpful. This is our second stay at Bedford Lodge and we plan to stay again.

The continental breakfast is relatively basic but the actual breakfast menu compensates for that.

The couple on the table next to us loved Pinot Grigio wine. They came on a package which included Pinot Grigio wine with dinner. They had Pinot Grigio in the bar which they liked but were served a sub standard white wine at the table which the manager tried to pass off as Pinot Grigio. The bottle didn’t say what it was but the manager said this was the wine they had to have. I think it was sharp practice to offer Pinot Grigio on a package & then not deliver it. This couple were very sweet but very upset but didn’t want to cause a fuss with the overbearing manager.

Lovely looking building, easy to access/park. The restaurant staff were fabulous especially our waitress Shelley and the lady in charge. Food was delicious in the Squires restaurant and the chef ably catered to my gluten and cows milk intolerance needs. Didn’t get the friendliest of greetings on arrival but reception staff were helpful and attentive from then on! Room was clean and well appointed.

Major downside was noise of the aircon units outside on the ground beneath our room which whirred throughout the night. Was glad I had my earplugs but felt bad for my husband who didn’t! Also room was about 30 degrees when we first arrived but Callum on reception did get it sorted quickly.

I had interpreted that the spa was at the hotel and inclusive. There is a useful gym and pool/ sauna at the hotel but my expectation was that I was paying for a lovely spa which is seperate to the hotel and not inclusive unfortunately

The setting is lovely as are the grounds. The rooms were very clean and the turn down service was second to none. Nicely decorated throughout.

Not made to feel very welcome while using the health club- not by the staff, but sadly by the locals using it. I understand this must be an issue as old as time- reliant upon the local community to make the health spa profitable and providing it as a facility to the guests of the hotel. Not sure what the solution is…
