Very friendly and helpful staff. We caused a blown fuse (our fault) and were left with wet hairs at a time that the pub was still closed and no staff present. They came immediately to the rescue snd solved our problem. The beds were excellent (boxsprings) and the room was comfortable and spacious. Lovely old building, great pub with good food.

The rather small shower cabin in the bathroom was old and worn, but clean. You could sometimes hear another door slam shut or other people walking, but in such a lovely old building that is easy to accept.

Management and staff were really welcoming and accommodating. Nice decor with a peaceful location. Really good value for money and nothing is too much trouble, very clean well kept rooms with fresh decor, tea and coffee facilities. Food in the pub downstairs is really nice, We will definitely return for another stay.

Not really a complaint to be had.. There wasn’t any Shower gel in the bathroom but that was solved easy enough, and I believe there is usually breakfast or a breakfast hamper but there wasn’t on this occasion.

Lovely, friendly staff - we got given a drink on the house as it was our 2nd time staying! Nice and peaceful area. Would definitely reccommend & we will be coming back for sure!

The only thing with the shared bathroom is there's a massive panel of wood going across above the bath so if you were to use the shower you can't stand up properly but apart from that everything else was fantastic!

The staff are so friendly and so accommodating. the food was amazing and quality service.

The only thing that let it down for me was the water pressure in the outside buildings (room 8) was non existent in the shower which was a shame as I look forward to a nice shower at the end of a long day. Hopefully this can be fixed in the future somehow as the staff especially the owner was great to speak to I could have spent hours with them. The staff and food was amazing!

Food was excellent but my steak pie only served warm could have been hotter but was lovely and tasty that would be my only criticism, but was my choice not to report to staff I did not complain .

Staff are exceptional and a credit to the owner. It's a lovely Village Pub with good food. It has a couple of minor flaws for me but I will likely stay again. Room sizes of the back building are great with a nice view over the horse paddock.

Internet coverage is woeful and more or less non existent if you don't stay in the main building. Mattresses feel like they could do with changing soon and the showers were also a bit lack lustre. These are important aspects I look for when travelling for work.

At the Golden Boar the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The pub itself is cozy and offers plenty of entertainment so chances are you’ll get to see a band playing if you go at the weekend! The bedrooms had been updated with new carpet, curtains and freshly painted walls. The room came with towels, a kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits and a huge wall mounted TV. I have back and neck problems but I didn’t need to worry because the bed was extremely comfortable. The fresh white sheets made the bed very inviting too! The shower in our en suite had awesome pressure as well.

The only improvement I can think of would be if they offered a fry up breakfast in the morning. I know their food is great because I’ve eaten there a couple of times so they could provide an amazing fry up!! x

Absolutely amazing place so picturesque, wildlife bird’s singing, squirrels, locals and people in the Golden Boar so friendly welcoming and loved Bobby Greenmile my dog.

That Booking.com were not transparent about the location, I was unaware it was so far from Newmarket and no means of getting to Newmarket unless a £17 cab.

The staff where great on arrival and we checked in with ease and got straight into our room which was clean and comfortable and separate from the main building. Although this is a pub the area is so quite once the patrons have gone home allowing for a good nights rest.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect - a pretty village, with beautiful scenery all around. Our room was a good size, peaceful and airy. And very dog friendly

Nothing was wrong. An option of breakfast might have been nice, but wasn't really a problem for us
