Very friendly owners who went the extra mile to welcome their guests. They even apologised for the poor weather. The room was freshly renovated and very comfortable. Only a short walk to Newquay town centre. Breakfast was excellent and mainly uses local produce, the eggs were a really nice bright colour. The owners go out of their way to accommodate special dietary requirements especially if advised at the time of booking. Parking is very good, but with limited numbers so be sure to book in advance.

The weather was terrible which meant we couldn't really enjoy Newquay or in fact much of Cornwall.

From the friendly welcome from John and Amy through to the well presented and very clean and confirmable room to the excellent full English Breakfast, there was nothing to complain about during our stay. Even at the end John kindly allowed us to leave our car on the site for a few hours while we grabbed some last minute beach time. A thoroughly great few days, and we're very happy to recommend Geckos Rest.

There was nothing not to like. If I was really pressed the toilet/shower was slightly small, but that was indicated in the information prior to booking. No, really, nothing was not to like.

We had great communication and were made to feel immediately welcome. The accommodation was spotless and our room was modern and the bed so comfy. We had a great choice for breakfast and the food was delicious. As an added bonus park immediately out the front. The accommodation was in a great location and a 5 minute walk to shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family 😊

When I booked this hotel I went on reviews it was rated excellent and it was Cannot fault this place to stay hosts was very polite friendly and couldn't be any more helpful we arrived very early at 10.0 clock and has booking in is not until 2 pm we were allowed to park in car park while our room was being prepared. Excellant cooked breakfast plenty of Choices, room spotlessly clean had every thing you needed, location from town great but a very steep hill up to hotel could be a problem if you have difficulty walking. I would definitely reccomend and return to this hotel Aug 2023

We absolutely loved our stay in Geckos Rest, John and Amy were amazing hosts. The room was absolutely spotless and in an amazing location. You literally just walk across the road down a little walkway and you're right in Newquay town. Breakfast was delicious every morning. John was so so helpful telling us all the places around to visit. we'd highly recommend Geckos rest to everyone! Thank you so much John and Amy

Couldn't fault one thing!

Lovely B&B! There are absolutely incredible views of the sea from the hotel’s windows. Perfect location, it’s very close to the sea, city centre and some of the attractions of Newquay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, great variety of food for you to chose, always fresh and tasty. Very nice hosts, it’s always pleasant to have a chat with them. Rooms are always clean and you can find everything you need in there, there also is a very cosy atmosphere. Lounge is so cool, perfect common area to sit with your drink, play games, watch something or even read a book. If you run out of your snacks or milk and coffee from the room, you always can purchase some snacks and take coffee and fresh milk for free. 10/10!

Everything was great.

We enjoyed our stay from the beginning to the end. Any and John are very friendly, helpful and professional at the same time - one of the best hosts we had. They thought of every little aspect of theirs guests stay - including an option of packed breakfast if you leaving earlier or want to have a lay in in the morning. We found Geckos Rest spotlessly clean and well organised. Room was comfortable, and had all amenities that we needed. We definitely will book again.

I enjoyed my stay at Geckos Rest, the owners were very friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. We was initially provided with an overview of the area and things that were close to the accommodation. The breakfast provided was perfect and the level of service that was provided was unexpected. The room was very comfortable and cleaned daily and in a great location. I would highly recommend Geckos Rest to anyone visiting Newquay.

John was a perfect host from the minute we arrived until we left Happy to answer any of our questions and give us advise on travel and locations to visit room was clean shower very good breakfast was made to order and was very good would recommend Geckos Rest to anyone looking for a good place to stay.Johns partner was also very helpful.

Location was good, easy to find, parking a bonus. Our room had a wonderful view over the town to the sea and the room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, nothing too much trouble, John always with a smile and Amy cooks a lovely breakfast. Thank you both for a very enjoyable stay.

If we had one very, very small criticism it would be the water pressure for the shower in a morning, but as we were on the top floor and obviously everyone is using the water then it is not surprising and is not uncommon. It will definitely not put us off coming again and requesting the same room.
