Location, hotel has loads of character. Staff very efficient and helpful, I do like this hotel.

It's a beautiful hotel. The staff were all so helpful, friendly and welcoming, both with enquiries beforehand, and whilst we were there. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. We were especially pleased for the price we paid.

The pool facilities were undergoing maintenance, but it was very out of tourist season for this area, so completely understandable and we were told in advance. But it's the only thing that would have made the stay better at all. Still absolutely delighted for the price.

We had read previous reviews and some were not favourable and we weren’t expecting too much. However, great location, only £5 a day for the car park (capped at £15 per week), friendly staff, clean very large room, the little pool was great with towels provided. Good night’s sleep and good breakfast. Large areas in the hotel with sofas and chilling out seating and large outdoor space with sea views.

Just that the hotel is a bit dated but you could see how amazingly opulent it would have been back in the day. For the price we paid it was clean and fair and doesn’t claim to be anything more than a three star. Maybe put some shower gel and conditioning shampoo in dispensers in the changing area near the pool please.

Breakfast was great, room and view were stunning. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The view from thew room, the breakfast tables, any window you care to glance out of were just beautiful. Breakfast was great. Pool, Jacuzzi and sauna were awesome Lots of handy local amenities. We had a great holiday and did not want to leave.

A few things that were a little tired and could do with updating/ replacing. The decking on the Balcony for example. The balcony rail was also wobbly, just needs a bolt replacing. Can see a few areas that just require a little TLC - however could also see where this was boing done. Steam room didn't work during our stay.

The general vibe of the hotel. You can imagine people in 1930s dresses having cocktails in the lounge while watching the beautiful ocean. Breakfast was great. You can have a good workout in the gym even if the equipment is not modern, they have a couple of 20kg plates, so even stronger people will have a good time. I visited a couple of Newquay beaches, and the Great Western Beach -the closest- is my favourite. It's not the biggest, but it's lovely and the great Steam Bar is just on the hill next to it, so you can have good lunches and drinks whenever you want.

The elevator needs fixing, but to my knowledge, they are working on it, on the upside I could eat more without putting on weight.

Location was great. It was clean and the staff all friendly and helpful. We got discount drinks at the Irish Bar next door - 10% and 20% off our meal at Senor Dicks also adjoined to the hotel and once again very friendly staff, good prices and nice food and drinks. The hotel does look tired and could do with being upgraded but that also adds to it's charm. A lovely view from the breakfast room out onto the ocean and drinks can also be taken outside. My partner also commented that it was one of the best breakfast's had in a while at a hotel and we do travel a lot so stay in many places. There is also a pool and gym. Would recommend.

Not the hotel's fault but the Seagull that loved to visit us each morning at 6.00am and tap on our window. However, it did make us smile as when it first happened it sounded like a human knocking on the window then realised we were 3 floors up. I think made a friend lol.

Staff were lovely and polite. Pool and gym facilities on site which was brilliant on rainy days. Excellent location. Breakfast was lovely and cheap and affordable. £6 when you order it the night before. Clean and very comfortable

There was an old man who was a member of staff who was always grumpy and told kids off over little things. Very very rude and made us feel uncomfortable at times. Would grumble rude things about us under his breath and not sure if he was behaving this way towards us because we were Asian. We found him very rude towards us. He wasn’t behaving this way towards other white families

The outstanding aspect of this hotel was the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to answer any questions and provide us with what we needed. This was especially important in the dining area as we have specific dietary requirements and the dining room staff were pleased to supply gluten free cereal and bread and non-dairy milk. They also helped with restaurant recommendations.

We had a room at the front of the hotel and we found the main road to be quite noisy right into the night. Unfortunately we had to keep the window open as the room was vey hot and a little stuffy, even though the outdoor temps were quite mild - about 16 degrees Celcius. However, a tabvle-top fan was provided in the room, which helped.

A beautiful Victorian building in an excellent central position. Very clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. Superb hot and cold food selection for breakfast. Also there is a new lift which works fine

I think the hotel would benefit from having evening food. This would be ideal for the more elderly guests or people with mobility issues. Also because of the lovely spacious setting I'm sure this would attract customers from outside. There are many eateries within Newquay but they all seem to be full to capacity and are all providing the same fast food/street food options. I would have gladly paid more to have been able to eat within the hotel.

The Victoria Hotel is a a fantastic Victorian hotel in the centre of Newquay. The location is very good for travel connections such as bus and train. The most outstanding feature is the huge central staircase and sea view from some rooms. The rooms we comfortable and clean and with a wide range of room of doubles and family rooms are available. The staff were friendly and made us welcome. The breakfast was OK with a full English available and some other buffet options.

While all the key areas for guests have been refurbished such as the rooms and lift. The communal areas such as the stairs are very tired in some areas the carpet has been repaired with duck tape. I get the impression they are working their way though the hotel with a priority list to repair things. While parking was available it was a little small as cars have become bigger now so can be tight to get out of.
