We loved this B&B and were very happy with our visit. Because of staff shortages during the COVID spell, kitchen staff has been difficult for the owner to hire - making the kitchen unable to serve an evening meal, although a breakfast is available presided over by Gayle who makes you very welcome and provides what I think is, a smashing breakfast. The owner, Wendy, also runs a sister hotel called the WROXHAM which is a small drive away. The food there is excellent and because we were visitors to the Scarborough Inn we were given 10% off each meal and made to feel very welcome indeed. The overall feel of the Scarborough was, to us, great. Its an old 15th century home that has been added to over the years. The acreage is vast and there are many walks to be had. The Hotel is dog friendly and the pooch is made welcome too with its own bed, water and feeding bowl. On the whole we loved the Scarborough and felt very comfortable in our well appointed room.

There was nothing we did not like about the Scarborough. The owner is managing two very successful businesses and her love for the Scarborough is plain to see. She is renovating the Scarborough all the time and all bathrooms and bedrooms are very clean and well appointed. We liked everything.

The location was excellent and the room was, for the most part, very clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful! The few staff we saw were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was fabulous, and the bed huge!

The bed was a little hard for my preference, I didn’t manage to get the shower temperature quite right and the breakfast was buffet style which is obviously not wonderful when wanting the ‘full English’ option, scrambled egg doesn’t like hanging round! But there was a lot of variety of alternative options (croissants don’t need a dusting of icing sugar and should be twice the size!). Unfortunately the hot option was cold on the second day and there wasn’t anyone around to tell. We only saw staff on Sunday morning and one poor woman serving breakfast drinks on Monday morning…

Gorgeous hotel. Excellent value. We were told in advance that there would be no-one to check us in, but this was not a problem as our key was waiting at reception in an envelope addressed to us, with a welcome letter and contact details if we had any issues. Gorgeous room, very tastefully decorated, very clean and very quiet. We were met by the staff the next morning and they were just lovely. We had a great breakfast, plenty of choice. Check out was 11am but we asked if we could have an extra hour, and they were more than happy to oblige at no extra cost. We will definitely be staying again.

We stayed in room 2. Beautiful room, but we had just 1 tiny complaint. I couldn't see, or reach, the controls for the shower! It is placed too high on the wall and I am only 5ft 2ins, with bad eyesight! This didn't spoil our stay in any way.

The room and standard of the property generally was very good and the breakfast superb.

It didn't bother us, but the signage suggests that there is more available than Bed and Breakfast and I can understand why some folks have been disappointed that there is no bar or arrangements for dinner. Whilst we could "check in" very easily, it is slightly disconcerting that there is no one around at all to meet and greet and we were really surprised to see lots of other folks at breakfast next morning as there was an air of the "Marie Celeste" about the reception and building when we arrived.

Beautifully decorated throughout with lovely outdoor spaces to relax Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection, all freshly prepared and self service so you were able to get what you wanted without being overfaced

On booking should have checked that there was a restaurant and bar for the evening ,although only a couple of miles to local restaurants it required a drive which limited the option for wine etc with evening meal,the room was quite small with very little space for clothes toiletries,which although only there a couple of nights we were touring the area so had a fair amount of luggage

Excellent breakfast with plenty of dishes both hot and cold. Fresh fruit salad, strawberries and blueberries complemented a superb choice of pastries and cereals etc. with a hot buffet providing a traditional cooked breakfast. The indoor hotel facilities extended to various outdoor seating areas for relaxation in the tranquil, beautiful grounds. While there was no on site restaurant or bar there was every opportunity to enjoy your own drinks/food there (an available fridge and glasses etc. were provided) but also good eateries to try within a short driving distance. The room was well presented, clean and very comfortable with top class Elemis toiletries and decent toilet paper - not always a given!! Above all the staff were superb - efficient, kind, friendly and helpful in every way. They ensured a very special Norfolk experience. Thank you Candice and all.

The hot breakfast was very nice and our room was modern and clean, with an excellent shower in the bathroom. The members of staff we met were very polite and helpful. There was one member of staff in particular, called Allison, who went to great lengths to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. We are very grateful to her. It was quiet in our room with views of the garden. With the weather being overcast, it was very pleasant to spend a relaxing afternoon in our room, enjoying the excellent facilities provided. We had a lovely break, overall, so thank you.

The wash basin in the bathroom (although modern and nice to look at) was too small and had no hot water available. The flow of water was very slow too. There was no bar and no evening meal available at the premises, which wouldn't have mattered, had there been a means to walk into town without having to walk on the road for a while. We like to walk and to have a drink (or two) with our evening meal. I would happily pay more to have these facilities available at the hotel.

Arrived late at hotel, after 9pm. Key was left in an envelope addressed to me on the front desk. Decor of the whole hotel was outstanding. Really looked like someone had an eye for attention to detail. Really stylish, nice choice of colours, furniture etc. Room was lovely. Not a large room, but large enough for one night. Bathroom was delightful, clearly recently refurbished, with lovely interesting tiles on the floor, an excellent large 90x90cm shower and modern sink, WC etc. Lovely clean large bath towels on the bed and hand towels in the bathroom. Coffee choices in the morning in the room, SUPERB. Chose the coffee bags, water boiled in a lovely little Dualit kettle, but could have chosen from many other options. I don't think I've ever seen so many options, simply in a room. Bed was smaller than the King Size we're used to at home, but very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning downstairs was outstanding. Such an amazing choice of things to eat. All beautifully presented. This hotel is really making a fantastic effort and I admire them for it. Would happily stay again, any time.

Bed was smaller than we are used to, but very comfortable. Toilet seat wasn't soft close. It's no big deal, but nowadays, I think all toilet seats should be soft close. It's so much more pleasant than it slamming down. You just have to take more care I guess. Bathroom fitter has missed some of the silver caps inside the shower cubicle. Not something that most guests would ever notice, but as someone who has fitted a few bathrooms, it would be nice to get them on there. To make the lovely shower room even more complete.

The room we had (room 1) was very comfortable, soft bed & the room smelt wonderful. I was pleased that we had a full bath with shower over. Plenty of space for our clothes too. Breakfast was varied & plentiful. Fresh fruit, pastries, cooked meats & a full cooked breakfast was on offer too. A special thank you to member of staff, Alison, a charming lady who had a smile for everyone even though she was very busy. Thank you for sorting out our sash windows & for the delicious cooked breakfasts. Would definitely stay here again.

The entire place was nicely decorated and very clean, whilst the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Plenty of space for parking, and the resident's lounge (with tea/coffee facilities as well as plates etc left out for use) was a nice touch. No dining on site, but I managed to pick up some dinner in the Sainsbury's which is only 5 minutes or so away by car.

I would have liked to know in advance that I was the only person on site for most of the evening - no staff at all, so I collected my key from the desk and instructions were provided as to how to find the room. I actually rather enjoyed having the place to myself, but as a solo traveller it would have been good to know in advance. I specifically booked a room with a bath, but could see that the room I booked had been allocated to another guest which meant I only had a shower which was a shame, but with no staff on hand to ask I didn't feel I could just switch the rooms around!
