The location of the hotel was perfect, very central to the town. The parking was also excellent and we appreciated being able to get a free space. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also of a good size with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and attentive, on reception, in the bar and at breakfast, and also the cleaning staff. The bar was lovely with a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was superb! All in all, a great value for money staff and very enjoyable.

I would say that the bathroom could do with a fan for the condensation to clear after a shower. And at least one USB socket would have been helpful. These are very minor points however.

Several options for breakfast - we opted for cooked on both mornings. Good quality ingredients which were well presented and staff were efficient and pleasant. Thankfully there was no background music either. Something we both groan about when met with piped tunes blaring out first thing. We didn’t eat any other meals here, so can’t comment.

Car parking is v limited and is on a first come first served basis. Fair enough. On arrival there were two cars, parked side by side, and the owners had thoughtlessly parked over four spaces in all. We did mention it at reception, and were told the matter would be dealt with. Sadly both cars were still in-situ when we left. Shame.

The staff were all delightful, friendly and efficient. Special thanks has to go Shanice (I hope I have spelled that correctly) on reception on Sunday evening who went out of her way, first to find my friends and I a table for Sunday evening dinner and then to help one of my companions sort out some complicated travel arrangements.

I was on a ground floor room at the front of the building which meant being right beside the road. Luckily it was a Sunday evening so there was not a lot of traffic. I did jump when someone walking past seemed to bang on the window but overall it did not affect my stay, nor my impression of the hotel.

All the staff were very welcoming and pleasant but The Hotel Management Apprentice, Shanice went to an exceptional level to make us feel welcome and help us even before we arrived with information about places to visit and as we couldn't eat in the hotel on the Saturday night, places to eat.. She is going to go far in the business when she finishes her apprenticeship. The room was clean, light and airy with very fresh decoration and the bathroom was clean and excellent. Excellent Roast on the Sunday Night.

Finding the carpark and then parking were difficult but I expect you can't help the size. Breakfast was a disappointing choice though the flavour was good good and cardboard toast WHY??? I solved part of it the 2nd morning by bring the coffee from my room down.

Excellent staff who were very polite, friendly and helpful immediately we arrived. Beautifully refurbished hotel which was very comfortable and clean with a lovely area to sit outside at the rear. Great breakfast selection and efficient staff. A lovely stay and would definitely return.

Only a small thing. The bedside tables were round with no storage underneath so things fell off down the back. The car park is quite tight but to be fair to them, vehicles are much bigger these days which impacts their available space which was probably adequate previously.

Chose the Wysteria for it's proximity to the centre and wasn't disappointed. Arrived at about 5.15pm on a Friday and had no trouble parking at the Hotel. I could also see plenty of nearby parking too. Room okay, bathroom good. Big bed was very comfortable and breakfast very good. All the staff very friendly and helpful; especially the bar staff who were delightful.

Decor throughout the hotel needs refreshing, old fashioned Yale type key locks would be better as key cards, and a few creaky floorboards, but overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely little hotel in Oakham. Location is excellent for the town centre (we were there for an Oakham School function so literally just down the road). Staff were welcoming, room was clean with the usual facilities, shower was good and it was nice and quiet. Breakfast, whilst on the smaller side for a Full English, was lovely, and it's a pleasant environment. Carpark is small and tight to get in and out of the spaces (especially with a typically oversized SUV) but we did nab a space so all good on that front, too. Absolutely would use Wisteria Hotel again.

Nothing to dislike. As with anywhere, it's possible to pick holes but there really is no need.

Nice size room. Very good breakfast. Clean both in public rooms and bedrooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Well situated and Oakham is a little gem.

Car park is very tight- I drive a big car and it was definite squeeze. Weather was hot (for me) at 32deg and although there was a fan in the room there was no external air movement thus very warm night's sleep. I'd have happily paid a premium for air conditioning! But both of these are First World problems, though. I'd love to visit in the autumn or winter.

Very friendly hotel with good facilities. Great position in town. I was travelling with my son and wife and stayed in a single room which was spacious. Plenty of hot water (don't always get this in all hotels) and great to have electrics under dressing table mirror. Comfortable bed - very cosy. Brilliant breakfast.

Very minor critique in that there could have been more milk in the room (we got back late evening and had drinks so not much for morning)

I had booked a single room but was pleased to find a roomy three--quarter sized bed that was very comfortable. The room was well-equipped and I was delighted with the fan provided for the warm conditions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I informed the hotel of my dietary needs and the chef pulled out all the stops to provide two delicious evening meals that met all my requirements, thank you.

The hotel is old and traditional and everything possible has been done to provide modern shower facilities. However, the cold water tap ran warm for a long time before running cold. The staff gave me a large bottle of cold water each evening, which was very helpful.
