The experience at the hotel was amazing. Everything from arrival to departure was spot on. The room was pleasant with lovely views. The breakfast and evening meals were amazing, a good choice to cater for all types of pallets. The location was outstanding, from our table we looked over the fields. The staff made us feel welcome and were very smartly dressed. Nothing was too much trouble, everybody in the hotel made our stay one to remember.
The shower in the hotel room was abit fierce. I slipped in the bath as the slip matt had lost its grip (room 27). The fan in the bathroom stays on for about 15 minutes after the lights are turned off which can be abit noisy.

Lovely location. Hotel has a small vegetable garden which we enjoyed looking around and talking to the gardeners.
We’ve been a few times and enjoyed staying. We previously had a very warm welcome on arrival and information given to us about the hotel and facilities was freely given. However this time we were welcomed, but I think the receptionist was distracted by something else. Not sure what though. The receptions experience wasn’t similar to previous visits. We had to ask about several things. In addition, at our last visit the spa was being built, we therefore asked about when the new outdoor spa would be available to guests. It was opened earlier in August, but nothing had been said on our arrival to indicate it was now available.

Breakfast - good choices - well presented (the addition of fish would have been a bonus) , and well cooked Room comfortable but the addition of two comfortable chairs in a double room is a must appreciated addition of bottled milk and water - a very nice touch ALL staff unfailingly helpful and a delight with whom to pass the time of day
No provision for a semi-private lounge area - two sofas in full view of dining area does not provide the setting for a relaxed half-hour when needed Not sufficient "specials" on the supper menu and somewhat overpriced Would have appreciated biscuits on hospitality tray EVERY day, not just on arrival - too many choices of tea and coffee

Room was lovely and very suitable for my Husband who is ill and disabled . This break to visit the global birdfair was was the first we had in over a year due to my husbands cancer. Food was excellent and my husband found food he could eat . Friends who joined us for dinner was also very impressed. The views, peace and quiet was appreciated as was the courtyard flowers for wildlife. Bonus was the adorable cattle
We were a little close to the event barn that had outdoor barbecue and unfortunately the smoke drifted into our room. Fortunately the event finished at 11pm so we were not disturbed too much. A minor nuisance solved by shutting the windows.

The staff are exceptionally, location is lovely and only a short walk from the water, great parking and pet friendly rooms
The menu was all a bit indulgent - it would be nice if there was either a lite bite menu or a “bar food” - we arrived quite late and I would have actually preferred to have more of a “snack” type supper than a meal - hubby really fancied a steak but again thought £38 (prob closer to 45 with add ons) was too much for a Sunday night tea - and would soon add up if you was staying a few nights so might encourage you not to use their facilities as much which would be a shame also though the beverages was quite expensive however that wouldn’t stop you staying but would certainly be a budget consideration

Lovely staff, great location with a fabulous outdoor spa. We had a lovely surprise with welcome glass of mulled wine, cookies and ginger wine in the room. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and really good service and meal in the restaurant. We had a lovely view from our room with amazing sunrise and could see Rutland Water and fields. The spa was so relaxing and beautiful with the steam rising in the sunset and glass of bubbles in the hot tub whilst watching the highland cows.
Slight smell from the bathroom.

Friendly staff and clean accommodation. The shower was over the bath and not easy to access if you have back problems as we do. If we had been staying longer we would have requested an opportunity to change rooms. My wife has a dairy sensitivity and this was well catered for until our final meal. We both chose a fish dish and the dip for my wife was supposed to be dairy free. We believe the 2 plates were confused by the member of staff when served. Although she had only a taste, we were wary and it was left. The hotel was in beautiful grounds and a beautiful area for a holiday.
Apart from the slight mishap with the one meal and the shower access, nothing

Having stayed recently at your sister hotel @ Elcot Park we were really looking forward to The Barnsdale. Hadn't stayed before so couldn't compare with it before. Really impressed by both staff , building/rooms and bar/restaurant. Bar was particularly good. Design overall was excellent
Only small things really: - Whilst waiting at bar for a drink at least 2 members of staff walked past without asking if they could help. Shouldn't happen - Also at reception was kept waiting whilst member of staff on phone. Interestingly the reception service @ Elcot not brilliant either - Bathroom I suspect had been refurbed and was a little shoddy, i.e. tongue & groove in bad state and shower leaked - Price

An excellent quiet location, yet just a few miles from the A1 so ideal for our overnight stop. Plenty of car parking and a lovely quiet room overlooking the courtyard. Our evening meal was very tasty and well presented, the staff were welcoming and friendly. We would definitely stay here again as Rutland is a good central location.

The staff were exceptional, so friendly and accommodating and epitome of customer service. We couldn't have wanted for anything more from them - they were by far the biggest credit to the hotel. The accommodation was exceptional, it was pouring it down when we visited but my son wanted to puddle jump so we went and found some, there was a lovely little child play area that he was loving and definitely would have got more out of in sunshine. The room was immaculate, we were in a family room and my son loved the little touches in his room. In our room the ginormous bed and comfy chairs meant we had loads of space to entertain my son and chill once he had gone to bed. I'm rarely able to sleep very well in hotel beds because I'm quite picky and get quite uncomfortable due to a car accident a few years ago - but the beds were divine and I slept so well. The food and drinks were gorgeous, we had breakfast and a lunch meal. I had the Brut which was gorgeous and my husband the house red which he really enjoyed. If you're staying a breakfast is a must if only to get to use the gorgeous tea china, I desperately need to find the pattern for my house :D. What you want from a break is to feel fully relaxed and I've come back into work feeling that I was spoilt and re-energised to get to the end of the year. We can't wait to come back!
Nothing, absolutely perfect.
