This is a centrally located hotel with plenty of parking. The local bus going to the city centre stops close to the hotel. We had arrived quite early for checking in as we were meeting friends for lunch. Although our room wasn't ready, the hotel was happy for us to leave our car there. There is a large reading room/ounge and a good sized bar room. There is seating outside on a veranda in front of the hotel but one is not overlooked from the street because of large trees on the perimeter. There is also an inner coiurtyard with tables and chairs. The bedroom was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the wifi worked very well. The breakfast, continental and English, was excellent. In fact, we need to be in Oxford in a month's time and have again reserved a room here. .

The only problem was it was a very hot day, about 26 C, and although the top half of the window was open, the room remained quite warm. With hindsight, we should have asked for a fan.

Location was excellent, just a short walk to the centre. Staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was good with a good choice of cooked options, (eggs royals etc.) as well as continental. We didn’t use the hotel restaurant to dine at night, but it was good to have the option. Parking was easy in the hotel car park with plenty of space. Very nice looking property with the added bonus of outside seats for a drink as the weather was good on a night. Close walking proximity to another couple of nice restaurants.

Pillows originally supplied in the room were hard but were quickly swopped for soft feather ones the next morning after we asked. We would have perhaps preferred tablecloths on the tables at breakfast because the table surfaces ( 2 different tables) felt sticky although spotlessly clean

Room was beautiful - spacious and decorative with great bed and comfortable furniture. Bathroom was large with good bath and shower facilities (see below), I asked and got a room with limited staircase access and the room was breathtaking.

cold tap in bathroom was not functioning but was mended on our second day when reported to the desk- Felt it was too late in day to ask for help on first night, Breakfast was fine and the service friendly and efficient - tables are a little small imo so it was a little difficult to manouver. plates and cups but manageable - evening meal on second night was disappointing in that my wifes potatoes were not cooked and the vegetables not to her taste, My fish and chips were tasty. We received complementary coffee when staff were made aware

Excellent restaurant varied menu and lovely dining room, helpful staff. Location is ideal, 20 minute walk into the centre of Oxford and bus stops nearby

Dead hanging baskets outside and some neglected maintenance throughout the property. Planting outside, including hanging baskets has been abandoned, well maintained hanging baskets would be wonderful but just removing the dead ones would be a big improvement. Other examples of neglect include; there is access to the corridor from a flat roof with tar footprints on the carpet where someone has walked across wet tar on the roof and onto the carpet. These stains could easily be removed. There has obviously been a water leak above the dining room, the dining room ceiling is stained, it needs re-painting. This detracts from an otherwise lovely room. These little jobs would make a huge difference to the hotel.

The Cotswold Lodge Hotel was a lovely place to stay. We were contacted directly by booking staff after I emailed asking to extend our reservation by a day. The booking agent was very helpful and courteous and added the extra night with no issue. Our room on the garden terrace was quaint and charming. The location was great and it was so wonderful to be able to park on site! We enjoyed having breakfast every day before we headed out for a long day of site seeing. It was delicious and the service was great! The dining room also served a delicious meal and hospitable service. It was a beautiful and wonderful place to stay, we couldn't have been happier!

We liked the property’s location which was only about a 20 minute walk into the city centre. We also liked the free onsite car parking although the manager did have to move his car to create a space for us. The room itself felt a bit tired but it was a good size with a nice comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and more imaginative than the usual full English fayre which made a nice change. We had dinner in the bar on one evening which was very good, as was a light lunch we had.

Not a lot to dislike really other than the toilet seat in the bathroom has been incorrectly fitted and was most uncomfortable. Personally we dislike showers over baths. We could hear the guest moving around upstairs, the floor was very creaky.

Small but functional room with reasonable size table for work. Very good breakfast with personalized service including tailored cooked breakfast. First rate quality produce/ingredients used. Nice country feel to the hotel. Near bus stop to town centre.

On warm/humid days, the room becomes uncomfortable(almost unbearable) due to a lack of airconditioning. Small fan helps but I would say the lack of cooling is the main drawback. Would be great stay for other seasons.

15 mins walk to the city centre or a bus every 7 mins! Plenty of hotel car parking. The room was well appointed and clean, a bath with shower over. We were on the 2nd floor - no lift - but helpful staff who carried luggage on arrival. Breakfast was made up of help yourself - cereal - fruit; and a choice of items which are cooked upon order - the omelette is a good choice. Gluten free bread available.

The staff need a little instruction on the diet requirements of guests - my wife is coeliac and is unable to eat gluten but did not understand that gluten is found in sausage. The pillows were a little hard. No lift to the 2nd floor.

We stayed just one night during an early autumn heatwave which this traditional English hotel -- and England in general -- are not used to, -- i.e., no air conditioning, or even windows that are easily opened. The hotel is excellently located in a quiet suburban area just a mile north of the centre of Oxford, on an easy bus route, and hsplenty of secure parking on the premises if you arrive by car. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Our room was comfortable and very well appointed. Spacious bathroom.

No air-c0nditioning.

The staff that we met were welcoming, friendly and professional. Some were very new and were clearly well trained. The rooms are clean and comfortable, beautifully furnished, the lounges spacious and comfortable, the bar is well stocked. The hotel is superbly located for getting to the centre of Oxford. We caught the bus everyday outside the hotel and it was a short ride. It is also walkable. The breakfasts were delicious, either continental or full English, and the staff attentive.

We wished we hadn’t bothered booking evening meal for too many reasons to state here and it would detract from just how good the hotel was without it. There are some superb restaurants nearby and we would just use these in future.
