The location couldn't be better - in the heart of Oxford, so just about everything that Oxford is renowned for is within easy walking distance. The history of Bath Place added to the interest and to the overall enjoyment of staying with you. Have the 'full English' breakfast to set yourself up for the day.

Our room was right above the entrance to one of the oldest pubs in Oxford - The Turf Inn - which is popular with students and tourists alike. The evenings at the pub were busy but not 'shouty-shouty', raucous noisy, and while the noise didn't really bother us, it could possibly annoy guests who might want to go to bed early. A specific point: the fire door outside our room (#6 on the second floor) closes automatically on a spring, and when most people come through the door they just let it go after opening it, and it bangs shut - not great after midnight when many guests return to the hotel!

It was in a great location. The hotel was old and had character. The continental breakfast was very good. There is a very old pub literally next door going down an alley where we had a night cap.

The bedroom was rather dated. New bedding is needed. The security light outside beamed through the top of the curtains so couldn't sleep very well. Curtain rail needs to be moved up and the curtains need a blackout. The shower was cold but it was soon rectified as the plumber happened to come that day. There were no street maps available which is usually found as photocopies in hotels. It was suggested that I buy a map at the local bookshop. Needless to say, we didn't. Although the hotel is very central, it is still quite expensive.

The location was within touching distance of one of the most picturesque parts of the town - the area around the Sheldonian Theatre and Broad Street - and only a short walk away from the university parks. The continental breakfast included everything we wanted, from pain au chocolate/croissants to more healthy types of bread. We loved our rooms, decorated in a style which fitted beautifully with the 17th century building - so refreshing compared to the often homogenous and corporate style of many hotels. Our two rooms had an adjoining door and between the two rooms we had everything we needed, including a choice of on-suite shower or bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable! Finally, considering that we were very near the adjoining public house, it was nice and quiet at night.

I can't think of anything that could have been better, other than allowing us to take our beds home with us!

A gem of a location, full of character, recommended for an authentic Oxford experience. Loved the buildings, Inn next door, a few steps to historic Oxford, great Continental breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff.

I don't think the rooms could have been larger, due to the age of the building. Access up stairs with large luggage needed strength. More power points and updated furnishings would have been appreciated.

I made a mistake when booking and indicated two guests instead of three. The hotel manager kindly upgraded my room for free, even though this is peak travel season. Very grateful for their kindness!

Well, the building is several hundred years old, which is part of the charm. Outlets aren’t plentiful. Noise from the pub next door might be an issue for some. I just closed the window and ran the fan.

Excellent location right in the heart of Oxford! Nice cosy breakfast place with a fresh continental basket. They also kindly extended our check out as we couldn't make it at 11:00 due to early morning excursion.

The bathroom of connection family room was out of the room in a small corridor and had to be oprned with a key every time you needed it.So,my kids had to unlock room door and then toilet door at night.

The location is exceptional. Next to the oldest pub (but no noise problem) and mere metres to the heart of the university section of Oxford. I easily walked to see the sights and it was great to be able to pop back to my room to recharge my phone and myself with a cuppa.

The price was a little more than I wanted to pay but the location made it a worthwhile treat.

Adored this place! This was my second time staying here, but this time, I decided to stay a week instead of two days, and it was even better than my first stay. The great location, cute historic building, and absolutely lovely, kind, and attentive staff all contributed to a wonderful experience. It was also very cosy, which was great since I came in January. I also loved the pub right next door, Turf Tavern, which was a great place to grab dinner or a drink at the end of the day. All in all a great place. I will definitely be back!

We really liked this small, friendly hotel! Right in the centre of town, with a well-known pub right next door. And you could explore the city centre on foot. There was also a locked car park for the car - everything was perfect!

The stairs to the room were very narrow - but that was also part of the charm of this nice hotel. Under no circumstances should the stairs be changed!

Loved it’s age and quaintness. The staff were wonderful. Lovely place and what a great location! We loved our private garden entrance.

The continental breakfast was very bread heavy and the extras were expensive. Maybe less bread and a piece of fruit or an egg would be nice.
