The receptionist was helpful both on checking in and on leaving. Breakfast was pleasant in a nice setting. The location is an easy walk from the station and the directions were good.

The fact that breakfast wasn't available earlier - say 7.30 am - and that a member of staff appeared put out that I wasn't part of a large party from America and indicated I was sitting in the wrong place (where there was no, 'Reserved' sign). Attention to detail at breakfast was slightly off, too - I had asked on booking that the kitchen knew I was coeliac, but they didn't, and, for some odd reason, there were no tea spoons for hot drinks and yoghurt. Gluten free cereal and toast was supplied nonetheless. None of this would put me off returning!

Rewley House offers accommodation in neighbouring buildings as part of a continuing education institution. It's located just a few minutes walk from the busy city centre – about a 5 minute walk from the Ashmolean. It was a treat to be staying within an educational vibe while visiting the city of Oxford. Our accommodation was simple, pleasant, quiet and spacious, overlooking a garden square in an attractive older property – the floors sloped in places. Friendly reception staff. It was possible to request a delayed check out time. After checking out, the staff phoned me to say we'd left something behind in the room.

The well-designed reading light was only on one side of our double bed.

Located in the City Centre, a short walk from all main attractions and colleges. The hotel has multiple houses around the square and several rooms with university offices above and around. It's private and comfortable. The beds are big and the mattresses are very comfortable. Cleanliness is not an issue and the bathrooms were equipped with the essentials.

It could be more equipped, but then again you pay for what you get. For accessibility, you would require help if you would need to access even the ground floor.

Great location just North of the City centre in the vibrant Jericho district. I stayed at no. 12 which is one of the neighbouring properties to the main building. Room a reasonable size for one, wardrobe with plenty of space, towels and a decent mirror. You can easily get to all amenities and the railway station is a short walk or cab ride away.

Bit noisy on ground floor but luckily not by the front door. Bathroom a bit compact and bed a bit firm, but these are personal to me.

Rewley House is the University's Dept of Continuing Education and consists of a number of century-old terraced stone houses adapted for that purpose. The accommodation is primarily for mature students attending courses there and so it feels much like staying in one of the Colleges. The street is very quiet. My room was in a separate house a very short walk from the main block. Smaller than most hotel rooms, it was perfectly adequate with a desk, comfortable chairs and double bed, with an en-suite newly renovated bath/shower room. Stairs were narrow, typical of its age, but it had a modern lift. Breakfast was excellent, a full range of cold and perfectly cooked hot dishes, booked and paid for separately (£10). I had the morning to spare before an appointment and although checkout from the room was at 10.00 I could use the Common Room in the main block for the whole morning and enjoyed a cooked lunch with a drink from the bar. Lots of power points near all the tables for working. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Nothing. It is hardly a complaint but my room was too warm on arrival, forcing me to turn down the radiators and open the window for a while!!

Breakfast was fantastic & reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful & polite. Room was very clean & comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Exceptionally quiet location for city centre & no noise from other rooms (may be because it was Easter holidays.) Excellent value for money. Storage for bags before & after checkout was extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

Sloping ceilings very charming but a hazard for tall person! I did hit my head a few times! Needs something to catch your eye to prevent perhaps..?

There is a lot of amenity at this property. A lovely hidden shared outdoor area and kitchen facilities. The room I had was much bigger than expected. The location is excellent and it is really convenient for the centre of town. I like the way that breakfast is optional because that saves you money if you have made alternative arrangements. It is exceptional value for money.

Obviously it is part of the University and not just a hotel so a few things are a bit old fashioned. They hand you 3 colour coded keys for example. It's not a huge issue at all and at least it means you can get in and out when it suits you. The checkout time is quite early (10am), but that is matched by an early check in time (2pm) so that could just as easily be a plus.

The room was clean and comfortable. Because it's a college there were some facilities you wouldn't get in a hotel - access to a kitchenette with fridge and microwave was particularly useful. The location was great- 10 minutes walk to the Ashmolean, but off the main streets so it was quiet. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Nothing! My room didn't have step-free access, not a problem for me but definitely something you should mention if you need it.

Very friendly reception & service, spacious & comfortable room with good heating, nice quiet academic atmosphere, great English breakfast with organic products, very good location for historic centre (easy walking distance). Would stay here again!

Some contact noise from other rooms/stairs (old building); building can be a bit of a maze (but I always found my way). Bar was closed earlier than advertised (but enough alternatives in the area). Oh yes, and the shower only got lukewarm...

Location of our stay was spot on and the reception staff very helpful. The accessibility to our rooms was so easy and they were very clean. Perfect place to stay while in Oxford.

Sadly just one area was a bit disappointing. We were sold on the all day breakfast being a buffet style and with that thought in mind, we happily paid the rather expensive fee of £10.00 each (compared to Witherspoon's cheaper option). The waiter firstly refused to welcome us and the conversation was nill. He was slow and not very helpful. The full English breakfast WAS NOT BUFFET STYLE, But we must say that what we received was excellent in quality and taste wonderful. So we feel a little Robbed and let down by this guys poor service.
