The en-suite room was perfectly adequate for our needs containing all the usual extras you would expect from a quality B&B. A cooked breakfast was not available but the continental option was absolutely fine with a good range of cold meats, cheese and fresh fruit. There was an unlimited supply of toast and good quality coffee. The property is on a major bus route into the city and very close to the bus stop.
Breakfast was charged extra - not particularly expensive but entailed having to pay cash as cards are not accepted. The WiFi signal was not great and regularly dropped out during our stay. The door catch on the bathroom door also needs some attention. An observation rather than a complaint: If the property is called Green Gables why are they not painted green ? It might make locating the property a good deal easier.

Green Gables appears to be a little away from the centre. Bus service makes up for this and we were able to get to where ever we wanted to go. Our room was marvelous. Walking out of the room we turned left and were in the dining room or we turned right and were at the door to go outside. Breakfast was available and we ate at the hotel every morning. Facilities are well kept by the attentive staff. For those travelling by car there is a small car park in front. Green Gables Guest House is well-recommended by all three of us in our party.
I cannot think of anything that I did not like. While some things may, perhaps, have been done differently this would have been done at the expense of the Green Gables present attractions.

Our hosts were very hospitable and made us feel at home. The guest house is conveniently located to various amenities, shops and restaurants and approximately 30 minutes walk into the city centre. The continentinal breakfast is a self buffet. Tea & coffee are served with love and a human touch and breakfast is good value for money considering the elements provided.
The bed mattress is not the most comfortable for a long stay. We stayed for two nights. The bathroom could do with a refit as not well ventilated and the floor is wet and shower curtain is damp most of the time but can be forgiven as the building is quite old.

The place while a bit dated was very clean, the owners were welcoming and lovely they let us leave my wheelchair in the conservatory so we didn’t have to take it upstairs to it go. The tea and coffee in the room was of good quality and was plentiful. We would definitely stay there again and would tell others too to.
The curtains and bed linen could be more nautral other than that they have a lovely home and we would highly recommend it to others

There was a hiccough with the heating and as soon as I'd mentioned it the host provided a portable heater whilst the issue was addressed. They also gave me a good welcome which is so appreciated when one arrives tired after a journey and in an unfamiliar place. They were helpful when I needed local information so I do recommend staying here - the location was handy being on a main route, plus the price was reasonable for Oxford.
The exterior appearance of the building was a little bit tired-looking, not quite like the photos on tge Web site and the room had an unaired smell about it, possibly from the mattress as leaving the window open for a few mins didn't seem to improve it. It was tolerable - if I'd been staying longer I'd have spoken to the hosts. They were friendly and kind/helpful in all respects so I didn't want to raise it.

The room was spacious and well-furnished. It was very clean, as was the rest of the house, and the bed was very comfortable. The en-suite was well-equipped and soaps, ample towels, etc were supplied. There was good storage and a TV with an enormous variety of channels. Location was excellent for getting to and from Oxford itself, and the proprietors were accessible and very helpful. All in all, an excellent location for a stay.
The only difficulty we had was with the heating, by thermostatic electric radiator. We found the controls hard to interpret and no written instructions were supplied. We did get it working sporadically, but it seemed to have a mind of its own!

Lovely historical building. Friendly owners. Bed was comfy. They happily let us in a bit earlier than official check-in time. On a busy road, but it has double glazing, and we were at the back, so not bothered by traffic noise.
The property was a little tired (as expected for a not-too-expensive guest house). I felt that some of the plumbing and tiling in the bathroom had been done by an enthusiastic amateur rather than a professional, and potential leaks might cost the owners more than they had saved.

It's a family business and the hosts are fantastic, very friendly and helpful and the room was good value for money. All basic facilities were provided. There was ample parking, and wifi was included. It is by a busy road but the double glazing is great at keeping the noise from that right down and it was a nice, quiet stay.
The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the bathroom was very small. Whilst everything worked fine and the room was very clean, the decor and furnishings were a little tired.

The guest house is a family concern and it feels homely. The hosts greet you in person and show you to your room. The rooms I had were spacious and comfortable. There are bus stops just outside, to and from Oxford city centre. Also there is a small supermarket opposite.
Because of my late booking I had to have different rooms for each of the two nights I stayed. The host arranged for my luggage to be transferred between rooms. For the second night I had a ground floor room with a bath and overhead shower, which was less easy for me than a walk-in shower.
