The room was 10 star. Outstanding. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's hard to say as I liked the room and staff and management so much. Our room the Queens Bouduare was lovely but close to a Karaoke room. The noise was loud till 1am on Sat night. Ear plugs were provided in the room. I also dud not like ringing a door bell to regain entry when the venue was open-not so welcoming. On Sat night a bouncer questioned us even after explaining we were staying there after we came back from dinner.

My stay was great! The room was lovely and really convenient. It’s a really short and beautiful walk into town. It really was prefect for what I needed. I was a bit worried about the noise after reading some of the other reviews but I barely heard anything and the little bit that I did hear was easily blocked out by playing some white noise on my phone. I would absolutely recommend!

I visited in the middle of summer and we did have some hot days. The room did get a bit warm which I found a bit hard. A fan would have been perfect. Having said that, I never actually asked if one was available so this may have been on me. The only other thing is there were a lot of stairs. This didn’t bother me but might affect other people.

This place is so quirky . We loved everything about it . Rooms spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you need . The bed was really comfortable, the shower was amazing. Location is ideal for the centre. The bar was an added bonus, again very quirky. We even had a couple of individual bottles of Prosecco left in our room as a thank you . This was a lovely touch as well . Wouldn’t hesitate to come back, although we would want to have a different room …just cos we can !!! Well done The Mad Hatter !!!

The room I stayed in was comfortable and nicely decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme with quirky touches such as the cushions and tea cups. The bathroom was a good size, which was a welcome change from the small bathrooms that often come with an en-suite room. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the rainfall shower. It was useful having a fridge to store snacks and a few breakfast items. I stayed for two nights (Sunday and Monday) so the guestrooms were quite quiet. The online check-in was straightforward and I had no problems with the access codes. Although it's a short walk to the city centre, the Hatter is on a bus route and there are regular buses to the city centre and the rail station.

The room was quite warm as the weather was fairly humid during my stay, but luckily a fan had been provided.

Rooms are amazing Beds really comfortable Free bottle of wine in each room Rooms amazingly clean

Outside looks like a complete dive I was fearing what the hell had we booked Staff are grumpy, not very welcoming, We were given a free drink in the bar but couldn’t use it as bar was fully booked! Stair wells and rooms where not the warmest heating could of done with being on, radiator said 16 degrees On leaving in the morning the smell and state of when you come down stairs is a real let down of your lasting memory of the place Also you see no staff and next to no one on your stay it’s feels very unpersonal

Location was very central to Oxford University and the city centre more generally. The staff were very helpful on arrival and during my stay. The team onsite arranged for me to drop off my suitcase prior to formal check in, and even took it to my room, some 4 floors up, remembering there's no lift! The team were also super responsive to messages via the Booking.com app. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

No complaints from me. If you're being picking, the absence of a lift when you have heavy suitcases is a 'downside', but this isn't uncommon in the UK, and definitely not unique to this accommodation.

We loved everything about the Mad Hatter! Ideal for those looking for a different type of experience. Of course is weird, but really cool. Our room was very cutely decorated, very clean and the bathroom was beautiful and modern. Location is great right by Cowley road and St Clemens but a nice quiet area by the sports centre. We were there on a Wednesday so can’t say if the bar gets noisy on weekends. Our stay was great and we had great sleep. Nice touch to leave eye masks and ear plugs by the pillows.

Nothing, we loved it!

The room was Alice based, so quirky, very pretty. Extremely comfy bed, and even though there was karoke going on, didn't really hear it. The hallways leading to the room is decorated with Alice in wonderland so I loved this. Loved everything about this place and would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to dislike that would stop us coming again, there was a slight smell of drains in the bathroom on the first night, but that disappeared by the morning. Lots of stairs up to the room so bare that in mind, but it didn't bother us. No parking but we pre booked parking in a hotel further up the road. Wish the bar had been open as a mad fan of Alice in wonderland it would have been good to see, but it just means we will have to come back 😁

A really unusual and lovely place to stay. Quirky setting, comfortable bed, we were asked a riddle on entry which was fun, we loved the complimentary bottle of prosecco in our room, we enjoyed some great cocktails in the bar. Had a quick response via WhatsApp to a couple of queries prior to our stay. Would book again!

Had a bit of difficulty finding parking (but this is a general problem in Oxford) and had a lot of helpful suggestions from Jess at the Mad Hatter. Found somewhere eventually! The music in the downstairs bar was quite noisy until 2am but this is made very clear when booking and didn't bother us.

It was a quirky, yet surprisingly luxurious guestroom. The room was beautiful and more than adequate for our mini break away. The keyless entry meant that we could come and go as we pleased, with no chance of forgetting our key, and without having to bother the staff. The room was adorable and more than met our needs. The bed was excellent and very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and we felt very cozy, yet like we were in a much more expensive establishment.

The stairs, but that is more due to my own lacking than the guestrooms.
