It is not any simple hotel!! It is a museum!! I was traveling to Oxford to see the old university, heritage and architecture, and I couldn't imagine I would spend the night at a museum! This hotel deserves to be a "boutique hotel". It is a private exquisite hotel, located in a an old small Bldg from the 16th century, it has only few rooms on site. Though it does not offer a lot of facilities, the private lounge with the old chimenea and windows overlooking “oxford museum” has got all it takes to make you travel in time to some old ages. All of this, and having the whole place for me to spend it with my guests made us really feel exclusive. Briefly, as an art lover, I have had a charming stay here, and I have enjoyed it to the last detail with the all the fantasies that the Versace style furniture have brought to me.

Khadija responded to my questions re: transportation and access from local train station. She also helped us carry our suitcases to the room, which was two floors up from the ground level. We didn't realize that but the circular staircase to the second floor was quite charming. Also, the bathroom was ultra-modern and clean. One of the best we experienced in England. The view from the 2nd floor room (room 10?) overlooked rooftops and was quiet. All windows were double paned which made them quiet to street noise. The room we had was tiny but furnished with a desk, chair, a comfortable bed, side tables and lamps, and fine for a one-night stay.

It should be made clear to the viewer that some of the rooms require one to two floors of stairs (no elevators). I appreciated Khadija's help getting to the room on the 2nd floor. (We carried our suitcases down when we left.) Also, we didn't get the full range of breakfast items because there was a police action on the street and no one from the staff could enter. Of course, that's not the fault of the staff. However, there was availability of yogurt, coffee, fresh fruit, and some pastries; we had some of these for our breakfast.

The stay was very pleasant. It was my first time in England, and all was fantastic. We were there for my son's graduation from Oxford Brookes University. There were a few minor issues with the room, but they were addressed and taken care of immediately. We were even offered a larger room since we were there for a full week and large luggage. The staff/owner were very accommodating and responsive. I would recommend anyone looking to stay in the city center of Oxford to consider this place for sure.

Lovely large room. The bathroom was nice with a great rainfall shower. The building was quiet and even blocked out the sound of the church bells on Sunday morning! Nice selection of biscuits, tea, and coffee in the room, with more in the cafe room if required. Overall very pleased with the stay.

The breakfast was limited (some toast, cereals, and muffins) which was a little disappointing given the cost of the room, but we ate away from the hotel, so we weren't too bothered about that. Access to the hotel is via electronic door codes but they only give you the code when the previous guest has checked out - this made me a little nervous but the system did work out in the end. The code is delivered via email so make sure you have them on your phone if you stay here! Lacking a reception and being keyless meant we actually never saw anyone else during our stay. This was fine for us but it might feel a little strange for some.

My stay here exceeded my expectation. From the day before my booking and throughout my visit, I was in constant communication with the hotel, which was a pleasant surprise given that it is keyless and not staffed most of the time. One minor issue was resolved immediately, and the manager apologised and made amends. Breakfast was also included with various options and catering towards vegans. The room is large, and even though it is a period building with most of the original features, the soundproofing is excellent, and I couldn't hear the noise from the pub or taxi office below/outside the room. I will stay here again and recommend it highly.

The best way to describe the Museum Hotel is not as a 'Hotel' but a top notch AirBnB type accommodation. You never see anyone, there is no reception, no dinning area or any of the other things you would readily associate with a Hotel. BUT - do not let this put you off. The accommodation was excellent, really well appointed, comfortable, very clean and the lounge area with tea and coffee making facilities overlooking the Museum across the road was a nice area to take a break. You are right in the heart of the city without being kept up all night by revelers. We will be booking it again. - For parking - if there are two of you, pull up opposite, off load the luggage and one of you take the luggage in doors. Then go down the road and head for the Westgate Shopping centre car park, if this is full use the Ice rink parking 10yds further up on the opposite side. You are a 10 min easy walk through the Westgate Centre to the Hotel.

The entrance is shared with Ladbroke's betting office on the High Street and Parking for more than one night is very expensive as well as being a real FAFF. There was no aerial reception so the TV was next to useless (wanted to catch up on the Wimbledon finals and Golf).

Wasn't too sure what the deal was with the breakfast as there was a small room with items in there, but wasn't sure if we was allowed to take items to room or stay in there, as our room was above up the stairs.... plus open item need to be covered, as it wasn't didn't know how long it was sat there 4.... so room change for free, was the bonus after such a long drive from chester.... Defo coming back again

Hotel room was very much like the photos. Very comfortable and clean. Location was good and the free breakfast was great.

We were woken at 3:30 with some noisy people from a nearby nightclub which went on until almost 5am. This is a known issue as the hotel provides ear plugs, however they forgot to put them in our room that night. Narrow and uneven stairs would be an issues for anyone with mobility issues.

A decent, clean and very well located hotel. I can see how some rooms may have a noise problem but we didn't hear any noise at all over 3 nights. We chose this hotel because of the age of the building, although we didn't get that feeling of the building's history, apart from in the Artists lounge.

Quite pricey compared to other hotels. We could have stayed in the Premier Inn, which is equally well located, with breakfast for 2 people included for a total of £12 less over 3 nights.

Khadija was Very attentive and caring. She was always available for help and continually checked on my welfare. She was an excellent representative of the hotel. I cannot say enough about the service and respect she gave.

The air conditioner was a bit noisy and the skylight blind and window did not always operate easily. Maybe the remote needed new batteries.
