Historical and quirky, and the modern rooms and decor are carefully designed to enhance the experience. Honesty Bar and Lounge area is great with spectacular views on a clear day Staff are extremely personable, breakfast is first rate

The property has challenges for people with luggage/suitcases, there (understandably) wasn’t an elevator The lighting on the stairs up to entrance was not working after we returned from a meal out in the dark, and created some jeopardy for my elderly parents - a few sensors/batteries and this should be an easy fix however. There is no /restaurant and the choice is limited (even with car and taxi) due to rugged, rural location

Its really special to get the opportunity to stay at a renovated castle. The energy felt great and its been designed very tastefully. The staff was nice incredibly welcoming, especially since we spent the Christmas Holiday there, away from our families. We were spoiled left an right with a welcome drink, a beautiful room and we even had a santa stocking on our door filled with treats. The Christmas trees at the property might have been the nicest smelling trees! We left with our hearts glowing from the experience and are very grateful.

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary at Roch and staff gave us such a warm welcome! Silk flower petals on the bed, a rose shaped heart, sweets, wine and a hanwritten card. The castle itself is beautifully decorated with amazing tapestries, paintings and sculptures. You feel you are in your own castle since they keep little staff around and you can use every space like you are at home. With only 6 rooms no way it might get crowded. Bed super comfy. Bathroom as well. Breakfast delicious. The honesty bar has lots to offer and surprisingly accettable prices considering the level of the place. Wide beatiful grounds with manicured lawn (no place to sit there however...)

We had the Nest room. Sooooo romatic but tiny. And in a fortress the windows are of course very small. Since the weather was very hot, it was a bit airless. There was a fan but noisy, couldn't be kept going for long: that can be improved. Suggestions for the management: 1) some deck chairs should be available to allow guests to enjoy the garden. 2) The is no standard reception desk and this is perfecly in line with the "feel at home" approach, but on the door of the office where staff is available during the day, put "office" or "reception", not "housekeeping". One would not think of looking there if looking for staff.

Roch castle was an amazing place to stay. From the moment you drive through the gates, being greeted by the staff and shown around the castle, to settling in the communal space, it was incredible. At breakfast there was plenty of food on the buffet plus a cooked breakfast offered; vegetarian and vegans were catered for. As we stayed over the Easter weekend, there were many lovely touches, mini eggs and Lindt bunnies given to guests and an Easter egg hunt, Staff were always attentive and friendly. We loved the communal spaces and honesty bar. The bed was very comfortable. The whole feel of the place was spot on and an amazing place to stay. We are definitely coming back.

Nothing-the stay was incredible! A couple of suggestions: provide a recycle bin in the communal spaces, a notice to ask guests to switch off lights if last in the room, something to wipe up any spills on the counter by the kettle.

This is an amazing place to stay. Made to feel very welcome and at home from the moment we entered the castle. The furnishings, art works and rooms are all of very high quality. Adele, the manager was very knowledgeable and friendly. Stunning views from the sun room and lots of communal areas to sit and read. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice of fresh fruit, pastry and beautiful cooked food. Only 6 rooms available so you feel very privileged to stay here.

We couldn't stay longer due to our schedule.

Excellent location for walking part of the Pembrokeshire coast. We walked from Newgale to Solva and back. Easy access to St. David’s by car or as part of a coastal walk. Great local pub within 10 minutes walk of the hotel. Excellent restaurants suggested by the hotel. We had a delicious meal at the Cambrian Bar in Solva.

The mattress was too soft for our liking. We prefer a hard mattress.

Roch Castle is an exceptional property that has been carefully, respectfully, and tastefully renovated into an exceptional hotel. I felt as though I was staying in a piece of history, but with all the modern comforts one could imagine. Not only that, the hotel felt tremendously homely, with staff - who were all exceptional, friendly, and polite - going above and beyond to make sure that I not only felt welcome, but entirely at home.

Nothing. This hotel is incredible and entirely deserving of its 5 star luxury reputation.

Unique beautifully and tastefully restored Castle. Honesty bar with drinks , ice , beautiful glasses and great wine selection. Amazing and unique interior ! Every possible need catered for and staff cannot do enough for you but without being in your face!

It was all fantastic! Fire in the lounge would have been a bonus but honestly the stay was perfect !

The staff that was there when we arrived couldn't do enough for you and the restaurant WOW OH WOW outstanding quality and the views was breathtaking

The staff the next day I just came out of hospital with my back and it went again so I was struggling walking so my partner asked for some assistance and she just got ignored which is totally unacceptable in my opinion as you work in the hotel industry and that's your job to help guests

Wow, what a really unique place to stay. The building is impressive, sat in beautiful countryside with some wonderful views across the Pembrokeshire coast. The staff were very friendly and the room was really well presented, with a huge en suite bathroom. Finally, probably the best cooked breakfast I've had in years!

Although not a problem for us, the climb to the top bedroom was narrow and there is no lift.
