The staff were wellcoming and advised us of late night music, for both nights.

There was no hairdryer in the room, and knowing that we were there for 2 nights only three tea bags were placed in room and nore milk could of been left. There was water in the kettle and I didn't know how long that had been in there for. The iron was spitting dark and white bits over our clothes for our wedding. There was no breakfast for either days as they told our friends they were breaking a new chef in. Considering that, on those nights maybe the charge for rooms could be a bit cheaper maybe there was quite a bit of hair on the carpet too.

The period features, the central location and the modern and clean bar area. They provided a tower fan which was already on when we arrived which was a lovely touch as it was warm. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy.

Due to the central location and it being a Saturday night stay there was a lot of noise during the night from party goers. This in itself wasn’t an issue really as we can ignore that but the boy racer cars that we’re flying through the streets until early hours echoed through the streets and into our room sadly. This is not the hotel’s fault in any way but definitely something to think about if you plan on having a restful Saturday night break away. The only other slight downside for someone might be that there was a lot of steep stairs to our room and no lift so if you have mobility issues it might not be the best place for you.

The room was spacious, clean and light, and the bed was one of the most comfy I have slept on. The location of the hotel was excellent. The Manager and staff were helpful and bent over backwards to help with any requests. Overall it was good value for money and I would definitely return and recommend to others!

There was a restaurant but was not given any info on serving times etc. I’m not sure if it was open as never smelt any food cooking. It didn’t really cause any problems though as there was plenty of eating places nearby and a Wetherspoons down the road for a good value breakfast.

Lovely food, great atmosphere and fantastic hosts. I would highly recommend staying here . Entertainment at the weekend a big party atmosphere!. Also very central to all the attractions, Beaches, Castles, farm/ zoo. And theme park. We felt very welcome from the word go. They went the extra mile to make your stay as happy and relaxed. Lucy and Darren thank you once again for your hospitality. Came as strangers left as friends.

Saturday night was incredibly noisy. We were aware that there was music in the hotel - that was ok. It was all the other venues and cars with loud music, shouting and loud chatter in the square til gone 4am. Very little sleep as the street cleaning began early.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms.

The restaurant wasn't open during my stay (which is fine) it would be nice for days it is available to be described somewhere. Staff were very helpful and pointed me in the right direction to find dinner!

Historic old building, great location in the centre of town. Spacious and clean rooms

No parking on site- but available cheap nearby at Castle lake

Great place to stay, I had the best sleep ever. Peaceful and comfortable. All staff very warm and welcoming. Really great value especially for a town centre location. Recent refurb has been tastefully done - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Property was comfortable and clean, right in the town centre.

Fan and hairdryer were older but still worked fine so extremely minor complaints
