Beggars Reach Hotel

We stayed at the Beggars reach for an impromptu getaway one Friday evening for the weekend, I hadn’t looked into where we were going, it was cheap and the location was perfect so we crossed our fingers! This place did not disappoint!! The rural location set in pristine grounds with cows on the field next door and complete silence at night was idyllic. I love the old country house style like going back to grandmas house, but normally in old historic properties it is a little run down, but beggars reach had the old school feel with being one of the most cleanliest places I’ve been too, would beat a 5* London hotel hands down for cleanliness! Sue the head of housekeeping also serves morning breakfast and was just lovely!! As were all the team whilst we were there. It’s hard to come by places anymore where you actually feel looked after, here we definitely were. We are going back with the kids next year as it’s within 15 mins of Tenby to dip into the craziness and come back to tranquility! Thank you again for making our visit to wales a nice one.

When we arrived we were greeted by Will the owner who welcomed us to this beautiful property. Our room was ready for us so we took our case up, it was beautiful and faced the garden with far reaching views and so quiet, we then got a drink from the Bar and sat outside looking at the fabulous scenery so peaceful and relaxing. Will checked to see if we needed anything else and I asked about the history of the property which was very interesting. We booked for dinner which was delicious. The breakfast was also plentiful and the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Overall very pleasant stay in a very pretty location just 5 minutes from Cleddau Bridge ,Pembroke dock. The staff were exceptionally nice and welcoming, Peroni on draft was an immediate thumbs up and brand new benches around the beautiful grounds made us cancel our plans to eat out of the hotel and opted to make the most of our stay. Breakfast was faultless along with the again superb hospitality ,so highly recommended any one staying at Beggar's Reach where Henry V11 was born! Room 5 has the best views,absolutely.

The Indian curry's were disappointing sorry to say ,both Tikka Masala and beef madras , nice home made pompadoms and folded nan breads were presented on the plate soaked in curry sauce ,really need to be on a hot separate plate and beefless curry. I'm sure you can turn that around. Our refurbished room was lovely and only gripe was the shower was too tight to turn on /off with wet hands with little water pressure.

Everything about the Beggars Reach Hotel was outstanding, the staff were so friendly and accommodating, The room had beautiful views of the delightful gardens and over green fields from both windows, the cleanliness of everything in our room and indeed the entire hotel was exceptional. We didn't have an evening meal as we had already arranged to eat in Haverfordwest but the cooked breakfast we had, was well cooked and there was plenty of other options on offer too.

We very much enjoyed out stay at Beggars Reach and there wasn't anything that could have made it any better.

Great from start to finish. breakfast was good and could change if requested. as we did not have a garden view as advert, we were put in a room with added area with settees and a additional tv and coffee table, this was much appreciated. Grounds lovely to walk around. staff very helpful. lovely setting and peaceful.

Just small things really. small milk jugs for breakfast when having a pot of tea would have been nice. outdoor area to have patio umbrellas. would like to see the grounds developed a bit more in time.

Loved the location & grounds, relaxed atmosphere...a brilliant find! I Will return without fail! Billy Jo & restaurant staff were great, we were well fed & watered! I thoroughly recommend the Beggars Reach for a relaxing break away in beautiful surroundings.

There was nothing we disliked, maybye having an information card for restaurant, bar, breakfast times / hours. Local taxi numbers etc would be handy in the room. (Saves bugging the staff) 🫣😁 but certainly no complaints on any level!

The rooms are simple and lovely. The food is functionally fine for a work trip. I love the remote location, but that could be a drawback for those who want to explore a little in the evening.

The menu is a smidge limited, but fine for those who are less adventurous. Such a menu is unlikely to attract people to visit for a nice dinner or special occasion. The hotel and beautiful setting lends itself nicely towards hosting large parties and weddings, which is clearly their target market. This is something that is very apparent to a business traveller like me, who felt as if I was catered for as a bit of an after-thought.

Lovely surroundings and accommodation. The staff were all excellent from the owner (apologies forgot your name) through to the breakfast and bar staff. Was only expecting a continental breakfast, so having additional options was a bonus too. All staff were very knowledgeable on the area and activities and were very engaging. What impressed me most, was that although this was an older property, there was clearly a sense of importance on presentation and cleanliness, which can often be a problem. Will definitely visit again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend.

Beautiful location in the countryside. Friendly staff, comfortable roomy accommodation with a full sized bath and over shower in the en-suite. Beautiful gardens and plenty of outside seating. Good breakfast.

No fan provided or available upon request. The weather was particularly warm, however, we were able to use the tilt and turn window to have it wide open throughout the night. We had enough privacy to do so, being on the first floor, and it was sufficient. Perhaps if it had been another room, this may not have been possible. I would recommend a fan in the room.

Room too hot on first night, was unable to cool it down easily. At dinner my starter was wrong. Single track road to hotel would make things difficult when visiting family in winter and high summer. Understood from booking we could have a ground floor room for my disabled sister but this didn't happen on arrival. Not big issue as she could manage stairs and next time will request one.
