The Dolphin Hotel0

We thought the Dolphin Hotel was great value for money for our one-night stay. The rooms are nicely decorated, beds very comfortable and there was a great shower in the en suite. A breakfast of cereal and toast is included in your stay and you can pay extra if you would like to have a cooked breakfast. Check-in was very easy and the staff were very friendly when we saw them at breakfast.

Our room faced on to the street and so was a little noisy. It would be useful to have a towel rail in the bathroom and perhaps a small bin in there too, but there were no major problems or dislikes.

This was an old characterful property with high ceilings and ornate mouldings. It was clean and comfortable. We could control the radiators which blasted out heat when we wanted them to. The hotel was shut on the evening we were there which meant that it was very quiet in the evening. We got a takeaway pizza from the place about 2 doors down which was delicious. The cereal and toast breakfast which was included in the price suited us perfectly. Value for money was amazing.

Due to the nature of fitting an en-suite bathroom into this type of property, the washbasin was tiny! This meant we ended up slopping water over the floor.

The hotel rooms had very comfortable beds. Free parking was available at the back of the hotel. There was a restaurant on the gorund floor serving very nice drinks and food. We've had breakfast there as well. Toasts + jam and butter plus tea and coffee were included in the price but it was possible to order english breakfast (different sizes available). Food was good. Restaurant was busy so I would advise booking a table for dinner if you are planning to eat in.

Walls were quite thin and sounds from the restaurant - music - quite loud but only until 9-10 pm.

The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. After dinner, I struck up a conversation with the family that owns the hotel. Right away they made me feel like I was at home just by how they spoke to me. At one point I even explained some troubles that I ran into in regard to transportation. The owners of the hotel personally offered to help me by taking me where I needed to be (of course this special situation will not happen for everyone who visits, but rather a kind gesture they offered because they knew I needed to help). I also loved the convenience of being able to get good food/drink from the restaurant that is attached and run by the hotel. One more thing that was really amazing about this hotel is that it was so affordable! Though I had a short visit, this stay at the Dolphin Hotel has made an impact on me that makes me want to come back for more. So if you want to feel welcomed and valued during your stay in Pembroke Dock all for an affordable cost, make sure to visit the great people at the Dolphin Hotel!

The wifi connection had trouble when I was in my room at times.

The hotel was easy to find and in a really convenient location for using the ferry port. The staff were lovely, rooms were spacious and clean, and the WiFi worked really well. There was tea, coffee and a kettle in the room, the shower had hot water and there was a small continental breakfast available in the morning which was included in the price. It was perfect for a one night stay before catching the ferry!

Since it was December, the room was pretty cold at night. Some extra blankets or a heater would have been amazing, but it wasn't a massive problem.

We arrived much earlier then anticipated. We had to ring the bell as the front entrance is locked when the restaurant is closed. We were welcomed in and the owners father who just happened to be there pampered us with tea and biscuits. Fortunately our room was ready and we were allowed early check in. The restaurant food is fabulous. Some of the best meals we had in Wales. There is also a wonderful patio out back where you can eat or have a drink. The family run business and the locals that come for dinner gives you a feeling of being part of the community. I would definitely recommend The Dolphin. It is excellent value for the price. We are hikers and had no problem walking to the next community to visit Pembroke castle. There is a paved walking/bike trail and sidewalks for the complete walk.

The harbour community is a bit run down. There are renovations taking place to adjacent buildings which will improve the neighborhood.

The breakfast offer was fine of toast/cereals/porridge with juice or tea/coffee and the option to buy a cooked breakfast 😃

The sash window kept sliding shut and I had to move one item of furniture to be able to plug the kettle in. Perhaps a note on the breakfast table to remind guests that they needed to go the bar counter to place their breakfast order would be helpful as well 👍🏻 These are suggested only to help make an excellent experience into an exceptional one 🤩

Pembroke Dock is not directly 'the place to be', but The Dolphin is an excellent base to visit the Pembroke area, with the beaches and the town of Tenby nearby. Rooms are value for money, staff is very friendly and helpfull and breakfast (cooked breakfast must be paid seperately) is good.

It is all a bit tiny for a family. Room not big. Small bathroom with small shower. And in hot summers, the room gets really warm. Hotel provided us with fan, which was good. We brought our own fan as well. Needed that on the hot nights.

Very comfy room, nicely decorated and a clean and fresh shower/toilet room. Fold out bed was comfy for a 7 year old. Simple breakfast included but was all we needed, and quickly served by chatty friendly staff. They do a range of cooked breakfasts for reasonable prices too. Well located for our visit, visited Pembroke Castle, Bosherston lily ponds, Dale and Tenby which are max about half hour drive away. Had no issues parking in the lane at the back of the hotel.

Curtains didn't block out light in the morning, and there was a bit of noise from the road, if you are a light sleeper this might matter to you but there are rooms which don't look onto the road too.

I had booked a single room but was allocated a room with a large bed 🛌. Not sure if I was upgraded or their single rooms are generous. I had a great stay, the bed was comfortable. Generally a great room, exceeded my expectations. I liked the roof window, brings in fresh air Very friendly and helpful staff

If I'm being picky, the lovely room has a glass window on the roof which is great but it had algae growing on the outside probably due to the non stop rains 🌧. Spoils what is otherwise a great idea. Which is a shame because the inside of the room was spotless
