It couldnât have been more conveniently located for taking the ferry to the Isles of Scilly. I was made very welcome and was helped - without my asking - lugging my heavy suitcase to and from the room. The room was spacious, beautifully simply decorated, and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed, too. It was on the first floor and had a wonderful view of the sea and the quay. I wish I had been hungrier at breakfast time as the breakfast menu was excellent! I had a bowl of granola with berries and yoghurt, but will try to remember not to eat too much for dinner when I stay there again on my way back!
Nothing.

Great location. Welcome was wonderful, room large, warm, clean and comfortable with a great view across the harbour and Mount Bay to St Michaels Mount. A pair of binoculars was even provided to look out to sea. Very thoughtful. We ate in the pub, and service was great; a good value meal in a busy but not rammed restaurant, so it was relaxed and enjoyable. A big comfy bed and a nice warm shower. Fell asleep almost immediately. Breakfast next day, and another set of staff, equally as welcoming from the tenant to the cleaner, all lovely. Breakfast was good. Will certainly stay again and recommend. Faultless.
Would have loved to have stayed longer!

The location could not be bettered if staying overnight before or after catching the ferry to the Scilly Isles, right by the ferry and a short walk to the railway station. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice, clean, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast, vegans well catered for.
Thereâs no lift but the staff offered to carry bags up and down the stairs, so this wouldnât really be a problem unless you have difficulty with climbing stairs.

The breakfast I thought. Because was just me 7:30 in the morning to have a breakfast so wasnât busy at all. And I wait 20 minutes and when came the egg that I asked to be hard fried egg was the opposite and they hush brown and the mushroom was very greasy actually was dripping in oil, so in other words, I didnât enjoy my breakfast, but I ate and I didnât want to complain because the landlord was a lovely, amazing very helpful person.

The room was lovely and clean. Staff were very helpful and location was ideal to catch an early ferry. The view from window was great but it was a noisy road, which, if you're not used to, could cause some sleep disturbances, so bring your ear plugs! On the whole, room exceeded expectations and was a very pleasant surprise when we booked last minute, due to flight to Scillies being cancelled.
Road noise, car alarms going off a lot and lads in cars with loud music. Didn't get the whole b&b experience as had to leave early for ferry so missed breakfast. This made the room quite pricey so would have liked option to just pay for room only.

Having stayed at the Dolphin before, I knew what to expect, which is why I returned. I love the quirky feel of the rooms - the sash windows which actually open, and the sloping floors. Great views of Mounts Bay or the harbour as well. The rooms are clean, well furnished, comfortable beds, and brilliant modern bathrooms. The general ambience is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and evening meals are tasty and reasonably priced. Gorgeous brown toast, made with bread from Morrisons apparently! Good choice of wines, also very important! Oh, not forgetting the lovely staff...
Maybe the bedding? I like 100% cotton. However, I'm being really picky here!

Very comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower. Only 3 minutes walk to ferry, and 10 minutes to station. Staff offered to carry our cases upstairs. The tavern is a really old traditional pub, but our bedroom and bathroom had all the latest fittings. The breakfast and evening meal were both excellent. We enjoyed watching the Morris dancers outside in the evening.
There was nothing not to like.

We booked this accommodation as it was close to the ferry port and had really good reviews. Our ferry was cancelled and not due to sail until the Friday. The manager was really helpful when I contacted to try and change our booking date, unfortunately they were full but we decided to travel down on the Tuesday. The staff were so friendly & helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely stay again if visiting Penzanze. The food was really nice too both evening meal & breakfast đ Perfect location for the Ferry Port and the Town Centre. Only a 10 minute walk to the Train Station & Bus Station. The room had a set of Binoculars in the window cill which we thought was a lovely idea for guests looking out into the harbour.
