The location is good. The staff are friendly & very helpful. We enjoyed the view from our room over the river. The reception, bar & dining areas are very welcoming.

The mattress was very uncomfortable. It was hard & dipped in the middle. The bathroom needs refurbished. I was told that this is going to be done. Water leaked from the base of the shower which is over the bath. It was evident by the mould in that area behind the tap that this has been happening for sometime. We had dinner at the hotel. I didn’t enjoy mine, there was barely any wild mushrooms in my risotto. The breakfast was a cooked buffet selection which wasn’t very warm. There is a carpark with very limited parking spaces.

The Royal George was wonderful! It's in a beautiful and convenient location, the staff were all incredibly lovely, and the room was cute and cozy. It's perfect walking distance to the town center, restaurants, shops, and museums. We originally booked at the Royal George due to its great prices and cool history. We read that Queen Victoria and her family stayed there while visiting Perth, so being history buffs, my friend and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay in a historic place. Upon checking out, it just crossed my mind to ask which room the queen stayed in, just out of curiosity. We should have asked when we checked in because the staff told us we actually stayed in one of the rooms Queen Victoria and her family were in! It was an incredible surprise and learning that was a highlight of our trip. When we return to Perth on our next Highlands road trip, we will definitely be staying at the Royal George again!

Nothing!

Astounding room quality. Goof looking design with a gorgeous bathroom designed in marble aesthetic. Clean all around and feel like a place of respect and curtousy from staff and even the people booking in to the hotel. Everything was good right down to the unlimited breakfast. Only gripe for some folk is that the pillows were firmer but it suited me. We got a mini suit but the bathroom was plush and luxurious. I wouldn't expect that in a standard room. But do expect quality all the same. I also had a river view and it was nice seeing ghe bridge ligjt up in deep purple at night. Facilities included a games and pool room and a gym. Couldn't find them but had to ask staff. They were located in a basement so it felt private when using it. I'd recommend the mini suit for the upgraded room size and the upgrade in bathroom. If you are a couple and want intimacy then please do book the mini suit. Though a standard room looked decent too. I'll be checking in again to try the full suit next time. Probably similar but zi expect good things. Tye mini suit seems to never change in price but the full suit drops to £170 sometimes, as of writing this. Overall rating 9/10.

Partner prefers soft pillows. Didn't seem to have a choice but overall she was fine with it. Some rooms may have different designs and colour schemes. It's hard to tell what you're getting upfront. Being able to see the full suit with pictures clearly labelled would help too. I'd like a better Indication of what I personally am getting. Rather than a random room of similar quality. All in all though I can't complain.

Great location in Perth a short 3 minute walk to the Perth Concert Hall where I was attending a concert and easily accessible from bus/coach station. A nice hotel in a slightly dated but charming Highland hotel. Lovely room overlooking the river with a comfy bed and a large bathroom. Great breakfast , buffet style , but everything well cooked and presented . All staff were welcoming and friendly but a big shout out to Helen and Aimee who worked a very busy breakfast room , always smiling and so helpful , even going off to make me a hot chocolate as I don't drink tea/coffee. Lots of people were enjoying a High Tea which looked amazing.

Dinner was not good . Very small portion , not very well cooked and very expensive for what was provided. Recommend eating elsewhere in Perth

Location was perfect & room over looked river which was good. An old building which had been looked after well. Interesting elements from the past particularly in the entrance area. Obviously well used by local community- meeting rooms etc

No hooks in bathroom or on bedroom door. Hotel car park is very cramped (not sure it could take 20 cars!). Couldn’t tell if it was full before driving in (it was) & couldn’t have got back out without help from another person. Reception staff & staff at breakfast were not unfriendly but neither were they friendly or welcoming. Felt the hotel as a whole could have been a little more ‘special ’ given its position & history.

Reception and waiting staff were so helpful, welcoming and friendly. Great value high tea menu and good selection at breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful hotel, like stepping back in time. Great location for concert hall and in a street with a lot of great wee independent shops.

TV in twin room was tiny with very few available channels, all of which had a lot of interference. Twin beds were too close together, it may as well have been a double bed. Cord for kettle was too short to reach the socket under the table meant having to boil kettle on floor.

Lovely old gem of a hotel. Very comfortable.

Service was lacking a bit. When we checked in we waited a few minutes at the desk while staff were chatting in the office. When we attempted to check out the same happened so we left the key and departed. Booking.com said it was payment on arrival. Assuming this had been done we received a call later in the day to tell us we had left without paying. Had there been staff on reception we could have settled the bill before departure. We also waited 15 minutes (genuinely) at the bar to be served . We did consider staying for dinner but decided against it. It could be useful to put up a notice if the car park is full. It is very small and first come first served. The problem is it is very awkward to get in and out of. Had I known it was full I would not have attempted it.

The staff were very professional ie Receptionist, and the lady in charge of Breakfast, the public areas were brilliant. Tastefully decorated for Christmas.

I was in room 19 part of the curtain was off the curtain rails , I would have expected the Chambermaids to have let reception know, when I told reception they knew nothing about it. I only told them the night before leaving as to be fair it didn’t bother me too much it would have been a ladder job as the ceilings were so high.

Location was brilliant as we were going to the concert hall - literally round the corner. It’s a very old, traditional hotel but it has been restored to a high standard. Service was impecable and our room comfortable .

Breakfast was good but a little chaotic. The hotel was busy ( concert! ) but the staff did a good job of replenishing things as they ran out . Very traditional British cooked breakfast . Just improve the lay out to prevent bottlenecks for toast and hot drinks - oh and get proper boiling water for tea please.

The room was lovely and clean, as was the hotel on the whole, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and there were options for myself as a vegetarian, although it was essentially just cereal/granola and toast but I was content with that. The location was perfect for what I needed. Parking was available.

The shower was pretty cold regardless of how long I ran it for. The room was slightly more expensive than I thought it should be for what I received, although the breakfast was included. I asked for a twin room as I was staying with a co-worker and although the beds were indeed singles, they were almost pushed together which wasn't ideal.
