Beautiful location, easy walk into the town centre. We stayed in a hunting lodge which was light and bright. It was very spacious and the addition of a bath was a bonus. The area of the accommodation was peaceful and a short distance from the hotel.
The floor in the lodge was so creaky and when the lodge above was occupied their flooring was so noisy it woke us up. Definitely needs some form of sound proofing. The kitchen was not as well equipped as I would expect with just 2 saucepans, no small cutting knife, no vegetable peeler and no drainer for sink. These are the minimum I would expect in self catering accommodation.

Staff very informative and welcoming
When checking out in the midst of a storm, we enquired if it was safe to travel south, the receptionist informed us, the storm, was still in the red zone. The receptionist then informed us that it was unsafe to exit the main drive and to exit via the service road, due to fallen branches. At no time did the staff offer any alternatives to travelling, possibly staying on or offer a deal to stay on, which I thought would have been a more safer an enticing prospect.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The spa facilities were amazing and the spa area was very quiet which was exactly what I wanted. We both got a massage, this was very good. Staff were lovely and experienced. The relaxation room after your massage was excellent, there was hot drinks and blankets, a view to the Scottish countryside was also right in front of you which helped us relax. I used the gym which was clean and easy to figure out. We had afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly. This was all very tasty and we had a lovely view over the Scottish country side. We also had breakfast in this same area. Breakfast was well stocked and had everything you needed and more. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. We had dinner in the bar area on the first night. Cocktails were tasty. We both had steak which was well cooked. Check in and check out was fuss free and all staff were attentive.
I was not sure what champagne was used for the afternoon tea, the champagne flutes said a luxury brand but then a bottle of bubbly came out which was not the same brand as the glasses, which was a little disappointing. One of the deserts was a trifle made in a stubby wine glass. This wasn’t in keeping with the dainty luxury feel of the afternoon tea and it was too big to eat. A little version in a special pot or dish would be more in keeping with the experience. The music that was playing in the bar while we were having dinner was dance music or similar, this dampened the atmosphere of a luxury hotel and meal experience. Some sort of classier music or traditional Scottish music would’ve been nicer.

What a treat! Complimentary honey-whiskey at check-in set the tone. Just walking through the lobby to the lift put us in such a pleasant state. Room was spacious with just the right mattress and a sleek, modern bath. Drinks on the patio followed by a stroll on the grounds. Opted for dinner in the pub where a guitar player kept spirits up while the volume allowed conversation. Chip and putt at sunset was an unexpected gift. Breakfast in the great dining room offered an over abundance of options while the full wall of windows framed the beauty of the landscape perch.
Regret not knowing how nice this place is and not staying longer to indulge in the spa. Next time, definitely. Only detraction was some inexperienced pub staff still learning the computer system but they were sincere and welcoming.

We go to the Atholl Palace every year and it never disappoints, be it a hotel room, the gate house or a lodge. This time we stayed in the Woodlands 'lodge' which is actually a house with two large bedrooms, a big kitchen and a decent living area. It looked recently decorated and was very clean, with a welcome basket of tea, coffee, bread etc which was a nice touch. The hotel itself is lovely, with old world Victorian charm, blazing fires and a nice pool. The views from the hotel are beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous.
Food and drink is quite expensive but thats the same in most places in Pitlochry.

We’ve often stayed at the Atholl Palace, it has changed greatly over the years. The foyer is comfortable area to sit and relax, warm and inviting. The views from the hotel are outstanding, we were lucky enough to have a suite(although a bit of a climb) the room was comfortable with incredible views.
Unfortunately due to the age of the property if you had difficulty climbing stairs, it would be difficult to move around easily. Breakfast was more of a bun fight and not particularly relaxing. Cold plates and long waits for hot food. Staff seemed stressed and quite short with visitors. We also ordered papers for the room, which despite several requests did not materialise. These are things that could easily be put right.

Beautiful accommodations with a good sized room and bathroom. The amenities at this hotel are outstanding. I took advantage of the laundry room available fior guest use. That was very convenient to have access to. The spa is also a wonderful experience. Lovely grounds for walking or taking advantage of the tennis courts and putting green. The lobby was amazing with lots of places to sit, enjoy a beverage, or converse in front of a wood burning fireplace. There’s a bar and restaurant on site with a great menu so you really don’t have to leave the hotel at all! But if you do there’s plenty to see and do in the beautiful town of Pitlochry.

Location was wonderful. Room was wonderful with fantastic view. Receptionists were wonderful.
One girl in the bar was very surly and looked like she did not want to be there. She literally threw food and drinks on table in front of us. I was watching her during the evening and she did not smile once and just looked angry all the time. Also whoever services the rooms is very inefficient. There was no tea left in the trays after the first night so I went down to get some extras and they threw the extra ones away the following day. So they threw away unused teas and left no new ones. The trays were filthy as well. Evening meals were not up to standard for the cost of them.

We stayed in a self catering lodge for 3 nights. The appt. itself was perfect for our needs. It’s was exceptionally clean and the bed was super comfy. We loved the location - on the edge of town - away from the hustle and bustle, as Pitlochry can get very busy in the peak summer months. However, it is only a short walk to all of the restaurants, pubs and shops. We will return!
The kitchen itself is perfect for cooking, but there was a shortage of plates and cups. I think this is probably due to breakages, but the hotel could do with an inventory to ensure that these are replaced. This wasn’t a big issue for us, but if you want to cook instead of going out to eat it, may be more of an issue.

Hotel was beautiful and the grounds were meticulously maintained and designed. Although a hugely daunting structure, the surroundings gardens and flora help blend the hotel into it's perthshire surroundings. This was our first time at this hotel, but from the moment we walked in to the hotel, we loved it. Gave some Shining vibes up on the 3rd floor due to the style, but we really enjoyed this. Staff were very very helpful also. The downstairs sitting area once through reception was cosy and inviting, with fireplaces on both sides. The decor was very much the style we wanted from a hotel in Perthshire :)
Our room was almost perfect - had a couple of small areas that looked a little tired such as the wallpaper/paint and the bath tub appeared to have a chip in the enamel.
