It is easily accessible, simple and easy through Devonport Train Station. Plymouth main station is about 30 min walk and buses are easy to figure out. The place was across lovely Devonport Park. Neighborhood was quiet. Bottom line: good price for the night. If it’s a quick trip and there is no need for frills, this is perfect. pubs near by and the ferry to cornwall’s Torpoint is 10 - 15 minutes. There is a bus station at the ferry terminal. Taxis as well.

Nothing. Some with need for accessible rooms may find stairs to upper levels difficult, but call. My room had a shower and a sink. A dedicated restroom was available. Fine by me, but call and ask for private commodes.

Dave & Sally are great hosts, very obliging and helpful. Good value for the price but weather very hot so room rather stuffy a floor fan and small fridge would have been perfect. Would recommend to family & friends although it is in Devonport some distance from Plymouth but train just around corner and cheap as chips. Would be happy to book again as Plymouth is fabulous for shops, sights, restaurants and bars and we weren't staying long enough to cover everything. Hosts very informative about the area and local attractions.

Window didn't open wide enough and towel rail needs fixing

It’s “old fashioned” accommodation. Good-sized rooms (although the en-suite was a little on the small side) and I didn’t see any Formica! Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The view over the park (not all bedrooms, I understand) is excellent. The park opposite is great to walk around, watch the bowls etc. etc. and a has a very good cafe. Very good pub within 2 minutes walk. As pubs used to be, with a wonderful host/cook/barmaid (Nicola). She made me feel very welcome by introducing me to each of the locals as they arrived, and provided a very good Ham, egg & chips.

The bathroom was a little small. Given the (very large) size of the bedroom, a little could be sacrificed to improve the bathroom (but I understand that this would incur a cost).

Really friendly hosts with a spotlessly clean room. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was fine. Nice touches such as tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Easy access to the building at all hours. In a lovely spot by a park and parking looks really easy. I would say its quite a distance to walk there from Plymouth city centre though - its quite a hilly route too. I would recommend getting a ride there and back. If you are getting there by train, I'd recommend using Devonport station, not Plymouth as Devonport is a 2 minute walk away yet Central is quite a distance away.

An extended check out time (currently 10am) for a weekend stay would be good.

My wife, daughter & grandson stayed for 2 nights to attend another grandson's passing out parade at HMS Raleigh. As soon as they returned my wife said "Rob , you must give the hotel an excellent rating, the staff were so kind and helpful. Clearly a family run establishment with the personal attention to detail that make a big difference." I was also very pleased with my communications with the owners prior to mya family's arrival. Overall, excellent!

Nice clean room and bathroom, opposite a park. Friendly helpful staff one of whom waited for me although I arrived late to check in. Clearly has excellent noise insulation as I didn't hear any other occupants. Lovely fluffy towels!

My room was on the second floor which I hadn't considered so the stairs were tricky. The paintwork in the halls and stairways is scuffed and scruffy looking so could do with a touch up.

I was very lucky to be able to stay here after my original hotel cancelled my booking with less than 12 hrs notice. The owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating! I arrived early and asked if I could leave my bag there until check in time, but the room was ready and they allowed me to check in early for which I was very grateful. There is a wonderful park directly across the road and a train station a 3 minute walk away. Charming house and highly recommended

It's only something very small to note: that there was no socket beside the bed, but it is an old building so it is to be expected. It was not a problem.

The hotel is situated by the park. There is ample on street parking available which is free. The owners were very nice. The room we had was spacious and had its own en suite. Towels are supplied and there was hand towels as well as bath towels. The room had tea/ coffee making facilities and a pack of biscuits. Also in the room were 2 soft chairs and a table which was great while we were having a cuppa while looking out at the lovely view of the park. The room had a nice comfortable bed and had bedside tables. On one side it had a radio clock alarm. There was a long mirror on one of the walls. There was a wardrobe which had a small ironing board inside as well as a warm blanket for those cold evenings. The tv had the usual Freeview channels. A very nice and comfortable room and a lovely hotel with great hosts

Friendly gentleman greeted me, gave me helpful information on the local area. I stayed for a job interview, however would definitely stay for a holiday. It's quiet enough to have a nice quiet sleep, but close enough to walk into town. The facilities are very good for what you pay, and as I said the staff are very friendly and helpful. Free parking all day is deffinitely a bonus so close to the city. Thanks again for your hospitality.

The property was situated on a very quiet street to the west of the city centre, 3 minutes from the car ferry. upon arrival the hosts were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much for them, which was highly appreciated after a long journey! in the single room, I had a TV, desk space, a VERY comfy bed, hotel drinks station, and my shower was in my room which was nice. I had a private bathroom which was just across the landing too. All very clean! When booking, we were only after a budget hotel, however the hosts, room, location and general atmosphere of the hotel was above and beyond what we paid for! The hosts were always around to help with anything, and they even let us leave our luggage in a secure room after check out at 10 so we were able to go and explore Plymouth. I would highly recommend staying at The Mountbatten Hotel, and can’t wait to visit again soon. Best surprise was how comfy the beds were!
