We had a room with a wet room, which was good for me as I have mobility issues. The bonus was that it was also dog friendly. It was also good for us as it was just off the M6, and it has plenty of grounds to walk a dog where dog bins are provided. Also, if you need to take a longer walk with your dog, there's a nice park next door

It wasn't an issue as such, but we are not fans of buffet breakfast, which we had to have on the Sunday, apparently due to a wedding !!!! However, the breakfast we were served on Saturday was very good 👍

From reception to bar and waiting staff everyone was welcoming and friendly. I travelled with my Guide Dog and the staff were brilliant with him, really dog friendly. The surroundings are cosy and comfortable. My room was lovely, the bathroom was massive (I've stayed in smaller rooms in big brand hotels), a separate bath, and shower, the room was clean and had everything you needed. We ate in the bar and our meals were excellent, steaks were cooked perfectly and were very tasty, a good selection at the bar so there was no need to go anywhere at night. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from. If I was ever in the area, this hotel would be my first choice and I'd definitely recommend to others.

The lodge was very conveniently located just off the M6. The room, executive double, was more than big enough with good storage and a lovely bathroom. The bar area was great and had a decent choice of drinks. Even though the hotel had a wedding on, they accommodated our small group in a quiet room for dinner and it was excellent. What made the whole stay was the staff. They were friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. It was really nice to see a predominately young staff who appeared to enjoy their work and this came across in the experience we had.

Thank you to the team for welcoming me and Jett so well. The home cooked food and personality of the staff make this hotel a great place to stay. I loved being welcomed at the door and shown to my room, heating on for out arrival with dog bed, bowl and treats to settle us in. Thank you for enabling and welcoming Jett at breakfast, with a plate of sausages just for him and a real heartfelt awareness of how much this means to owners. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, tidy and clean. A real home from home. We will be staying again

The hotel are modernising, but smart TV's could be installed to bring you up to 2024... But that's being picky!

Friendly and attentive staff. Bar meal was good. Room size for us was perfect. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Did not have enough time to enjoy the outside space nor the location but was ideal for our overnight stop. Easy route back to the motorway.

If there was a negative the ivy needs to be cut back so you can close the bathroom window. A shower cap would have been beneficial. It would be nice to know what outlook your room might have as there are nice grounds around the accommodation.

This was very much a last minute booking, we didn’t arrive until midnight, initially we couldn’t find the correct entrance, but the Night Manager was extremely helpful and welcoming, we had travelled from Suffolk and were obviously quite tired, he showed us to a very comfortable, clean, quiet room, with an extra large bed, which was what we had requested when booking.

I think charging service on coffee in the lounge is unusual. Two coffee’s were over £9.00 which seems excessive.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfy. The facilities in the room were also very good. It wasn't too warm either, like a lot of modern hotels are. Couldn't fault it other than the obvious...

Despite being a large bathroom with otherwise quality fittings, the shower cubicle was teeny tiny, with a big basket thing fastened to the wall taking up much needed space. This made showering properly an impossible experience, so much so that I gave up in the end and finished off in the bath. The shower pan was also raised off the floor quite a bit, which made exiting via the corner door rather precarious with the long, tall step that was required. I'm surprised that it is allowed with today's health and safety. Such a big bathroom ruined by a dodgy shower installation, c'mon, it's an easy fix...

The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. The fried and poached eggs were excellent. The food in the restaurant was very good. The lounge bar was comfortable and relaxing.

The bacon was a little too salty and scrambled eggs rubbery as if made from a mass produced liquid egg. I would have thought that the TVs should have been able to connect to streaming services like BBC iplayer, Netflix, Disney+ etc.

The staff on reception were lovely , very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was very good . Nice surroundings

We stayed there to attend a wedding a couple of miles away . When we returned at 12.45 am , we couldn’t get in . There was another couple who had been trying for 30 minutes . We had to shout and bang on the door., which woke other guests . Apparently the night porter had not been informed there were guests out late despite reception being aware of this When he eventually let us in he was rather rude , and said he’d been in the kitchen and hadn’t heard us . We had also rang reception several times . I would say there needed to be better communication, as well as inconvenience to us. , several other guests had been woken up , with one on his way downstairs to let us in !

We loved the place, the room was excellent and bed so comfortable. Staff were so helpful, kind and very friendly. Absolutely loved the hotel, loved the room, the food was excellent too. The grounds are beautiful. A great place and we will be coming again.

There was only one thing I noticed nothing major was the courtyard, there was some broken glass, extremely small and it was there a couple of days. Courtyard needs a good sweep and possibly jetwash. Also, I think the rooms need a hover at least every other day if people stay longer than 2 days.
