Everything was very good.Apart from the catering

He menu was very limited and more like a pub menu than one you would expect from such a beautiful hotel .My starte was pate and I was given two tiny pieces of melba toast. My wife had curry and the chef had forgot to put the rice in the microwave from the fridge.Another guest who had stayed for the week said he had seen at least 30 meals sent back .Coffee was cold at breakfast and a few items needed avoiding on the buffet style menu ..The kitchen is letting down this beautiful hotel

The food was excellent for breakfast and also for evening meals, the staff in all departments were very friendly and made sure you were looked after. There was a wedding whilst we were there and the staff were busy but we were still looked after very well. The hotel has a lovely conservatory and lounge area which were lovely to sit in and have a drink etc. Can’t praise the staff enough, we don’t usually do a returning stay at a hotel but would stay again.

Nothing really only the pillows were a bit firm, but that’s just a personal choice.

Having been recently taken over the hotel new owners have kept on key staff and the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. Although the room we stayed in was the bridal suite it is ready for modernization and we have been assured that this is in hand. The three poster bed is huge ++ (but too hard for us --). The jacuzzi bath is lovely. The sofa is a little soft..... We had a fantastic Christmas eve meal, Christmas dinner and we're well looked after. We will always recommend this hotel as generally the rooms are excellent the service fantastic and the food excellent and the hotel is located perfectly for access. In addition we have had events here (my wife's 50th, New Year's eve, other parties and charity fundraisers. We look forward to our next visit.

We liked the room. It may need an upgrade soon, but it was clean and comfortable and one of the staff noticed my partner’s birthday cards, and made a fantastic swan sculpture from the clean towels! Sheila was chuffed to bits. We really enjoyed the pool. The floor is a bit slippy on the way in, and the mens showers were only giving cold water. Not a problem in this weather, but I wouldn’t want to shower before using the pool if it was a bit chiller out doors. Your staff are fantastic! Everyone of them was lovely. They chatted to us about where we had been, what we had seen, we’re we had eaten locally ( your food and service where excellent by the way ) and we loved hearing about forthcoming weddings and births ( bless you both and we hope all goes well for both of you and you loved ones) all in all, I’d say what a great week and what value for money. Best wishes to all at the Oriel Hotel, your doing a great job at making people feel at home.👍

Listen, Sheila will tell you, I’m a grumpy old sod. But; not much really. There was a noisy buzzard in the trees opposite our window……but I’m not sure shure what you could do about that! A shower head that went up further? But that would be nit picking. A plumber to find out why hot water is flushing the loo in our room (111) odd, but not really a problem. All in all, not much. Oh, better Coffee in the the breakfast room. It is not what I would call coffee. More like hot……something.

Excellent service for us to bring our dog to the hotel. Dog bowls, treats and best of all a huge dog duvet provided in the room. We could even eat breakfast with him on the terrace if we needed. Lovely garden to walk him around and his morning walk to the paper shop was 30 mins to the village and back. Pool looked lovely and we planned to have a dip but decided on a lie-in instead. Location was fab for exploring North Wales.

Shame the restaurant was closed on Bank Holiday Sunday as we struggled to find somewhere decent to eat that night.

The location was ideal for our requirements and the hotel was good value for money. The staff were excellent and dealt with everything asked of them in particular Ann on reception when we arrived, Beth who looked after us for drinks and our evening meal and Amber on check out. The evening meal was lovely - and great value so a big thank you to the chef also, even though we didn’t see him.

Only stayed the 1 night but seems a little dated from when we stayed there before some years ago.

We had a wonderful 4 day break in St Asaph. The hotel was lovely. Set in beautiful gardens. We were lucky with the weather, so were able to eat our delicious breakfasts and evening meals outside. The staff at the hotel are the best you could wish for, that includes all staff, so friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks to everyone.

Nothing.

Room was clean, comfortable and well appointed The staff were all very friendly and helpful We used the restaurant for our evening meal and it had a fairly good menu and was priced competitively. The food was good and nicely presented Buffet breakfast was great - choice of cereals, juices, pastries, and full cooked breakfast items, tea and coffee Excellent sized car park

Some of the toilet fittings were a little loose (toilet roll holder) A shelf or extra towel railing would be of benefit in the bathroom

Booking in was easy and the room was clean with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was meant to begin at 7.00am. However, when I went down at 07.15 there was no cooked breakfast available. This didn't arrive until after 7.30 and then it was arrived bit by bit (some fried eggs, followed by bacon, then hash browns etc) but even by 8 O'Clock they still hadn't managed to get the complete breakfast out!

Set in beautiful grounds our one night stay at the Oriel Hotel exceeded expectations. Friendly welcome , amazing staff team who ensured we had everything we needed , nothing was too much trouble . Great food , super breakfast selection . We highly recommend.

Our only suggestion would be to consider some type of privacy blind and or screening on the downstairs bedroom windows as the area outside our rooms was for car parking and for the swimming pool visitors.
