I booked this as it was by far the cheapest place available in the city centre, and only needed somewhere to crash out after going to an event. After booking, I read a few reviews and have to admit I was a little worried what it would be like. However, I had a warm welcome and easy check-in experience, the room itself was clean functional, exactly what I needed, comfortable bed. For the price, you get a convenient and excellent value stay right I the city centre. If you want luxury, there are plenty of more expensive places. I will definitely use the Huntsman again.

Forgot my earplugs - walls very thin (old building)...whoever was in the room next to me had a lovely night's sleep snoring away! So definitely bring earplugs if noise sensitive. I'm never a huge fan of a shared bathroom and this one was definitely a little dated, I didn't use the shower but the loo was clean enough, and my room had a nice clean sink in it anyway, so that's all I needed!

For the price, this place was great and had everything we needed. The location is good and while we didn't do any tourist activities, it seems central, is a short walk to the train station, and has lots of great restaurants and pubs nearby. The kettle and instant coffee in the room was welcome, and there was a fan, which was greatly appreciated since we stayed on the hottest night of the year so far. Staff also provided extra towels when asked and were helpful with finding good restaurants and taxis. Drink prices in the pub were good. The room was clean, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the carpet seemed new.

It would be nice if it was clearer that there is one communal bathroom, although fortunately we didn't have to wait at any point. The bath mats could use a wash. The room was also very hot, but given that it's summer and the building has no AC, it can't be helped, and they did provide a fan.

Convenient distance from train station and work

Bed and linen clean and comfortable bed but carpets dirty, dust all over the surfaces and bedside lamp shade full of dust as well as the wardrobe mirror. Communal bathroom for ladies and gentleman not really ideal. Hand basin in bedroom no hot water. Ironing board in bedroom but no iron. Dust on the tea/coffee tray concerning. Place need updating, revamping to look cleaner.

Location is perfect. Excellent bedding Clean room generally Carpet can be cleaned more Can't comment on the breakfast as I left early before Breakfast Bathroom easily floods. Could all users be told to clean up after shower. Please provide a mop

Could be wrong. But would prefer a fridge and freezer for food storage for us who come for a week for work. Floor flooding in the bathroom

The reception person was so kind and instructive on everything with also explaining all tour information I was curious. The rooms was very quite and clean with lots of coffees and teas to enjoy with (really, a lot). Bathroom is shared along the rooms in the same floor but it is very clean (will stay clean if everyone uses and keeps it clean). Rooms was also quiet at night even though reception person poked me it there might be a little noise at night since ground floor is 'tavern'. A huge dog will welcome you if you wait at the reception.

Nothing but if I have to say, it is about 15 minutes walk from the city center. Nothing for me but for everyone's reference.

Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Room was of a good size and was comfortable. Shared bathroom was very clean and communal areas were also clean and tidy. Met some of the locals from the area who were also very friendly even inviting me over for a game of pool

Cant think of anything that I disliked to be perfectly honest everything was as expected or better

Rob, Phil and all the staff very welcoming and friendly. Sky sports, 2 good pool tables, two main televisions with a smaller one. Plenty of seats. Clean bathroom with an excellent shower. Smoking outside or on the veranda. Coffee and tea aplenty.

Nothing to not like. Would definitely stay again. Very close to city centre, a short walk away. All in all highly recommended.

We saw the description and knew that it was a pub and therefore a chance of noise in the bar ect but everything was fine. Loved the matress. The curtains are blackout so suitedus to a tea.Heating could be turned off and on by ourselves. Everything was as expected. Best of all it was 300 yds from where we wanted to be as being disabled it meant I did not have far to walk

Run as a tight ship which is a blessing... I liked the toasty warm (shared) bathroom (with easy window access); the delicious breakfasts (9am to 11am); the decor in my room; the very useful bedroom sink; the products and loo rolls - generously provided - the cosiness; the Yorkshire Tea; the music on the juke box downstairs; the generally friendly folk in the pub; the ease of access to central Salisbury; the awareness that there's a war going on as well as sport; and the Manager...

I loved it so nothing...

Great little pub within walking distance of the city amenities and all the public transport links. Room was clean and comfortable. Fan provided. Complimentary tea and coffee available. Very friendly locals in the bar who made me feel very welcome with well stocked and reasonably priced drinks available at the bar. Great value for money!

Really happy with my stay!
