The venue was everything We expected. Comfy, cosy rooms. Very quiet. Excellent evening meal and very good choice for breakfast. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. It so happened that we had stayed here in 2012 so obviously there was something at the back of my mind that I’d made a good decision before I booked!

Atmosphere of the pub - a proper country pub. Excellent food and beers ( kept well). Comfy, well appointed rooms in a quiet location.

This is a real find. The welcome is genuine and the rooms are excellent - spacious, scrupulously clean, comfortable and well appointed. But where this establishment simply soars away from its competitors is in the food that it offers. At first sight I thought the evening menu looked a bit ambitious for a place this size but how wrong I was; the dishes are imaginatively conceived and the results are perfect. It's a truly accomplished kitchen. The beer is local and well kept; the wine list is broad and reasonable and the service is excellent. I also have to make a note that this is probably the one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in decades of travelling. The meats are locally produced and hark back to the days when bacon actually tasted of bacon; they take the care of peeling the tomatoes (I've been to high-end, 5 star establishments that don't do that), and the coffee is delicious. If you're booking a place in Suffolk then look no further. And bring your best appetite...

I had no reason to find anything negative. Their endeavours deserve every success.

The White Horse is a fantastic base for exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside. Neil and Gill are superb hosts with an excellent team around them. This was our first visit back to this pub for a while and it was lovely to see that it was just as exceptional as we remembered. The team are all so friendly and the service is excellent. The food is delicious with a regularly changed menu. We stayed 4 nights and we were still working our way through the varied menu. The rooms are very well maintained and absolutely spotless. The breakfast menu is also very varied, nothing is too much trouble.

We enjoyed everything.

The quiet village location was ideal . The busy pub was exceptional in every way from the staff the food, the cleanliness , the comfort . I have to say how much we enjoyed this stay ata very welcoming and hospitable period pub with an excellent and modern menu. The room was modern and ever so clean. One of our best stays in many many years , thank you just what we needed to unwind after a long long day house hunting in the area !

I can’t think of anything that could have been improved other than we got to stay a few more nights, it was lovely

The double suite was wonderful - we loved it - spotlessly clean, great layout, decor, quality of furnishing, such a comfortable bed - literally everything was lovely in the room. The dinner was amazing - my partner had the seabass and I had the lamb - both were superbly cooked and presented and the service was the perfect level of attentive without being over-bearing. The team here are so friendly and keen to satisfy their customers - special shout out to the chap who served us breakfast on Sunday 29 May... polite and good humoured - really super. I can't say enough positive things about our weekend stay - it really was a wonderful little break in a perfect place for us - thank you for making our stay so enjoyable :)

The only thing that could have been better for us is a slightly later check out - check out by 10.30am is rather early... especially for a Sunday on a weekend away :)

This property is a little hidden gem. We booked last minute and it was in a very specific locality to suit our need. Our room was spotless and then some. The staff are welcoming and efficient and OH MY ! The evening meal was exceptional. I cannot extol my excitement enough about the cabbage side dish. I think I would return for it alone. My husband however was having his epiphany over the pork belly. It is a favourite of his but he was particularly impressed with this. Over all lovely food great hosts.

I really couldn’t complain about anything

The evening meals were superb. Choice was fantastic. Great chef! Staff were friendly and efficient. Lovely ambience in the restaurant area. High level of cleanliness in all areas. Bedrooms were very well decorated and light and airy.

Single beds were a little narrow. Coffee and tea could be improved.

Such beautiful decor in the bar/restaurant. Especially loved the fire! Room was lovely and the food was great. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to sample a cooked breakfast due to an early check-out however the owner provided a tray of continental breakfast items for me to take back to my room. Such a lovely touch.

Everything was perfect, the owners were sociable, the staff all pleasant and the food was excellent and very well cooked a tasty

there was nothing we disliked about the property. The only thing we would suggest is a little background music as when it’s quiet in the restaurant you can hear each other’s conversations, but that’s minor

Lovely accommodation, well appointed and very clean. Landlords very amenable. Had evening meal in pub and was very good and of a high standard and presentation, as was breakfast the next morning. Excellent location for mid Suffolk and Southwold.
