The hotel was a former Manor House set in the back drop of beautiful green hills and fields. We were welcomed by a blazing log fire which I sat by reading the complimentary newspapers. The decor was rich with a a bold red hallway leading us to the bedrooms. We were early so we ordered a Sunday Roast and we sat and ate in the airy dining room. It was very good. The room was beautiful, it cannot be faulted. The furniture was in keeping with the period house. There were lovely long floor length curtains blackout curtains. A deep luxurious bath with gorgeous soaps. The bed was so comfortable and pillows fluffy it was dreamy. The room and bathroom was spotless. To top it all there was complimentary water, tea and coffee in the room. Before breakfast we walked around. The grounds, garden and lawn were picture perfect. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, using local produce and was delicious. There was a choice of traditional Yorkshire breakfast, kippers, smoked salmon and Egg Benedicts, plus cereals , fruit and yogurts. It was just an 8 minute walk from the station to this quiet peaceful haven, and 15 minute leisurely walk to the beautiful historic town. Certainly the best 3 star hotel I have stayed in and better than many 4 stars. Excellent.
I cannot think of anything to dislike.

Very comfortable room with a large double bed. Nice restaurant on site, although the 3 course menu was a bit limited in choice. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Our room was at the back overlooking the bins and above the kitchen doors. The noise and colourful language of the staff meant keeping the windows closed, which in turn made the room a bit stuffy

What did I like? Absolutely Everything!! I had a beautiful room with a lovely view. It was a double room with a 4 poster bed which was so comfortable and although quite big it was ever so cosy, warm and welcoming and I felt totally at home. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice and I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. They were so friendly, helpful and efficient they completely made my stay such a wonderful experience. I had to catch an early train on my last day before breakfast but the staff very kindly made up a packed breakfast for me to take when I left. I so appreciated that as it was a long train journey home. It is a beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens and although it was winter I could still appreciate the beauty of the area and the town.
there was absolutely nothing I did not like or anything to find fault with and I would be more than happy to return to this venue if visiting the area again,

When we arrived at Falcon Manor we were very impressed with the reception, the fire was lit and crackling in the hearth and it gave a fabulous smell and certainly gave us comfort on a chilly November day. We were so impressed with the beautiful fittings, each room and corridor had been tastefully designed. The bedroom was perfect, very clean and well appointed. The bed was super comfy and we slept so well after an evening around Settle that was a 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice and the best we've had in the longest time, we recommend the salmon & scrambled eggs. The staff we met were very attentive and friendly. We look forward to returning very soon.
I didn't like the fact I was only staying for one night.

We had a room with a bath pure luxury. The hotel was stunning. The staff were friendly we had a very relaxing stay.
We planned on eating at the hotel but when we sat for dinner was presented with a very limited menu. I am a vegetarian and there was only one vegetarian dish no options. Online the menu has lots of options so this should have been made aware of this when booking. The staff did apologize and said it’s because they had been busy with weddings. Also when I booked it said chocolates in the room for guests but no chocolates. This is probably not important but because we paid a lot of money for our room for our anniversary I expected all the special touches to be there. Even though the staff were exceptionally friendly we were left standing for a while because there were no staff at the reception and no staff around, so the greeting was not there.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by the warm glow of a real fire and the welcoming professionalism of the reception staff. We were invited to discover the guest lounge, bar & dining area, and the elegant function suite before settling into our perfect ensuite room on the first floor. The charming decor, accentuated by candlelight in the communal hallways, presented an eclectic blend of genuine historical elements and contemporary art. The hotel boasts well-groomed gardens featuring a grand pagoda and outdoor seating, offering breath taking views of the Yorkshire Dales. Our stay was complemented by a sumptuous, expertly prepared dinner and a wholesome, satisfying breakfast the next morning.
I genuinely could not find fault with anything.

The staff were beyond wonderful, amazing and helpful, very friendly and welcoming. Couldn't recommend them more. They catered so well for my allergies and were always there to answer questions and offer help. The hotel was very quiet and cozy and the grounds were beautiful, especially in the nice weather. Really needed a peaceful break away from the city to read and write and draw and definitely got it. Thank you SO much, I feel like I was more relaxed there in 3 days than in a 2 week holiday abroad!
My room (#12) could possibly do with a bit of a paint refresh as there was a pretty large patch of damp stained wall above the window, by no means dirty or disgusting but noticeable. It's an old building so it's part of it and didn't effect me at all. Not the best view out into the bins at the back of the property but pretty view of the building. Maybe a bit of noise from the kitchen below but nothing annoying.Otherwise the room was absolutely lovely! Bathroom & amenities were beautiful and clean

Breakfast was excellent. Room was very good, comfortable. Nice selection of hot drinks for adults in room to make. Lovely, complimentary toiletries. Hotel beautifully grand and something very special.
Some damp / wet patches and mould around windows. Toilet brush on view and very dirty. Bar cocktails very slow even when not busy and didn’t taste good. No drinks provided for children in room, for example cordial or juice carton. However, none of these would put me off going here again, these are just small things that could be improved on.

There was a good choice at breakfast and what we had was excellent. We had a 3 course evening meal and again it was good and reasonably priced. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The floor hadn't been cleaned when we arrived and it wasn't cleaned during our stay. There was also dust in the drawers which we didn't see until we took our clothes out.
The cleanliness could have been better especially in the bathroom. We were also at the side of the hotel and on 2 occasions we were woken early (7am) firstly by a delivery and secondly by the bins being emptied, which also created an awful smell as we had the window open.

This is gorgeous setting and location for a stay. I really like the room decor if you are in the main area of the house. The staff here are lovely, especially the night time team.
My grandparents stayed here and two flights of stairs and back corridors was not easy for them. Thankfully the staff did change the room but they had to change again due to them being moved into a room that was booked for the following day. That is a lot of movement for older people. If booking this hotel, which I recommend, state what you need if you have any mobility issues/ or issues with multiple flights of stairs.
