The property is lovely, well-situated for the University of Sheffield and with frequent bus services headed into the city centre, it makes exploring the city super easy. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast at the property was of a really good quality. My partner and I would definitely stay here again.

If someone doesn’t stay by their door, it tends to slam shut quite loud. We also stayed during the early September heatwave and the property had already given out all of their available fans, meaning it was a touch difficult to get to sleep, but aside from that, the property was excellent.

Breakfast was very good and in a very nice place, if its good weather they open the doors for the back garden which is super nice. The staff is very nice. Although the hotel is not in the city centre, is worth staying in here because it is in a very nice location, with restaurants and café close by, and super beautiful gardens, such as the botanical gardens, or the crookes valley park.

The hotel is a very old building, and there were some things to fix in my room, the window didn't close well, the shower has a mecanism that is very hard to use, there should be a shower hose. Also the room could be a little cleaner, it was a little dusty, and there are few plugs, and not even one in the bathroom.

Convenience to hospital within walking distance. Ideal location and the newly added Pizza menu great idea after my husband's half day hospital procedure although shame evening restaurant and bar area not able open currently. We visit the hotel twice a year so hopefully the Pizza snack bar will remain. Very nice it was too which we'd definitely use again. We also pleased we're able obtain same room each visit on request as we do not have encounter stairs.

The hotel doesn't have a lift so if one is less mobile with amount stairs could prove an obstacle but it is hotel of character and we be lucky enough get our desire room encountering no stairs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and very prompt service. Beds were comfortable. Family suite was exceptionally large and well provided with two separate bedrooms, and separate rooms for bathroom/toilet, and shower. Lovely garden accessible from breakfast room.

Some rooms were a little compact, very warm with limited ventilation although fans were provided during an exceptionally hot period. Missing TV remote, loose bathroom door handle, problems getting hot shower (swiftly fixed though) and very small bathroom in one room were unwelcome issues.

The restaurant which was in the large conservatory within a garden setting. My single room was small and cosy but perfectly adequate for my needs with a good shower over the bath. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cooked breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented. The hairdryer was very efficient.

The wooden sash window in my room was a little loose and rattled slightly, also allowing the noise of rain and traffic to permeate although it didn't stop me sleeping as the bed was comfortable. There is no lift so I did struggle a bit with the stairs up to my room and down to the restaurant as I am currently walking with a stick and awaiting knee surgery. For this reason, on my arrival, the receptionist kindly re-allocated me to a different single room, one closer to reception and with less steps.

One of the best places I've ever stayed at. Staff was really kind and obliging, there was a problem with the shower that was taken care of immediately. The room was small but very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The building is old and impressive, yet there are was no nasty smell or mould anywhere. There was a fine selection of tea and instant coffee, and a nice surprise sweet thing when I came back in the evening.

The restaurant and lobby bar are now closed.

Very close to hospital for my appointment. Ground floor accommodation was suitable for me as a wheelchair user including shower cubicle. The only issue was that there was no shelf in the shower to place shampoos but the staff were very understanding about this and said they would install this before our next stay in a fortnight's time.

Car park on site is very convenient, staff allowed us to leave our car there after checkout, until after hospital appointment, the only improvement could be to have a couple of dedicated blue badge spaces at the front car park near Reception.

Ideal location, 10 minute walk to the nearest waetherspoons. 30 minutes to Sheffield City Hall, plenty of bars along the route. Executive bedroom very spacious, bed very comfy.

Car Park very tight, we struggled to park as hardly any space. There is off road parking. £9 per night expensive. Not a secure car park. No iron in bedroom had to borrow one from our friends room, iron was not clean had to try and clean the base. Ironing board was nearly falling apart. Windows only one opened however this was about 5 inch gap so it was very warm and no air. Not pleasant. Electric fan was supplied however just blew the warm air around the room.

Lovely warm room. Comfortable seating area Brilliant breakfast. Fantastic staff who couldn't do enough for us. Slight issue with 1st room allocated. As soon as we said we were offered another room. Within 5 minutes we were in our new room Lovely reception staff took the time to print out the take away menu, she ordered for us and delivered it to our room. Amazing! A few minutes walk from the hospital where an appointment was the reason for being in Sheffield

A lot of stairs to rooms and to the breakfast room. Can't be avoided because of the layout of the building. Not a major issue apart from for people with mobility problems.

It was just great. It was exactly what I needed, I really appreciated the hospitality, and above all that you were there and open even at a quiet time. Thank you for looking after me, and just getting it absolutely right. The decor was unfussy and relaxing. Great iron and ironing board which I needed! and good to have a hairdryer that wasn't attached in the bathroom like in some hotels. Also - the heated mirror in the bathroom! The breakfast set me up really well for the whole day. And you enabled a little extra time before checkout too. Thank you for everything.

I thought the free wifi in my room might not be as strong as I needed; but then I did in fact have a successful Zoom meeting from my room with barely a moment where it wasn't absolutely perfect. I couldn't quite find enough power sockets though for various chargers simultaneously, but that was hardly a problem really.
