The room was clean, there was plenty of storage for our clothes, Steve is cheerful and helpful, having a fridge in the room was really handy, so was the table and chairs. There's a pub next door that does food, the children's portions are very good value for money.

The beds had dust and a tissue under them, the drawers needed fixing so the bottoms didn't fall out, there was a fixed rail instead of a wardrobe, the window blind needed adjusting as it did not go all the way to the bottom of the window, nowhere in the bathroom to store toiletries, one of the chairs was a bit wobbly, it looked like the back of the chair was bent, I'm not sure the continental breakfast was good value for money - £12 for a bowl of cereal, croissant, banana, apple, and yogurt each with a carton of orange juice (from concentrate) to share.

We loved the location close to town lots of tea and coffee available TV had Freeview so that was a bonus There is also WiFi available that runs at a good speed

The bed was like a slab of concrete and being woken up at 4.00am because someone in the room next to us flushed there toilet but that's just being picky Also the lights were a pain one switch over the bed for turning on the main lights and only one lamp that barely lit a corner Also there was a loose tile in the bathroom that had a crack in it.

Welcoming greet by owner who it really friendly and helpful. Room clean bright and nicely decorated. Nice touches like a microwave, fridge, fan, kettle, packet biscuits and a pint of milk. Lovely shower cubicle with power shower and fluffy towels. Comfortable beds and bedding. Hanging space with wooden coat hangers and a small table with chairs. Covid aware with antibacterial hand wash, hand sanitiser and tv remote cleaned and put in sterile bag. Home from home feeling in a busy city. We will definitely be back and have recommend Archers to our friend's, who we came to see for anyone wanting to stay in Southampton

Great location, near the city centre and also Southampton common. Room was a nice size and had extras including microwave and fridge. Pub right next door, which we had a couple of pints and friendly staff there. The owner of guest house met us on arrival and was very pleasant, showed us around the property. Will be staying again.

Room was a little too hot and we tried to cool the room down with wide window open, still it was rather warm.

The Arches Guest House, situated only 2 miles from the City Cruise Terminal provided the ideal stop over for the next leg of our trip. The room was well appointed with the expected facilities and the large packet of biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge was a pleasant surprise. Our host was most gracious and our stay was relaxing and stress free, to be recommended !

Steve was very friendly, welcoming and gave great suggestions for restaurants in the area. Very helpful host. Allowed us to keep our luggage there after checkout to go for breakfast and before heading to the cruise port

Everything was fine. Room was clean. Location was decent. Ample parking if you need it. I just had a little difficulty regulating the shower temperature .

I was really happy with the size of the twin room, sharing with my son after watching "Arctic Monkeys' at Ageas Bowl. Room had a little fridge and a microwave, not that we used these but deffo useful if staying longer than 1 night, it had a little table and two chairs and a nice shower. We walked from ferry terminal (came from IOW) and got taxi back from concert.

Breakfast was great, and very surprisingly "free of charge" - what an excellent and very unexpected surprise. Don't know whether this is part of the package, but was well appreciated. Owner very attentive, a great place to stay.

Difficulty crossing a very busy road to get to the house. Taxi pulled up on opposite side. Nothing more not to like.

Fast response from the owner, secure parking off the road. Very friendly and helpful on our arrival. Room well equipped.

The one thing missing was a hand towel in the bathroom but we coped easily. We didn't spend much time in our room so didn't ask for one but im sure the owner would have got one straight away if we did ask.

This was so much more than I thought. Microwave, fridge, kettle and a table to eat from. Bedding and room very clean. My only inconvenience was not having a en-suite bathroom. I booked as shared but was designated my own. 😁 They do offer continental breakfast here but you need to order 24 hours in advance. I will go back here again absolutely fantastic place to stay 😀👍
