What a great little place, especially for the price. Very central, handy to everything in the city. Fresh seeming carpet on stairs and landings, spacious room. Bed was comfy and room was clean. Microwave and fridge were handy, as was desk to work from. WiFi strong enough for me to work no with issues and smart TV was amazing. The old saying is you get what you pay for. This place is trying to give you more than that while not charging the earth, which in this day and age is admirable.

Only slight issue was shower, which was a little temperamental in flow (though granted was in an attic room) and temperature (hot then cold after about 2 minutes then hot again)

The location was great, so close to the cultural quarter. We were greeted at 3pm and settled in immediately. The hosts were even thoughtful enough to place us together, despite booking seperately. The rooms themselves were spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in and the area was quiet with ample free parking at the back of the accommodation. Fully accessible to the train station, theatre, beautiful local parks, , the co-op was a stones throw away for provisions. Walkable to museums, cafes, bars, clubs, restaurants, local Parkrun and numerous other city attractions. Great value for money with a clean, shared kitchen, adequately equipped for self-catering. A true budget, no nonsense stay that was safe, quiet and exceptionally well run.

Umm.... Really nothing! . It was exactly as described. I have stayed in Southampton several times as my daughter is at Uni there and will definitely use this guesthouse again. If you can't be bothered to make your own breakfast then just go to the little cafe or weatherspoons around the corner🍳😉.

Free on-site parking is a major bonus in a city centre. My room was clean and comfortable with tea & coffee facilities, microwave, fridge, TV, towels and toiletries. It was facing onto the road, but I don't remember hearing anything outside even though the window was open for my entire stay. The thing that made my stay most of all was the staff. Check-in took literally seconds with no fuss and I was taken up to my room. Unfortunately I broke my ankle as I walked back to the guest house late at night, but I was able to hobble the remaining few yards and get to bed. In the morning as I limped out I was kindly offered the use of a crutch and my bag was carried to my car (I broke my left ankle and fortunately my car is automatic, so I was able to drive home before going to A&E). The compassion I was shown meant a lot when I was feeling a bit sorry for myself!! I stay in Southampton 2 or 3 times per year and would stay here again without hesitation, in fact I will make this my first choice from now on. It's not 5* luxury, but it is excellent value for money and is run by genuine, honest, caring people.

For what it cost, what's not to like?

Large house divided into rooms. Pleasant, helpful owner and good reception. Everywhere appears to be newly refurbished. Smart, clean and tidy and, on the night, quiet. Bedroom was a good size. Laminate flooring with chest of drawers, desk and chair, bedside cabinet and sink with cupboard under. Tele and shelf and hangers. Single bed was OK. Bedding clean and fresh. Warm, bright and quiet. Window with view of the car park. Shared shower room with toilet. Big room with large shower cabinet. Cupboards and window. Very clean and bright and warm. Good towel and toiletries provided. Shared kitchen was big and bright and clean. Tea/coffee/milk/sugar provided. Hob, fridge, tabletop oven and microwave. Fridge with freezer. Cupboards with crockery and cutlery and a toaster. All appeared new. Again, clean and warm and well kept. Plenty of free parking behind the building. Centrally located five minute walk from the Mayflower theatre and shops, pub, restaurants etc. short drive to the cruise liner terminal. All in all very good. Excellent price.

Minor bugbears; shower room door needs the top shaving as it very difficult to close and lock. A soap tray is needed if bars of soap are to be issued. And a bath mat to stop the floor getting wet (There was a rolled up towel on the windowsill, but, I wasn’t sure if it was a spare towel or the mat).

Great location close to the main train station, bus station and the Mayflower Theatre. Nice restaurant 'Prive', just around the corner. Also supermarket very close by. Spacious room with kitchenette, beds comfy. Towels and curtains a bit old but everything was extremely clean.

We couldn't open the window at all for fresh air - that may have been because we were on the ground floor for security. A good reading lamp by the bed would have been nice.

In room microwave, hotpot for tea, plenty of coffee and tea with extras, small refrigerator, and in-room sink. Interesting view out the window, very quiet peaceful restful place, also a television. Place to hang clothes, good steam heat in the room, bed was comfortable. Convenient to the central train station, and easy walking to many local stores. Management was very nice. Excellent value.

I thought I could walk to the cruise ship dock from there but it was actually too far. About half way I was lucky to find a taxi to carry me and my luggage there.

I wanted somewhere near to Southampton Central for 1 night as I was going away the next day and found this it's close enough to the station that you can carry a bit of luggage without too much trouble ( I had a cabin bag and small weekend bag) but far enough away so it's quiet. I loved the room and the bed was comfy. I haven't stayed in a room with a fridge or microwave before and that was lovely. The bathroom was a nice size as well. The owners were lovely as well. Will be back.

I liked the place very much. It is a good value for money !!! Very clean everywhere. Nice and clean kitchen facilities. Fridge, cooking stove, toaster and all other kitchen utensils you might need to prepare a breakfast or a meal. The bed was very comfortable and bed sheets were soft and clean. Excellent location against railway station and city centre. I am recommending the place to my friends and business colleagues. Thank you :-)

I liked everything :-)

The room was as advertised, very neat, tidy and clean. The internet worked perfectly. The bathroom and kitchen, which are shared, contain the necessities and are clean. The staff was ready to receive me upon arrival, and responded quickly to messages or requests. The location is great, on a walking distance from the central train station and West Quay, and it's easy to travel deeper into the city by bus.

Nothing!

Lovely staff responded to my message asking if we could have the least stairs possible due to disabilities and were able to help us the best they could with no extra fee Then when we arrived they were very nice and showed us our room which was surprisingly cool in this heat, it was very cute and honeslty perfect for one night (but I would definitely stay longer if I needed to). Very comfy and cute and I would definitely stay again Then I left my phone by accident and the staff have been amazingly helpful with returning it. This place is definitely disabled and neurodivergent friendly, I can struggle a lot with communication and had no issues here
