The room exceeded my expectations; it was spacious and intelligently furnished. The windows overlooked a grassed and wooded area. We were able to arrive very late without penalty. Parking was a bonus. There was space outsidefor exercising a dog. I was able to organise a flower bouquet to be in the room before we travelled.

We arrived in the early hours and the night porter made no effort to assist with luggage. Lazy old toad. Pension him off! There was a convention taking place which meant crowds acculumulated chatting around the main exit. Hardly the fault of the hotel but it made walking a dog through crowds tricky.

A very good breakfast but the first morning of our three we were told that we couldn’t take our assistance dog into the restaurant and had to sit outside so I was very disappointed with that. The staff could have been more helpful especially as the hotel wasn’t busy at all just before Christmas. As the weather wasn’t good we had our evening meal in the hotel but had to sit in the bar as the restaurant didn’t open at all. We thought it was expensive for what we choose.

Staff should have been more friendly and helpful seeing as though they weren’t very busy. I have worked in Customer Service all my life and always went out of my way to make sure that I gave 100% service always.

I have to complain about the chairs in the dining room and bar and lounge area. Seeing that many of the guests the hotel attracts are older and so many Senior citizens the chairs are so low that when older we cannot get out of them easily. the height of the dining table when sitting on the chairs could be lower or the chairs higher in order to eat comfortably. In the bar area there were only 2 chairs with arms and high backs all the other were low down.

Room was clean and bed comfy, although quite compact. The bar staff were friendly. There was no one there at night time either when we wanted some more milk. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. Great location near to the town and 5 minutes walk from the station.

Not all staff were friendly, no one on the front desk to greet us when we arrived and when they did appear, they weren't the happiest of people. No one was on the desk later in the evening when we wanted some milk, we had to look for someone and to ask about breakfast times. Also I seemed to have been charged twice for our stay, I need to ring the hotel about this.

Parking, which in Stratford upon Avon is a bonus. Big room. Tea and coffee facilities, iron and board, large TV. All a bit dated.Was advertised as having air conditioning, did have controls but didn't actually work at all. Was only there for one night and just left the window open which was adequate. Was going to be about 25 degrees plus on the day we departed so that would have been a major issue had we stayed any longer. Didn't have breakfast as we preferred to have a walk into town. If we were going down again it's unlikely that we would stay there , for the price would have expected a more modern room with working air conditioning. Did a job for the one night.

A bit dated, air conditioning not working at all

Location was easy to find and very close to the town. Breakfast was great as it was help yourself to cereals, and cooked food.

On site parking was chargeable but not a reasonable charge as it was £17 for two nights. I feel guests should have this as part of the accommodation fee. If however the carpark was secured at all times then I could understand the charge. Also no toilet brush in the bathroom. The plug drain did not automatically empty after a bath., had to force the cap off to release as there was no maintenance staff available when reported at 17:00.

The room had everything we needed. It was easy to walk into town, the shower was good and very easy to use, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was very useful, there was plenty of clothes storage. We appreciated the warm biscuits we were given on arrival.

The staff were very polite and efficient but didn't engage with us much, particularly at breakfast when we hardly saw any staff members on the floor until our plates were cleared. The choice for breakfast was good but the hot food was only luke warm and, at the time we ate, the bacon and sausages were quite undercooked. We only used the lift on arrival as it seemed quite rickety and didn't inspire confidence, particularly as the second lift was already out of order! We found the room a bit too brown and dark but, in contrast, the bedside lights were too bright. The two large armchairs looked stylish but were very uncomfortable and much too low for people of a certain age!

Location was excellent. 10-20 minutes from the town centre and major attractions. Situated in very quite and extremely pleasant grounds which I certainly did not expect for a city location and ample, easy to park spaces surrounding the whole building. Beautiful seating area to sit out and relax in to the front of the property. Whole hotel was spotlessly clean and well kept. May have been exceedingly minor signs of wear and tear in the decor but they certainly do not detract from the enjoyment of a stay here. Staff were welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful. The room was an excellent size and well laid out and furnished. A comfortable bed, with a selection of pillows. Many different lighting options. More than ample storage. Comfortable chairs to relax in, at a table, as well as a dressing table/desk and chair to use as required. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in a hidden away cupboard and a large television to view, if you wished. The bathroom was well equipped with everything you could need.... Well for me anyway.... bottles of hand wash, moisturiser, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, soft white towels, a bath, nonslip, mat and the essential toilet paper. I didn't sample the restaurant or bar, so can not comment on them. But I understand, from the menu in the room, that a wide selection of snacks and meals are available from 7am until 10pm. I would certainly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if ever in the area again

Can not think of anything at all

Great room 431, nice quiet location at the end of a corridor. Unusual shaped room, spacious and airy unfortunately no window in bathroom and extractor didn’t cope with steam very well. Comfortable bed and chairs, tables and plenty of extra lamps in the room. Clean bedding and towels.

Pillow’s selection was not to our preference as we like firm pillows. 2 pillows on each side of the king size bed, all were very soft in our opinion. Bathroom extractor not strong enough, snug bathroom, would have preferred more space in a shower cubicle , we didn’t have a bath and it appeared to be narrow which made the over bath shower feel like a small space

Front desk staff was exceptionally excellent.

The restaurant division needs serious adult supervision. Wonderful people but obviously NOT focused because of a need for proper training. Tables left cluttered while staff chats, Take away cups only replaced when asked, same with other items. The bakery items should be fresher, and the ordering menu needs to be refreshed and more sandwiches/soups added. With that said, we still completely enjoyed the hotel and ALL of the staff.
