The staff were friendly and the interior of the hotel was nice. Excellent location.

The rooms were not ready at 3pm and we were given the room we did not choose. The front desk staff told us that they were understaffed. We did not mind it too much as the allocated room was ok. We had booked and dined in the hotel restaurant. The Woodsman was lovely, and the food was great (service was slow), but when the bill came, we noticed VAT 20% was added on top of the total bill, including the service charge. It meant the prices on the menu did not include VAT and were added after. This is the first time I have encountered this in restaurants, and I found it unreasonable to do so.

The breakfast was okay, the cereals, breads, continental, fruit etc all excellent choice and quality to eat. However I personally didn’t enjoy the hot food apart from poached eggs and hash browns but that is personal choice. My mam throughly enjoyed the hot food especially the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel.

I found the bacon was salty, and the black pudding was a bit tough and over cooked around the edges but other than that the breakfast was excellent. We had a problem with house keeping on one of the day but it was soon sorted straight away and staff were very good to make it up for the problem that the house keeping caused.

The location of Hotel Indigo is superb; it is within easy walking distance of most of the Shakespeare Experience, including the two theatres, the river and canal. I was contacted directly by the hotel when I booked, describing their three qualities of bedroom and asking for my preference; as the weather was very hot during my stay, I was glad that I had requested a contemporary room with air conditioning. It was extremely effective, much less noisy than other A/C units I have encountered in hotels and kept the room at an even temperature throughout my stay. The bed was large and comfortable and, due to the pleasant temperature, I slept extremely well. An added bonus was the iron, ironing board and 'fridge, all of which added to the convenience and comfort of my stay.

It wasn't ideal that I had to book for breakfast each day and, whilst the continental breakfast was absolutely fine, with a good choice of foods, the cooked breakfast was a bit hit or miss. I'm allergic to eggs, to the cooked options were limited, but the staff were very helpful and attentive, assuring me that they could cook anything to order. I liked the fact that tea and coffee were served in individual pots which gave 3-4 cups. I ordered room service on my first evening, but wasn't impressed. It was reasonably tasty, but rather over-styled and, in my opinion, over-priced. On the basis of the room service food and the cooked breakfast, I actually cancelled my dinner reservation in the hotel restaurant and went to one of the many restaurants in town.

Location very good, for the RSC, shopping and some of the sights Breakfast was good with good variety, both cooked and continental Rooms were clean although the twin room for mysel and my wife was a bit on the small side

Room power is controlled by a master switch in a bank of three switches by the door - but it wasn't labelled so we struggled for several minutes trying to work out how to turn on the lights etc!!! Our elderly aunt was completely flummoxed by this and the lighting controls in the room which were a bit odd/complicated - OK when you worked them out but not obvious. Hotel told us that room instructions were on the TV - OK but as our Aunt's TV didn't turn on this was a problem! Plus we weren't told about where the instructions were when checking in.

I do not take breakfast at the hotel as, for the amount that I can eat, it is far too expensive. Some sort of lighter, continental breakfast and, therefore, rather cheaper would be appreciated.

I know that in asking for a Tudor Room that I am obliged to forego some amenities. I do not mind the access by stairs and the lack of air conditioning and double glazing. However, when one pays a fairly high price, it is surprising to be able to hear snoring and low level conversation from the next room. I hope that I kept the TV volume low enough that it did not disturb my neighbours. I know that there will be some noise from outside but that has never been a problem. Room 407 is, frankly, a bit cramped but as I was alone that was not a big problem. For two people it would not be incredibly comfortable. And I do like a window in the bathroom which Room 407 does not have. I appreciate the coffee machine, the water in the fridge and the little bags of snacks.

The attention to detail is immaculate and impressive, as is the customer service. The facilities are second to none. The bed was comfortable, the shower incredible and the wardrobe was fantastic, opening up to reveal lighting, an interior mirror, safe, coffee machine and fridge. A very clever way to utilise the space. Exceptionally clean and tidy throughout. The best hotel I've ever stayed in.

Clutching at straws but adjoining door in room meant that the couple next door sounded like they were in our room and they were only talking at a normal level. Would ask for no adjoining room next time.

Fantastic position away from the crowds and near to the river and the theatres. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. Great to have a phone to call reception from room. Prompt service from staff when I had a small maintenance problem. Beautiful new garden which can be seen from the reception area although it was cold when we were there so we were not able to sit outside. Liked the fact I could turn on the heating in my room. Also enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks.

I asked for and was given a room in the old part of the building. Lovely - I could see Shakespeare's school from my window! However the room was quite high up and it was a bit of a pain getting the luggage up the stairs. Think I will ask for a room in the new part next time (am hoping to stay again soon).

The facilities were very good. The room was neat and stylish with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym was always clean and offered complementary water and towels. Breakfasts were very tasty we loved french toast a lot. The hotel smelled very nice and there was a full range of their own high range toiletries which you can later purchase for yourself or as a present.

It is unclear how the restaurant is related to the hotel and hotel staff didn't have much information about it. When we tried to go in there and book it we were told that it was closed for the entire week so we ended up dining out in the town. Though there are many nice restaurants nearby.

A friendly hotel with good facilities. We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and we got the quiet room requested. The bar area and the garden were very pleasant to sit in, and we were able to get a drink after returning quite late from the theatre.

We were concerned that the elaborate shower arrangement in the bathroom would be robust enough to last in the future. Also it was quite a clamber to get into it. Bar prices quite high and we felt that the cost of breakfast rather high too, especially since some items ran out and were not replaced promptly

We booked last minute after driving past and liking the look of it. The room was compact (last one left) but beautifully decorated, super clean and the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. All communal areas were nicely decorated and plenty of places to sit and relax around the hotel, inside and out. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations for places to eat outside of the hotel as we hadn’t booked in advance. Also a great location right in the centre of town but not at all noisy.

Wine list was a little pricey! (but nice) - But that was down to the fact it was served from the in-house restaurant that is run independently of the hotel.
