I only spent one night but I am already wanting to return! The Townhouse is a gem - all of the modern conveniences coupled with exceptional style and historic atmosphere! The room was well appointed with just the right tasteful nod to Shakespeare. I love that the room included a mini fridge, iron, fan and hair dryer as well as a kettle and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant, bar and lounges are cozy and tasteful. I did not enjoy the food but I am sure it is excellent. From the moment you walk in, it is clear that you will be comfortable, welcomed and well taken care of!
Not a thing- wish I could've have stayed longer!

Excellent location, beautifully decorated. In an old historic home.
Our room was at the front of the property so there was quite a bit of street noise. I would definitely stay here again, but I would request a different room. There was a private event on Sunday afternoon/evening which meant the bar and restaurant were closed to guests. I wish this would have been disclosed when we booked, or at least when we checked in. After a day of sightseeing we were cold and tired and were looking forward to having a drink at the bar. It wasn’t a big deal that the bar was closed to guests. We figured we’d just grab a drink and bring it up to our room but we were told even that wasn’t an option.

I simply love this place. Perfect location, super nice staff, elegant rooms, the loveliest little courtyard and - believe it or not - the complimentary breakfast includes the very best croissants I've ever had (and I've had quite a few also in Paris and Co.). I would absolutely recommend staying there and I will definitely come back.
Only two tiny things: (1) when I arrived in my room, the smell wasn't nice (surely has to do with the drains). But I opened the window and switched on the fan and the smell was gone and did not return. (2) there is no lift (at least I haven't seen one, sorry if I just missed it) and if you have big luggage you have to drag it up the stairs. However, the stairs only have a few steps and I am very sure the lovely staff would help everyone if necessary.

A brilliant location if you are visiting the RSC in Stratford upon Avon, as it's only a 5 minute walk away The staff are very welcoming and happy to make your stay a good one. A continental breakfast is included, but there is the option to purchase cooked items from a breakfast menu. You can also have a pre theatre dinner there which avoids the hassle of trying to find a restaurant.
The downside is the lack of a carpark. However, we parked at Rother Street NCP and walked to the hotel. A 24hr ticket cost £11.95. This avoided having to move our car before 8am should we have been able to find a spot outside the hotel- which was impossible when we arrived.

Location, character and facilities of public and private rooms all excellent. And to the considerable credit of the management, unrequested financial compensation for a temporary and unforeseeable hotel equipment failure during our stay was very magnanimously reflected in our account on our departure. We would definitely hope to stay here again on any subsequent visit to Stratford, of which we have already made several, and intend many more.
Guests' experience might benefit from a little further training and/or supervision of the breakfast serving-staff? And I'm afraid our bedroom was left unlocked by the cleaning staff on the first full day of our stay. A pity, because if details like this could be attended to (as they easily could and should be) this would be even more an unmistakable gem of a hotel.

I loved my first stay so much I booked again! Red checked me in and they were so friendly and welcoming! My room was available early which was a nice perk! I asked Red for recommendations for dinner and they remembered and asked me in the morning where I had decided. Afternoon dinner I returned for coffee and dessert which I took to my room. It was delicious! The Townhouse exudes charm, friendliness and hospitality! I hope to return often!
Some might not enjoy or be able to climb the stairs with their luggage but I like the charm of the large original staircase!

I didn't have breakfast. I booked the hotel as I was invited to my Nephew's Wedding in Stratford. The location was perfect to wander around the beautiful town. The staff, especially Daniel and Joey were very friendly and helpful and recommended the Edward Moon restaurant a few minutes away which was excellent! The room had a good view and was very quaintly and traditionally decorated. There was a good ambiance in the bar area.
The only criticism was that the carpet in my room was a little shabby and needed replacing but everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable, although I did notice that there was not a mattress protector under the bed sheets which is very surprising considering it's a hotel. I would very much recommend them putting one in place.

This is a really nice upmarket hotel in the centre of Stratford walking distance to the cinema and central attractions. Room was very nicely furnished and room bay window looked out onto Shakespear school building. Very Quite. Allowed us to check in early. Perfect. Loved the place. Worth the extra cost.
Like many central hotels in stratford upon avon no parking. We used NCP carpark about 150m away at cost of 10GBP for 24 hrs. Paid parking around hotel is 1 hr max until 6pm, close to RSC it is 2hr max until 6pm. Another option is overnight parking (4pm to 8 am) at council parking spots about 400m away is 3.3GBP.

The room was unique, comfortable and had a lovely bathroom with a great shower. Ideally located for everything I wanted to see. Staff very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty limited; I paid for something different, which was very nice, as was supper the previous evening.
Limited choice (though ok quality) for the free breakfast. No jam for the croissants and poor coffee. But the extra that I paid for was great. The parking did not go well - I read on the hotel’s details that it had no parking but I could park in nearby Church St car park - this is either not the case (it is “private”, if you go in you won’t be able to get out again) or the hotel should have given me a code? But if so I didn’t know and wasn’t asked if it was needed. The machine took my money so I assumed it was ok but then had to persuade a resident to let me out. Very embarrassing. Best park elsewhere.

The staff were very good. The room looked brilliant and of a very high quality. The complimentary continental breakfast was really nice. You couldn't hear anything of the pub from our room on the top floor. The room had lovely carpet and the curtains were really good at blocking the light out for sleeping. The location is great, within walking distance of every part of Stratford it seemed. There were many lovely places to eat within 5/10 mins walk. The river is again just a 5/10 min walk which was very nice.
It would have been nice if we'd been told that there would be very loud live music when we arrived as we couldn't hear the staff to talk to them. Thankfully we couldn't hear it from our room. It was a shame we couldn't sample the dinner menu at the hotel as it closed when we arrived on the Sunday and didn't open on the Monday (this is advertised). It did look really nice, just a shame we didn't get to try it.
