Location was excellent and the advantages of this meant we could walk to local restaurants, shops and attractions 😍 Cooked Breakfast was plentiful, hot and varied, cold varieties had plenty of choice and both very enjoyable 😋 Room was large comfortable, felt as if your were at home. Only downside (I know you’re aware of this) creaky floors, some what expected due the age of the property. The fridge and complementary drinks was a fabulous surprise and bonus! Love that❤️!

Nothing not to like! We enjoyed the whole experience, we would stay here again!

The hotel is historic and so much fun to walk around in. The lobby is huge and comfortable. Our room had a name! We stayed in the Merchant of Venice room. It is definitely an older hotel, but fun to visit. We had a problem with our rent car and our American phones weren't working. The staff bent over backwards to help us phone in the problem. We couldn't have been happier with the service. And the location was perfect. We ate a restaurant across the street from the hotel and it was fabulous. And we were in easy walking distance from Shakespeare's home and just a few steps away from New Place.

The parking lot is tricky as it is so tightly packed. If your parking skills and driving skills aren't top-notch, you might have a problem getting in and out of the lot. They do have another lot they can send you to if theirs is full.

Hotel centrally placed for theatre , shops , river ,park . We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost . This comprised a four poster bed ( without curtains but handy for hanging wet towels over !) ; bath and shower ; sitting room and hallway . Free bottled water and soft drinks in fridge . Spacious dining room . Usual fried breakfast .A few nice extras on cereal table ( dried fruit , seeds , etc ) . Pleasant staff .

Dusty behind the bed and between mattress and bed head . ( Only found out when looking for a dropped ear plug ! ) Shower door glass was sparkling clean but the base and bath surround was a bit mouldy ... could easily have been remedied with a bit of bleach . Bathroom floor was quite dusty and small sanitary disposal bags had not been replaced . . I wondered if the fact we had been upgraded meant they didn't have time to do more than the basics in the room . However , I was more than happy to put up with these minor points for the benefits of being upgraded to a suite ! Cars were parked inconsiderately in hotel car park , so although we were told there was space ... there wasn’t . . Large puddle at entrance to back door .

We like the location, the building is impressive. All the staff we interacted with were excellent, an asset to the hotel. The room was clean, the maid did an excellent job. We requested an iron and ironing board and they were in the room when we arrived. All in all, a pleasant stay.

It is an old building and they are hard to maintain, parts of the building were a little tired. The refrigerator in room 222 did not work, the light came on but the fridge stayed warm, that was a nuisance because we had wanted to use it. We did report this on leaving. Had we been staying longer we would have requested a room change.

Location was spot on! Beautiful building, clean, comfy beds, air con, mini fridge. Awesome breakfast!

The staff of an evening couldn't be found! In the kitchen chatting, 4 of us waiting at reception. Knocked twice on kitchen door but was too busy talking then said was getting food, (after telling us they didn't do food???). Woman who eventually came to the bar on 2 nights we were there was the rudest and most evil glaring woman we ever met. I asked about the wine choices and was aggressively told "all same" so I s Had to go google to see which I'd prefer. Everything else was answered aggressively in one word whilst being given the death stare of inconvenience. Then once ppl were impolitely serviced she disappeared again and no more drinks could be gotten unless you went through the entire thing again! Bathroom products were also empty and we had duct tape on broken bathroom window.

Loved how old & quirky this property was. Lovely, clean , huge room with everything we needed. Loved the extra little touches -posh shampoo, conditioner, hand wash & shower gel 😊 The staff were very helpful & thoughtful, especially as we had my elderly parents with us . Sam the receptionist straight away told us our rooms were not accessible by lift & not only changed them for us, but I’m pretty sure gave us an upgrade. They were also very helpful when they realised I’d made a mistake by not booking the last night for my Mum & Dad . They rang ( we had to leave for work & we’re returning to pick them back up 4 days later) to double check & extending their booking for them.

Loved everything about.

Brilliant location for our needs with RSC theatres, river, restaurants, shops and attractions within very easy walking distance Easy access to our second floor rooms via a lift Very helpful staff at the front desk

Breakfast staff busy (a reminder was needed to staff that a cooked dish had been requested but not delivered) A wait of some minutes on Sunday before being seated at a table Dining room extension area gloomy unless seated by a window Public seating area at the back of the hotel very comfortable but very dark - some additional lighting would help those trying to converse, read or work

This is my favourite hotel in Stratford. The character and location are wonderful. Reception staff and restaurant staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, as always. Blue badge parking is excellent as is positioning of rooms close to the lift. Rooms very comfortable too.

Not much to mention really but if I have to say something there were some red marks on my bath surround (possibly nail polish?) and there was a slight toiletty smell in the bathroom. The only other thing was that I had paid for a late check out for both rooms but the message didn’t get through to Housekeeping, who tried to gain entry. Apologies were soon made though and nothing could spoil what was a super stay.

The hotel was lovely, first time there, the room, staff and breakfast were all excellent

Booked this hotel for the reason it was in my opinion, good value for money and what was being offered. What they didn’t tell you that you had to pay for 24hr car parking, Total £45.00 for three nights. If I had of known this, I would have not booked, due to the reason other hotels were inclusive of parking. So for the extra amount I had to pay, I could have stayed at another hotel which included free parking and a pool. Was not happy. They need to be up front from the start the extra costs you will have to pay for parking.

This hotel is very atmospheric. Loved our quiet “Prestige” room looking out over the edge of the garden of New Place. The room was spacious, clean and pleasant with a sitting area, TVs, mini fridge, and very comfortable beds. The hospitality tray of drinks was great, with additional carbonated drinks in the fridge. The shower was over the bath and was fine for an old building. The staff were all very pleasant. Breakfast was great, with the hot buffet being refreshed regularly. The location was fantastic - very close to the high street, theatre and all Stratford’s attractions. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the car park, which was a great help, although more expensive than other local car parks.

This is an old building so care needs to be taken on the stairs and in the passageways. (Lift is provided). Our bathroom needed a little upgrade, eg new blind. There was no rail or hold to assist with stepping out of the bath/shower. (We were not in an accessible room though). Space is at a premium in the carpark, but we felt it was worth parking there for convenience. The hospitality tray might have benefitted from having some still bottled water available.
