Our hosts - the whole family - were kindness itself. We and our dog were warmly welcomed and everything that could be done to optimise our stay was done cheerfully and willingly. Nothing was too much trouble. The Inn was lovely and so was the village and the setting. The food was good (two evening meals and two breakfasts) - and it was a relief to find a place where we could eat on both Sunday and Monday nights. The beer and cider were good too. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There were details of local walks in our room, as well as a kettle, biscuits, TV, wifi etc. Certainly a place we are keen to return to.

In an ideal world, the floorboards in our bedroom and bathroom would have creaked less loudly, so that one person getting up didn't disturb the other, but in such an ancient building it was neither a surprise nor a problem.

Lovely place to stay. Great location for what we needed. Felt very welcome from the start and throughout our stay. The lodge seems to have been recently done out and warm and cosy. Food in the pub was great!

There wasn't anything we didn't like but a few bits that could be slightly better: WiFi in the lodge especially when the pub is busy. Weren't able to connect to plan our next day or to watch the TV as the TV was apps only such as BBC inplayer. (Not a huge problem when you are there to enjoy the outside! :) The shower could be a bit more powerful but plenty good enough. We could have done with a chopping board in the kitchen but I'm sure if we had really needed one they would have found one for us.

Magical venue in the Devon countryside. Traditional decor and welcoming staff. Bedroom were completely new and refurbished in a traditional style. There is a beautiful pub downstairs with a cosy indoor and wonderful outdoor sitting. We enjoyed refreshments in the sun surrounded by climbing roses. Breakfast was served in a large room with stained glass windows. The surroundings are very peaceful and atmospheric with several thatched roof buildings nearby. There is also a nice walking trail starting in the hamlet.

Where do I start? Set in a quiet rural hamlet a stay in this truly historic (Google it) grade 1 listed longhouse is like stepping back in time. A family run Inn with a well stocked bar, excellent restaurant and appropriately styled accomodation gets top marks for a friendly welcome and professional service from start to finish, it would be unfair if I didn't mention the owner's cooked breakfasts made by Paul himself from local produce, the best breakfasts I've ever had in any accomodation in 50 years of travel.

Didn't like having to leave and return to the reality of our busy life back home.

This old inn has lots of character with some parts apparently dating from 9th century. It is located deep in the shady Devon lanes and offers a rural feast for the senses. We bought some fresh turkey eggs from the small farm next door. The restaurant is deservedly popular, the cuisine easily a cut above usual pub/restaurant fare and bookings are advised. Our room was quaint but very comfortable. Although off the beaten track the location is convenient for both Exeter and Dartmoor.

getting a suitable and constant temperature in the shower was a daily challenge.

A beautiful old Inn with so much character in a lovely setting. So peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was lovely, as was the evening meals we had, catch of the day, haddock, was amazing. We were made to feel very welcome by the family, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

There is nothing to dislike about this place. Maybe the narrow lanes to get to and from there, but even they weren't a problem after a couple of trips.

very good - the 'timed' service meant that everything was freshlycooked exactly to order, with no wait

The whole building is very old, and is presented as such, quite rightly, but I found it a little gloomy, and the bedroom lacked colour - it just needed a little bit of 'cheering up' as far as decor is concerned e.g. brighter bed covering (over the lovely white sheets), brighter curtains (although I appreciate the brown is good for a excluding light).

Fantastic staff. The owner Paul went out of his way to help me with my motorcycle that wouldn't start. Room fantastic, food amazing. We will return and will certainly recommend this place to family and friends.

Steak ordered rare. Served medium. I payed £40 extra for the room. Booking. Com's mistake. I entered 2 adults for 2 nights and it let me pay. Afterwards, my receipt only said for 1 adult for 2 nights. Hotel said they would waiver half of the fee, however I ended up paying it in full.

The location is tucked away in a wonderful part of Devon, close enough to Exeter and close enough for exploring its surrounding area. Having a car is a must as Trusham is not really easily accessed by foot and apart from local taxi services (quite expensive but speak to Cridford Inn and they can help). Lovely family owned treehouse with great beer and fab breakfast. I will return as we have another wedding to attend next year locally.

Good food and and a very pleasant Inn and surrounding area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking. Nothing was too much trouble .

The Inn is very old so rooms would be small and odd shaped. The bed was ok but not overly comfortable. Obtaining the correct temperature for the water in the Shower and Hand Basin needed a bit of understanding but once we got the knack, it was ok.
