I found the hotel easily - mentioning the red letter box is helpful - and I was able to park there each evening. The spaces are adequate if drivers park carefully. The food was very good and the atmosphere relaxed as all the staff are pleasant and keen to assist the visitors.
I had help with carrying my suitcase up to the single room on the second floor. Described as "cosy" the room was small and quiet with the basin by the bed, while the toilet and shower were en suite. There was only an open rail for clothes but plenty of drawer space and the bed was comfortable. I adapted to the conditions during my stay!

The hotel itself was stunning, beautiful grounds with sun loungers and seating, had a cream tea on the terrace, delicious. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Had arrived on two motorcycles and were able to park on the grounds of the hotel. The room was very comfortable and meticulously clean, lovely thick white towels, bed and pillows were great. Tea and coffee in the room. There were so many areas you could sit and relax in this beautiful hotel. The restaurant was set out superbly, the breakfast menu was exceptionally detailed and served lovely and hot. I really can’t fault The Balmoral at all. I would highly recommend this hotel without a shadow of doubt. Thank You.

room was small but fine for us breakfeast was good plenty of choice food was also good in the diner
advertised as 500 yds from the beach front what is classed as a beach there wasnt one just a road to walk along also the first time ever we had to purchase our drinks in bar and take them into dinner not even asked if a refill was needed had to get up and go to bar ourselves not really what we expected on

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had a great single bed room. It was very clean and the bed was pulled up daily. The room itself was small but it had everything you need for a single room, so I was really grateful for it. The location is fantastic, just a 5 min walk to Meadfoot beach. The coastal route into town is stunning. Well worth the effort.
I had room 17 which was a great room, albeit, you can hear the noisy fan from the kitchen. Fortunately that goes off after service around 8pm. In the dead of night you can hear the people in the room above, and there was a regular vent that comes on and off at regular intervals. But for a deep sleeper, this would be no problem.

The hotel was lovely. We had a really pleasant stay. Staff were all really friendly and polite, nothing was any trouble. The room was as stated "cosy" but it was a really nice room and spotlessly clean, with tea and coffee facilities. The View was great over looking the garden and out to sea. Breakfast was perfect, a lovely selection of smoothies, juice, fruit salad, yogurts, cereal and mini croissants then we chose off of the menu which had a good range of cooked options. we enjoyed breakfast sat in the garden which was really pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely go back and recommend.
It was slightly dated in the lounge and reception ares but this isn't a complaint. It was very clean and tidy and the general ambience of the hotel and restaurant itself was really nice. Our room was absolutely boiling but they did give us a mini air conditioning unit to use. It is also unusually hot for us at the moment so not the hotels fault. The shower was tiny.

Great location and welcoming friendly staff. Small room but great view over the garden. 15 mins walk into central Torquay and only a 2 min walk to beautiful Meadfoot bay. Staff could not to enough to assist. Lots of regular customers who seem to return time after time. Great breakfast included in the room rate which included cereals / drinks and a full English cooked to order. Thanks for a great stay.
parking can be a bit tight but there were usually spaces in the road outside the hotel.

We were fortunate to have a ground floor room with walk in shower. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent,. The restaurant staff were friendly and assisting with any dietary requests. The hotel is ideally located with a beach nearby and an hourly bus to Torquay. It was good to have a choice to sit in the large garden, or the lounge on inclement weather.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our room was light and airy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and there was a wide choice. We went for the full English which was delicious. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Excellent location - surrounded by trees and very peaceful yet within easy walking distance of the town (a bit of a climb back up the hill). There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which is handy for getting to and from the town if you don't fancy the walk.

I was on a quick visit Torquay for a work engagement. This was a last minute plan and the Balmoral was a short walk from our location. I arrived slightly early and the excellent Alex checked me in and with a free upgrade, without any issue whatsoever. Next morning breakfast very efficient and tasty (most professional lady in charge of the breakfast room). This is a lovely cosy hotel and I highly recommend it.
