The building is beautiful, the outdoor heated pool was fantastic for the children. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and there’s a beautiful view out over the sea. The staff were friendly and our room was well kept with replacement biscuits, water and hot drinks provided each day.

I think the hotel would benefit from a slightly cheaper breakfast and greater availability of bar snacks and cream teas throughout the day and evening rather than just at set times- the hotel is missing an opportunity here! The indoor pool requires an upgrade and the ‘sauna’ is more like a draughty garden shed!!

The hotel is a lovely place with very good quality views overlooking the sea

We booked the back room as there cheaper and as we have stayed several times we know the rooms at the back face the trees But there's no need for the place to be scruffy and rubbish left outside and definitely not on the little roof top we where back in Torquay this weekend but didn't stay with you As you know there are lots of New hotels being built and some getting refurbished So keeping old customers happy is a must

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and appear to have been redecorated which was good. Lovely sea view. Breakfast was very good. Prefer table service to buffet style.

Rooms with very hot, no air conditioning. Floors are on a slope but understand this is an old building. Shower could be upgraded to a rain fall. The shower head was quite small and slow for a double shower base. Water filled up more at one end due to uneven floors. Could provide face clothes, more toiletries (larger) Corridors have been painted in a dark terracotta colour which makes it look dark and a bit dated. Could have been painted to match the rooms (personal opinion)

Room and view exceeded expectations. Cooked breakfast very good. Continental breakfast could be better, poor lighting and display. Catering front of house Staff well trained but need to give a little more attention to detail. The outdoor pool area was lovely and inviting and well organised.

Indoor swimming pool changing facilities were uninviting. Better signage and lighting to the pool required. The dinner menu was a little limited, more like all day pub dishes. Would have liked maybe a few more upmarket special dishes added for the evening meal together with a restaurant starter menu. Food was tasty and good portion size.

A fantastic stay at the Osbourne. Staff were went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was wonderful. We are at the Osbourne each day for breakfast and had an evening meal on NYE. The standard of dinning was outstanding, the Restaurant Manager and Chef created the most fantastic evening experience. Accommodating for our toddler also. A very welcoming and professional approach. Thank you

Works are in progress at the hotel, such that there are a few areas of improvement. E.g ongoing maintenance on the regency building inside and out. However once completed it would be hard to find any snagging issues.

Wonderful period crescent and a beautiful setting and views from the excellent terrace bar/cafe. The staff were charming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. Tennis court, swimming pool and a beach 5 mins walk (or less) in front of the hotel. Delicious breakfast.

Slight niggle but have forgotten the room number, sorry: the TV on a bracket could be away from the bathroom entrance a bit as my wife knocked her head very very slightly when I was watching TV in bed and she came out of the shower. She is petite so it would probably not affect most women of average height. The TV could be on the wall before the bed. Although I know a screen is less stylish than artwork.

The room was very comfortable and the staff were nice the breakfast was excellent

The restaurant was closed when I stayed also stopped serving food in the bar outside at 5pm also the hotel was a long walk to Torquay Town Centre

The property is amazing and, if there's any better location in the Torquay area, I can't imagine where or how. If you're offered an upgrade to a sea view room, whatever you do, take it. For £60, we were upgraded to a massive suite with four huge windows looking over the truly magnificent bay... in all the places I've stayed, I have never experienced a better view. To sum up the staff... I brought a takeaway back late one evening and sheepishly went to see if I could beg a couple of spoons. The chap on reception jumped up immediately and offered plates and anything else we might need... a fine example of service and attention to detail. Great stuff!

Noting we visited off season, there were a few instances of peeling wallpaper and the odd crack in the walls here and there. But it's an old and beautfiul edifice whose maintenance schedule is doubtless similar to that of painting the Forth Bridge... so I suggest forgiving The Osborne its occasional imperfection and instead loving its magnificence in all its glory.

We were there with extended family for a funeral. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and thoughtful to enable us to spend time together. The hotel accommodation was excellent value, with a great breakfast. The location was spectacular, with a great walk either along coast (stairs/fairly steep bits) or along pavements into the centre - both have hills (it’s Devon!)

The gym was extensive with great range of equipment , cycling machines are fairly basic)

The beautiful location. The calm, relaxing feeling within the Hotel. The room size for a single occupancy was ample, and a nice size double bed was welcome. Clean and tidy. I had a few issues but will inform the manager, so they can be resolved for other clients.

327 Athlone The room I was allocated was on the third floor facing the back, up the pretty hillside. Although next to the lift, the lift was quite. The room to my left, their shower room extraction fan was very loud; as was the noise coming from the two boiler flues outside the room windows. Due to the sash windows not having secondary glazing, the noise from the two boiler flues stopped me sleeping. So I did not sleep at all and left early around 9am. I would like some form of compensation.
